Recently when I have been downloading something then I get a phone call the download is still in progress. I was under the belief that the DINC2 or any non 4g phone, was unable to do voice and data at the same time. I know someone is going to say, "maybe the download just stopped when you got a call then resumed afterwards. " that's not the case. The sites I download from do not support resuming interrupted downloads. Any ideas?
Btw this has happened on more than one occasion and with multiple files types. None of the files are broken and work as intended.
**Note** I am not always so lucky, most of the time the download fails. It seems that when I get a short phone call, less than two minutes, that's when the download continues through the call. Longer calls make the download fail.

Wifi or network data?

Network data.

It's not that the download continued, it's that it pauses for a certain amount of time before autocancelling.
Yeah it just paused the download this device only has the one radio

I thought that once you answer your call then it would cancel the download. Thanks for clearing this up for me, I was a bit confused because I know shouldn't be able to download anything and receive calls at the same time.

it cannot use same time, this may control by Tel operator

About 2 weeks ago my phone stopped receiving SMS on the reg. They are ranging anywhere between 20 min to 2 hours to receive. There is no delay when I send to people, just on the receive. I've flashed back to sense and did a PRL and Profile update then restored CM 7.1. Sprint just says it's due to high usage due to the weather...not buying it. Weirdest thing about it being my wife's phone has the same issue and it developed at the exact same time. Running cm7.1, clockwork and savagedzen 2.2.1 BFS HAVS on both. I've also tried flashing to tiamat 4.0.7-799 w/sbc and same issue. Up to any suggestions
Is the wife using an EVO? Try a different ROM combo for a few days and see if this helps. How about CM7-RC1 after a full wipe?
You'll find the sweet spot
Grab the app Gingerbread SMS Ghostly, has grabbed quite a few lost texts for me.
https://market.android.com/details?id=it.sineo.android.GhostSMS&feature=search_result
Tried ghostly. Didn't work. The messages seem to come through if I place a call. I've resorted to calling my voicemail to check my text lately. I'm using 7.1 rc1. I did flash sprint lovers rom and sent myself a text with no luck either. Are there any network settings with sense based rom that can be checked/modified?

You will probably have to call sprint and be cranky, as its most likely a network issue.
They've reset my data a few times now and claim they've done all they can. I had the call escalated the last time and nothing really came of it. Seems like when I call them with the issue the text come through within 2 minutes. They claim anywhere up to 30 min is considered not an issue. Its BS. Since cellphone met text it's been near instant. My crappy Nokia block phone did just fine. I could understand if there was a national emergency but there is no reason for any lag. Ill call them again tomorrow. My wife sent me a message at 753pm and it is currently 10, No message

Did u change/update PRLs around the same time this started happening? Sprint changed a bunch of PRLs recently and now some people get terrible data. PRLs are mostly location based. So due to contracts with other carriers, your phone may be connecting to different towers and data is routed differently. Try a different prl for the hell of it

no, hadnt made any changes to the phone. played around with a few prls and radios and no luck still. so far sprint has managed to give me $50 credit but no working phone.
I don't really know then man. Hmm. Try a data profile reset from the epst menu. ##3282# enter your msl, hit edit go to data profile and hit menu and then restore.
The phone will reboot itself and renew its data profile connection and prl etc all in one shot. Aside from that, I would think its a network type issue. Especially since its both of your phones.

Well...basically did that with my phone while on the phone with sprint last night. sat on the phone for 76 min (40 of that being on hold). I was using her phone to make the call. Got disconnected after all was said and done. Tried to call sprint back via 611 and automated message told me my account could not be authenticated or something to that nature. Long story short had to rerun activation using EPST reset. Her phone now works. Flashed it back to CM7.1 rc1 and hers is working correctly. Going to try to flash back to sense today on my phone and let it work its way through the reprogramming and I'll place a call or 2 from sense and wait a few before flashing back to CM. Thats the last thing i can really think to do.
On another note, I have found a temporary work-around on my issue for my phone. Google Voice has an option to intercept text messages. I turned that on and google voice gets them instantly. Only thing annoying is I dont have an SMS count anymore. ADW notifier will show a "?" on the icon for google voice. I guess that notification marker will do for now. Other than that, its a tolerable solution til i find the real one.
Sorry homey, I know it can be frustrating. But yeah try again with sense and see what happens. Best of luck.

I did a search and didn't find anything similar to my issue. I'm running EVO Classic ROM and have had no issues with texts until today. My texts just aren't coming through, and when I make a phone call I get a flood of texts. I've restarted my phone already.
Any ideas?

common things that could mess with txt msgs are airave, setting radio to cdma only and sprint towers acting goofy.
try checking ##3282# and see what evdo is set at. should be auto.
The same exact thing happened to me too! I thought i was the only one but guess not. I searched for answers here on line to figure out what the problem was and i never fixed it. I ended up having to unroot and take my phone into sprint and i got a refurbished Evo 4g for free.

Nothing has changed on my phone, i'm getting 4 bars right now. This is very frustrating.
I completely understand. I went through the exact same thing for over a month. Is there anything in particular you did to your phone right before it happened? Just wanting to see if we can try and figure out whats causing it

When I had the problem i chanhed roms like 7or 8 times and it kept happening on all of them, it wasn't an application causing it either because right when my phone booted up after flashing a rom, a would do a test call or text and my phone wouldn't ring. As soon as i placed my first call i would recieve the missed message.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
It's usually because there's a problem in the area or the prl.

I had called Sprint several times and had them do everything on their end to fix it. They updated prl, profile, (ive also done this myself several times as well), they refreshed the signal on their end, they did about everything they could and i did everything i could do but nothing fuxed it. You can use Ghostly Sms from the market to catch the some of the missed messages, it didnt catch them all for me and it wont help withissing calls. Sprint also said it gad nothing to do with the area or towers and also my fiances phone is working just fine anyways.

Maybe you're right and Sprint just won't admit it..
Today the issue seems to have gone away, i'm receiving texts just fine now.
It's normally temporarily (24 hours-1 week) unless it's your prl. But like you said, just randomly went back to normal. Happened to me a few times on cm7.

I have tried everything, updated prl, updated profile, restored backups. nothing. It sits there and tries to send for a good ten seconds, then says message not sent. every ten or so texts one leaks through but that is unacceptable. It is a stock rooted rom with cwm. I dont think its a network problem because my brother has a nexus s and says its working fine.
Have you contacted Sprint to have them run through hands-free activation again? Something might have gotten borked in your data nvram settings.
yes, they sent me to customer service and told me to take it into a store. I bought it used though, so i dont even know if they would replace it.

Call sprint again, have them reset ur "network profile" on they're end. After they do that, leave ur phone off for 10 minutes. Once its completely back on, do nothing for 1min 30 secs. Then send urself a text 3x
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Its very very important to turn ur phone off for about 10 mins every night. It allows an automatic reset to occur in the switch systen.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Sprint did this for me once and they had me make a phone call and stay on for at least a minute to make all the network connections then it was all good. You need to call Sprint again and do exactly what Lord said. It is also possible that some data settings were messed with since it is used. It might have even been flashed to an alternate carrier. So you need Sprint to reset everything and they can do this over the phone.
Well thanks for all the help, but as soon as I left the house it slowly started sending them again. thanks again.

Do you have an Airave at the house? If so reset it.
Every day or two it seems like I am having calls not ring the phone and go straight to voicemail.. I get the voicemail alert right away if they leave a voicemail.. if no voicemail is left then I have no idea that anyone called.. anyone else seeing any issues like this? I'm am rooted and on stock deoxed.. Just wondering what is up with this, as it is Def annoying! Other than this one issue, I am loving this phone.. wondering if I need to do the update to correct this..

My wife called me today and it did not show in my call log. I am running stock rooted. I called sprint and they said I am having 3% of my calls blocked since I got my phone. They are escalating the issue and said they will get back to me in 72 hours.

Looks like I'm gonna have to call Sprint in the morning then.. I need to call them anyway as I need to have them ship me an s3 for my not for Christmas! Not bad for 99 cents

I'm glad I found this post. I'm also having the same issue. I was having missed calls but instant voicemails when I was stock unrooted and now also rooted on JellyBomb 11.0 ROM. It doesn't make sense because it will be in different areas where I always have Sprint Service. I have no idea what the problem is but guess I'm calling Sprint tomorrow
I've had this issue, but also had it on other phones. it's Sprint, the way the phone handles network switching or whatever. if a call starts during that split second your chip is don't something else, scanning towers, sending or receiving txt, receiving data, etc, you will miss the call. if it's a split second after the other thing has started, the call takes priority like it's suppose to and comes through. I think someone said even on Wi-Fi, when your cdma pings a tower or whatever it does, that initial half-second initiation also prevents calls from getting through.
I've also noticed txt messages won't send if you try to send the same split second of the cdma whatever(3g) initiating something else. like if you start to receive a txt right when you try to send one, it won't send. but a fraction after it starts to get one, it sends right after like nothing.
this has always been a huge problem for me at home because I'm right in a slight valley right on the
edge of 3 towers' coverage, so while I never quite lose signal anymore, like my htc phones did, it still is constantly switching between towers, so I miss a lot of calls and msg. everyone complains to me about not answering or calling them back but there like a third of my calls don't get through. but when I'm at work, it's low, like that 3% the other guy says. totally normal for Sprint! the same cause as why we can't data and call at same time. I had a evo lte for a few months, and I was getting most of my calls. I can only assume that's because it had 2 chips in it, which is how it did calling and data at same time.
that's my most disappointed thing this beautiful phone is missing.

Ok im having a constant problem with my note 2 . It seems to me that when im at work I am not recieving my msgs or calls when I am on full bars 4g, I only sonetimes get my emails. But today I got home and I automatically received all my missed msgs and voicemails on wifi . Is this normal because its annoying its been happening the last few days . Let me know what you think .
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Were you on the phone for a long time (1hour+) before that happened?
I think there may be a really big bug on the note 2. But it has to be triggered.
To trigger the bug: talk on the phone for 1 hour and 15 minutes or longer. After you hang up, it's like the radio is dead. You will not receive any calls. All calls will go straight to voicemail. To get the radio back, you have to reboot or toggle airplane mode.

The sad part I was not on the phone at all. It was in my pocket the whole time but I constantly kept checking the time thats how I know I had 4g full bars. To be safe im walking in to tmobile and ask to replace my sim card see if thats the problem .

I had that problem with my note. I just called tmobile and they reseted the network and everything was good

I get this problem every now and then at work. when i went into a t-mobile store they said they were working on the towers in the area
I went through this problem for almost a month straight. I tried everything I could think of. Using wifi calling, factory reset, wakelock apps to prevent sleeping, calling tmobile to reset stuff on their end. Nothing worked. I flashed back to stock and did an exchange. Its been 5 days and no problems.
I was getting no missed call notifications but a voice mail would show up. Then upon sending a text I would get flooded with all the missed texts/voice mails. This happened when I was stock originally and after I flashed jedi x7. For the few days that i was back to stock and got the OTA the phone worked fine but I didn't want to take chances.
