Hi, anyone used a waterproof casing for the Arc S? Off skiing in Jan and want to take my phone, but don't want to get it wet.
I was looking at the Kursell SealABox, but it looks like a general purpose case, so not sure how usable the phone is inside it.
Looking for someone that's got xperience of this.
Thanks.
definitely I should get one for me.. but maybe its too late, after I dropped it into the toilet haha, shame :C
if you can probably wait a little more, i've heard zagg is commin up with a spray on waterproofing thing they call HzO... *not meant to advertise...

Xperia Blog reported an Elecom waterproof case for the arc long back. I'm guessing it should be out by now.
http://www.xperiablog.net/2011/06/28/elecom-set-to-release-waterproof-case-for-the-xperia-arc/
I've used Aquapac cases for years and never had a leak.. Spent a whole summer swimming with my x10mini in one.. Phone stays fully functional, optical plastic so photos come out good and touch screen works through the plastic. Sound wasn't affected too much either so I could still take calls.. However I recommend a good bt headset for skiing.. Nothing like music while you ski.

You can check out the accessories here
The arc came out here yesterday. I went to a local shop and there was a booklet titled 'Xperia arc 400 Accessories'
There is an absolute shed load of covers, cases, and replacement battery covers, along with chargers, and kits for cars and bicycles. There are a lot of lenses for the camera too, plus lots of screen covers.
i am hoping for an official extended battery (with back cover to match) that will double the battery capacity to 3000mAh minimum and become as thick as the x10.. one of the biggest perks to owning a smartphone is you can't go a day of heavy use without fear of your battery dying. i get paranoid when the battery reaches < 30%.
That's not a perk! A perk is something good.
Sent from my X10 using XDA and Swype.
lol I spotted that, but let it slide
Oooh, I'd love to have some lenses for the camera Can't find any on the internet, tho.
Anyone with better luck?
No specific accessories for the new flagship yet? Bummer, a dock or official extended battery would have been great.
Go to Amazon jp seach for x12, some cases looks good!

Why xperia arc is renamed to "Xperia x12" or "LT15" in several states?

I agree. A dock would be wicked. I dont think it will happen though. Look at where the usb port n 3.5mm jack is on the play. That was designed with a dock in mind.

hmm i seen this before...never tried it out but looks pretty interesting. It doesnt water proof your phone but is suppossed to dry it out thouroughly in case it does ever get wet
Has anyone ever tried this product or type of product out? PLease let me know if anyone has tried this...I figured this thread would be appropriate to post in since it is about waterproof/and phones. I think if the product actually works it might be handy to have a couple handy at all times.

I bought the aqua dry bag, but haven't had to use it yet.
I am looking at getting the DryCase from drycase.com. They have a 100 feet depth rating, that's good for going diving as most everything is 65+ and higher that is worth looking at.
anyone have any reviews on that product?

the purpose behind this is normal silica gel, you can get this from most supermarket in a containner, alot cheaper than the dry bag.
I have also been looking for a waterproof case for my GS3, but not really interested in the film-bag things that prohibit long term use. I know they make some waterproof cases for the iPhone that can be used all day, every day, and I am thinking something along those lines would be perfect for our phones. I go fishing and hunting quite a bit and would love to get my hands on a case that offers some strong protection and is also waterproof.

Hello fellow Acro S users. Can I ask what method you've used to root the Acro S. I have seen the method for the SO-03D. I wonder if It's the same as the Acro S.
Btw, so far i'm very satisfy with this fone. Very smooth and stable. Three front touch buttons no longer clumsy as the Xperia S. MicroSD Slot. Water resistant and strong design. What's not to love.
And mind is black. I wanted a white but they don't have have one for me :crying:
I'm wondering...since the phone is named "LT26w" and the Xperia S is "LT26i" might it be possible to flash the Xperia S ROMs and Kernels to Acro S too?

The SO-03D (Japanese version of the Acro S) can be flashed with Xperia S Rom. I am pretty much sure that the Acro S can do too.

Hey i read on a site that the phone is good but it's not as beautiful as it looks on pictures, is it true? I want to have one actually I have Xperia S now
I live in NYC just picked up a white LT26w yesterday from [email protected] Pretty fast and smooth, but my Galaxy S2 running AOKP seems a bit quicker.
I have a few issues with buttons and skinned ICS.
I was also hoping for the camera to be better. It seems the lens and sensor are OK, but the camera app is crap. AF isnt good, bad UI and a little buggy.
One thing I love is the waterproof design. Looks great and I used it in the pool taking underwater photos on and off today for about and hour total. As long as the waterproofing doesnt fail easily ill be happy with this phone.
One bad thing about wet finger tracking is tyat any water that drops or initally touches the screen registers a click.

Yeah, that thing is bugging me too. You need to clean the screen to get rid of the water to use the touch screen accurately again. But It's not as bad as the 3 front touch buttons of the Xperia S.

Did you receive it in its original box? I really dont think they would sell it without the dock since.. it lets you just charge it without having to pop off the MicroUSB cover each time, keeping the waterproof seal healthy.

I have the original box, user manuals, a EP800 charger, USB cable but not the dock. In Vietnam I didn't see any shops or retailers who offer the Acro S with a dock. Easy old trick is a sandwich bag and a little silicone. I know fishermen friends who did that with the Motorola bricks back in the day. But your real issue is the capacitive touch screen. It'll probably not pick up your fingers. Ever tried to use your phone with a drop on the screen? Tends to throw it off.

Geez, $40? IMO, for that kind of price, I think it would be beneficial cost wise to use the sandwich bag gimmick as stated above but find someone with one of those airtight bag sealers to protect the device furthermore. That's pretty much what that dry case is anyway, just in a more easy to use, continual usage, professional looking wrap.

Has anybody found a waterproof case for the One yet? I'm looking for something similar to LifeProof for the iPhone or Otterbox's Armor series. It doesn't need extraordinary depth protection, just a few feet for use in the pool.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's not available to the public yet, unfortunately. Says that it would be added during the manufacturing process. It would be awesome if companies started using this tech!

Ships From the USA so you wont have to wait 2 weeks to get it...

I posted this before somewhere and I got laughed at just because I wanted to reddit in the shower. Made the Z so tempting but it's not coming out in the US so it made my One decision easier. Haha.
I just read into it a little but how does that HzO stuff work. The way it seems is it just puts a waterproof bond in every crease and crack. But that would ruin the speaker/grille as well as mess up the buttons so I'm sure that's not how it works. Anyone understand it better than I that would care to explain?
