I have missed some really good free apps from the amazon fee app store because I failed to look on a daily basis so I want to ask everyone to post here when they come across a good app worth something when it comes up.
If you see an app that you think others would benefit from, post it here and those subscribed to this thread will hopefully get the notification while it is still available for free.
Thanks to anyone who posts something good here!

Good idea. I receive an email everyday from Amazon, so I usually check the free app. Most of the time the free app tuns out to be a game, but as noted there are good apps that come up as well. I'll start posting a link to the free app every morning. Hate to see people miss out on the freebies.

Thanks for the posts here, but my intention with this thread was to have a place to notify when a free app comes around that is something special. Like the DocsToGo app or something more substantial than another game, y'know?

GoContacts does that. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jbapps.contact&hl=en. I've used it quite extensively, even up until yesterday (did a fresh install of Affinity) and it works very well. Has a lot of the features of the sense dialer and adds a lot more customization and organization.
It's perfect! Thanks!

nice app thanks
I have fallen in love with pretty much everything made by the Go Team! And the fact that everything is FREE doesn't hurt at all.
Go Contacts or Dialer One work very good. I have used both and each have their pros and cons, but well worth a look!
Acontacts is my favourite so far. Smoother and faster than GoContacts. I think it's actually the fastest of all dialers. You can add functionality with the available plugins...

This is against law and against privacy to monitor conversations. This also applies to children in civilized societies.

Agreed. If more parents cared about their kids, there wouldn't be so many troubled teenagers, so many teenagers turning criminals and the like. Even when the kids are the trouble, kids are often targets for other criminals, from bullies to pedophiles.
That is not spying... that is caring and if I had kids, I'd do the same and more: having a web proxy at home.

Cerberus app... then view from cerberusapp.com... you can check text, call log, location, lock and unlock it, as well listen in for up to five minutes at a time. Its a very powerful anti theft tool no to be abused...not even by a concerned parent.
you definitely wont gain much of a trust from your son.

Is this a free or paid app??
I think you can do this with Cerberus app on market but you would have to have it installed on his phone then activate the app then hide it then you can fully control his phone
Trust is a bi-directional thing. If you do not trust your son perhaps you should express your thoughts to him and after talking it through reconsider if he should wield the power of text communication at all.
If you monitor his communication without him knowing it you will have broken his trust, possibly forever. If you tell him, he is just gonna order his crack on a friends phone.
Sorry but there are no shortcuts in parenting.
This is just a thread for thoughts and ideas that people want to share!
I like apps and after owning windows 7, iPhone and android I have an idea for how apps should look like, if anyone own iOS they can tell you tweetbot is one of the best apps on it, or android tweet lanes looks really good but needs speeds performance, anyways I would like to know what apps you like the a lot but would love to be updated to ICS Holo look and feel, IMO the app that I used the most is Tapatalk, probably the best money I spent on android app so far(and titanium backup anyways the app is great but miss the ICS feel, I wish they could updated to make it feel more Holo look and feel like tweet lanes, swiping will be cool to go from recent to favorites , what app would you like updated?

I would love for the HD netflix app to be updated.
I'd like the Hotmail app to be renamed to "Outlook" and completely redesigned/updated to match the web interface of the new Outlook.com email client released by Microsoft.
And for those who don't know what I'm talking about, the new Outlook.com really does compete and even beat out Gmail in MANY aspects including features, simplicity, and attachment size allowed.

For me it is not about the ads. It is about throwing a few bucks to the dev for the hard work they put in. That's why the ads are there in the first place. I don't mind supporting them. If I like an app and they have a pay app I will buy it. A couple of bucks is a small price to pay for useful software.

I agree, but when the only difference between free & paid apps is the ads I specifically won't pay because that tells me the dev is only out for $$, and that portrays greed....something I will never condone.

Lol really? If the developer was greedy he would of made it a paid app from the very beginning. I don't mind giving some money to the developer for his good work on a app that I use from a day to day basis.

I don't think they have group messaging. I mean you can receive group messages but when you send via group messages you send each message individually. Not sure if developer fixed it yet. That's only thing from keeping me from using chomp SMS for now

I know I am getting off topic, as well as responding to a really old thread, and I apologize, but I just have to respond here. I agree with hp420 that we should not support greedy (or arrogant) developers. However, developers who only add ads to their free apps rather than crippling or time limiting them are the very opposite of greedy--especially one as useful and popular as ChompSMS! They are being incredibly generous, and they are the ones I am MOST likely to pay. Then again, I am about the only person I know who actually pays for shareware on my computer if I use it frequently--partly from appreciation, and partly because I want to give them incentive to keep it updated.
Falcon pro is a Twitter app which is very popular on android.
Today Verges posted an update regarding Falcon Pro and its future. In short, the app is now free and available as a direct download from http://getfalcon.pro. You'll need to side load the app if you decide to download it from the site. You can enable side loading of apps by launching your Settings app and going to Security, then checking the box next to "Unknown sources."
Simply making the app free and releasing it for all to download outside of the Play store doesn't solve the token issue, though. In order to get around the limit, you'll need to find a hidden custom log-in screen.
Start by tapping the falcon on the main page, then tap and shake your way to the custom log-in notification. If you're not patient enough to try and figure it out, or you just want to use the app without jumping through hoops, you can find instructions here.
The workaround is brilliant. By allowing users to create their own Twitter application keys and in the process their own tokens, anyone can log in to Falcon Pro and use the app to its full potential. Visit this page on Twitter's developer portal and create your own application. The app name you use will show on every tweet you send through the app, so make sure you pick something that shows off your personality. Before we go on to the next step, e-mail yourself the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.
