Noticed this today! I kind of like where they're going with this, also love the $.50 games (picked up dead space!) and the $.25 Anthony Bordain book I bought today, they're just giving this stuff away! haha.
I think those cheap prices are a limited time. Other than that yea they are doing a $0.25 app per day trying to do the same thing the Amazon AppStore does but with a small price.

Has anyone noticed the lack of updating from the Amazon Appstore? I bought Friendcaster because I had a gift card and it has worked great. However, it updated yesterday and there is still no update from Amazon. How do they expect to keep customers when they don't keep up with easy updates? Never again for me.
Has anyone else had this issue? Is there any solution I haven't thought of?

Devs update much quicker on the Play Store than on the Amazon Appstore. I learned this very quickly when getting Amazon's free app of the day. There have been some apps that I bought on the Market for this very reason. Sad thing is, there is a bug preventing me from buying some of the apps on Play that I have in the Amazon Appstore. It says purchased in the Play Store even though I have not purchased it and there is no fix for it(that I know of). Google has known about it for some time and still has not corrected the issue.

Between that, the DRM, the Amazon App telling me of updates that aren't there, and the generally not-too-impressive freebies I no longer use the Amazon Store. I went ahead bought the couple of apps that I did use from the Play store and I haven't looked back.

There is a work around which lets you purchase them again and it's on XDA
Being from UK I use to use the work around to get the Amazon app store over here. It stopped working months ago for me so needed to get apps again from Play store. The post linked to works perfectly.
I complained and Amazon refunded me. That was cool of them but I am done getting my apps there.
Good morning! I have AppSales installed to let me know of any bargains on the Play Store and today it flashed up with a load of new sales inc. Need for Speed - Most Wanted! I got it for 73p! ($0.99).
Just thought I would share this for anyone who hasn't got it but might be considering
Should have posted in the games thread instead of making this thread. That is what its there for.

Google Play Store is having a Summer Game Sale with games up to 80% off. Including Assassin's Creed Pirates for only $0.10. :good:
you probably missed half the stuff since it started a little over a week ago
looks to be almost over as i don't see much on sale for today..
and the reason that game is 10 cents is because it's crippled which means you probably need to spend more money in the in-app store to make it playable, and from what i gather get ready for incoming spam notifications.
one thing i've learned is to stay away from apps with in-app store, i really despise them and it's becoming abused..
I picked up a Fire Phone during the Black Friday Firesale. I've given it a month to see if I could use it, but it spent the last week in my glove compartment. I just feel like FireOS is too limited. It's not any one thing, more like a bunch of small annoyances added up.
Pros:
Love the hardware
Integration with Amazon services is nice (Audible, Prime Video)
Most gapps work sideloaded
Cheap
Cons:
The whole OS is designed to sell you stuff. I don't like paying money (even just $200) for ads.
Doesn't feel like a true Android experience, even after sideloading Play Store and changing launcher.
At the end of the day, it's a phone I didn't use. I'd rather lug my LTE iPad mini around than use this phone. Even with a year of Amazon Prime ($50 since I'm a student), I can't really justify keeping it.

The reason why I'm happy with it is because my sister wanted a phone and the max. she was willing to pay was US $125 for the price I got it for ($199 which includes a year of prime which I sold the other 4 slots for $25 a piece to people on a forum...) this makes the phone just $100 for that price you really can't go wrong, I'm running Google Play Store on it with Google Now Launcher.

I'm glad it worked out for you. It really was a close call for me. So far I'm really happy with the Moto G. It's not as snappy as the Fire, but it's so nice to have vanilla Android.
While I'm sure Amazon will go under because you returned the phone, I don't get this whole "selling you stuff" and "ads". While it's true we cannot root the phones and install and adblocker, I'm not seeing all of these "ads" you're referring to. The ad-supported apps are certainly functioning by providing ads so we can have the app for "free", but otherwise, these ads that you're telling us about don't seem to be there. Amazon hasn't sold me anything, although they certainly designed the phone to make it easy for amazon customers to purchase from amazon. Other than some free apps that didn't work, as not all apps will work with the Fire Phone, I really haven't experienced any of this horrible "selling" and "ads" that you have found.
This post is mainly for people without access to Underground apps:
I contacted Amazon and they are very restrictive on what can be done with these coins (pretty much nothing but spending them)...
So I was curious, if you were to spend that many coins in something, what would it be? I already have a bunch of the apps that I got from the free app of the day so all I ever wanted to buy, already got it for free...
Anyways guys, can you share me some of the apps that you would get with that many coins? Chances are I don't have them all and I will buy them and give them a try for you!
Let me know guys.
Don't suppose you got a fire TV because there's a few exclusives on there that look quite good. Also I'd get the Amazon studio games like till mornings light and adventures in deep space as they actually utilise some of the fire phones features. Well OK, they use dynamic perspective.
I dont have a fire TV sadly, I think it is overpriced imho
