Blasted from my Epic4GTouch con XDA-PA

Their store is ****. No updates, apps stop working etc.
I wouldn't buy any app from amazon.

I have never bought an app on their store. I just use for the free app of the day However, for the apps I have gotten that way there have been updates pushed out in a timely manner.
Blasted from my Epic4GTouch con XDA-PA

I just use the app store for the free app of the day. I like tricking myself to think I'm saving money by buying apps I would never purchase. Although there are a couple of them that are good, like document editors, the printershare, some games. It's just routine now to purchase the free app of the day for me.
They already take my money in their real store anyways.

Now all we need is titanium backup, uloops pro and root explorer and Im gravy.
If Google's gonna keep this up, they'll COMPLETELY win back any Market customers they might have lost to Amazon.
Nice move, Google:
"Instead of 1 free app, wouldn't you rather choose from a dozen apps that only cost a dime?"
Um...
Yes.
I love how sometimes it's the simplest ideas that work.
Got 5 new apps for $.50 and they look like pretty decent time wasters. Very nice.

can anyone help me i tried to download Swift key but after purchase i accidentally clicked refund and now it wont let me install because it says it has to be purchased
I like the playerpro sooo much but its too pricey, they could add that to the sale. Asphalt on the other hand is a GREAT DEAL, HD game from gameloft for 10c OMG.
To celebrate this milestone, we partnered with some of the Android developers who contributed to this milestone to make a bunch of great Android apps available at an amazing price. Starting today for the next 10 days, we’ll have a new set of awesome apps available each day for only 10 cents each.

I was playing around with Paper Camera today. Holy crap that's such a cool app. How did I not know about it?
There are some good apps on there. That Sketchbook app isn't cheap either. I had to grab most of the ones I didn't already have. Thanks OP!

Ran across this sale by accident.
Anyway, it looks like they are going to have 10 apps for $.10 for ten days.
Pretty cool.
Also, it looks like some of these apps were also offered as free from Amazon. I almost got Paper Camera and Sketchbook Mobile again until I checked my Amazon apps list. That's $.20 saved for 2 more apps tomorrow
Amazon drm sucks. So I just bought paper camera for 10 cents

Google Play store updated again

Noticed this today! I kind of like where they're going with this, also love the $.50 games (picked up dead space!) and the $.25 Anthony Bordain book I bought today, they're just giving this stuff away! haha.
I think those cheap prices are a limited time. Other than that yea they are doing a $0.25 app per day trying to do the same thing the Amazon AppStore does but with a small price.

Wonder if these will be like the 10 cent apps where they change every day, or if they will be the same apps the whole 5 days?

How the heck did it last this long already?
I only bought mobile Odin pro
I'm kinda careful on what I spend on, I won't spend it on angry birds, that's why it lasted this long

Thanks for sharing. I have a play store balance of 0.39 and had no idea what to do with it. Lol.

AFAIK, you can't use that $10 credit on the Play Store

Does GameStop, Radio Shack or Target offer NFC payments?
If so go there, buy a gift card and use the 10 dollars from the Wallet credit to buy it.
Added London Bus Checker and magazines
Are they having new app today?
Nothing worthy
Is it only in the US that you can buy movies to own? In Canada all I can do is rent
that office app is an awesome deal, it was like 16.99 before I think

Returning my Fire Phone

I picked up a Fire Phone during the Black Friday Firesale. I've given it a month to see if I could use it, but it spent the last week in my glove compartment. I just feel like FireOS is too limited. It's not any one thing, more like a bunch of small annoyances added up.
Pros:
Love the hardware
Integration with Amazon services is nice (Audible, Prime Video)
Most gapps work sideloaded
Cheap
Cons:
The whole OS is designed to sell you stuff. I don't like paying money (even just $200) for ads.
Doesn't feel like a true Android experience, even after sideloading Play Store and changing launcher.
At the end of the day, it's a phone I didn't use. I'd rather lug my LTE iPad mini around than use this phone. Even with a year of Amazon Prime ($50 since I'm a student), I can't really justify keeping it.

The reason why I'm happy with it is because my sister wanted a phone and the max. she was willing to pay was US $125 for the price I got it for ($199 which includes a year of prime which I sold the other 4 slots for $25 a piece to people on a forum...) this makes the phone just $100 for that price you really can't go wrong, I'm running Google Play Store on it with Google Now Launcher.

I'm glad it worked out for you. It really was a close call for me. So far I'm really happy with the Moto G. It's not as snappy as the Fire, but it's so nice to have vanilla Android.
While I'm sure Amazon will go under because you returned the phone, I don't get this whole "selling you stuff" and "ads". While it's true we cannot root the phones and install and adblocker, I'm not seeing all of these "ads" you're referring to. The ad-supported apps are certainly functioning by providing ads so we can have the app for "free", but otherwise, these ads that you're telling us about don't seem to be there. Amazon hasn't sold me anything, although they certainly designed the phone to make it easy for amazon customers to purchase from amazon. Other than some free apps that didn't work, as not all apps will work with the Fire Phone, I really haven't experienced any of this horrible "selling" and "ads" that you have found.
