Hello. I expose my problem. I'm at a university and i want to connect my fone with the wi-fi but some applications like viber don't work because of the general firewall. I want to know if there is an apk to disable this fire wirewall. Something like frozenway on pc.
That should not be problem with your phone, it's wireless router..
Maybe cant resolve ip adress.

Normally as you all know that , we can connect internet via phone's internet. It's called teethering.
The thing that i want is different. I want to learn how can i connect internet from mobile with the connection of my PC ?
Because sometimes , in some places there is no wireless connectin, only ethernet connection. So i want to use in this time.
I will appriciate for your comments
Search Google for an application called "Connectify" it will let you achieve what you want (i.e. reverse tethering).

hello to all friends
to day i bought a new xperia arc s then i update it to 4 now it cant find my nokia wifi i am using jokuspot for my nokia
i used wifixmanager but problem not solved if any one can solve this problem
thanx
have you checked whether can you find that wifi using another device such as a laptop?
hello
it also cant find laptop wifi but my laptop can find all ad hoc wifis becoz in afghnistan we have problem of signal in home i am potting my nokia in the roof of house and using wifi with jokiuspot in my nokia but unfortunatly i cant use my arc s plz help
If I am correct, android phone by default cannot connect or detect an ad hoc connection. You need to root it and modify something.
If you are running windows on pc, you could try using Connectify. It lets you share Internet connection as access point instead of ad hoc which android phone could detect and connect.
You could use a laptop to connect to the ad hoc first then share the connection using the software above.
Kinda troublesome but it is the only solution I can think of right now.

Stock ROMs will not show ad hoc, and their is no workaround for it. Try CyanogenMod, it can detect ad hoc networks.

I got this phone and now I know about the problem with the wifi I cannot connect to any network via dhcp. The phone just keeps looping but it never gets up. I read a lot about this issue and some people is blaming the routers which is wrong. how is it possible that my pc, nexus 7, smart tv, receiver and blu ray are connected and my phone not?
I am able to connect if I put static ip. But when I want to connect to a public wifi or hotspot which requires to enter a password on a web page I can't.
So is there really a solution beside changing the phone or putting static ipĀ”

I was wondering if there was anyway I could use the S3s wifi connection for a laptop. Not tethering using 3g

Do you mean like this:
Wifi Hotspot > S3 > Laptop
?
If you do, you could use CWM tether (its usb tethering) or Wifi tether for root users (works if your phone is connected to Wifi but some people have had issues with that, I have not)
Kinda like ad-hoc but having it emit from the phone

Let me see....
You have someone Wi-Fi key stored in your phone, and want to share it to your laptop?
Try with Bluetooth, or in Play "Wi-Fi key recovery"
Also you can clone your phone mac address.

Tethering is using 3G. There's no other way to share data. Are you rooted?
Yeah...what he said...because if its wifi to phone to laptop then you might as well connect to the wifi directly right? Idk, I still dont really understand what you're trying to do
One of my laptops doesn't have a 5Ghz network card and since my phone can connect to that band, I was wondering if there was an ad-hoc like thing for android.

I'm still not understanding what you want to do. Why don't you just connect to the network from your laptop and leave the phone out of the process?
This phone can not emit WiFi and use WiFi at the same time. Does that answer your question?
Alright it answers my question

Ahh ok, I've done that before on an OG evo AND evo shift, so it is possible...now whether it would work on this phone, I' don't know, some people have had issues but look around and try all the apps you can find to see if they will do the trick
I used wifi tether for root users v2.2/v2.1 (can't remember which one it was) and it worked flawlessly, just a lot of battery drain but thats to be expected
You can use your WiFi and tether at the same time?
I can USB Tether WiFi (like a network adapter), but I've never been able to tether my WiFi connection.
I'm currently having issue with my Wifi Tethering with the TrevEMod. it keeps saying "What the hell...." i've searched thru the forums and tried all the fixes and it still disconnects. Any word on this?

I recently installed Orbot and tried USB tethering with it on my Mac. It worked great, but now when I turned it off to tether without connecting to the TOR network using Orbot, web pages are stuck forver loading and my network monitor is measuring the speed in a few bits. Almost like it is stuck or there's a chokepoint somewhere. Wifi works fine on the handset. How can I fix this? Orbot seems to have fried my tethering. I tried rebooting my phone and plugging the usb back in and out and turning tethering on and off but no luck. It works fine when I use TOR.

I have no experience with orbot but typically to use tor you redirect uour traffic to it voa a proxy setting. It sounds like youre stuck using tor proxy settings when you want direct connect.
See if orbot has any proxy setting options you use to revert back.. or see if there are apps available to check or mod uour peoxy settings (there must be)..
