Please people.. i am tired of cyanogenmod. It is good. But i miss the HTC Sense. I have HTC Wildfire and i wanna remove it. Please, Please, Please! Help!
Thank you very much !
Full guides can be found by searching but basic steps are.
1.Download the Rom you wish to use,eg.Jokerdroid4.2 which is a very good sense Rom.
2.reboot into recovery
3.take a nandroid backup.
4.wipe everything except your sdcard,go through each menu in recovery and if it says wipe/format xxxThen wipe/format it NOT SDCARD.
5.flash the Rom zip you downloaded from recovery.
Possible issues.
1. You need cwm recovery 2.5.0.7
So might need to temp downgrade your cwm.if you get edify warning then this is the reason.
2. You may have to partition your sdcard for some sense roms.
This is a basic guide and like I said, search forums for details as everything you need to know is in here.

this means you forgot to flash a rom.choose recovery then goto install zip from sd and flash the rom you got on your sdcard.
if not got the rom on the sdcard yet then goto backup/restore and choose restore then choose the restore you made.
remember track pad to select.

Hello, people.
I have an HTC Wildfire with Cyanogenmod 7 (Android 2.3.3) and i want to unroot my HTC Wildfire. Can i Unroot it while i have Cyanogenmod 7 ? Will it automaticly be deleted? Will i get to the stock rom (Eclair 2.1)?
You dont have to answer all this. But i want you to answer this:
Will cyanogenmod 7 be deleted and i will get to the stock rom?

Yes running a ruu will unroot your phone by placing you back onto the stock HTC rom with android 2.2.1 froyo. And unbranded means that the rom doesn't have carrier branding, like 02 vodaphone 3 tesco mobile ect.

Just out of curiosity, are you going back to stock for warranty reasons or because your selling the phone?
If not did you know that there are custom stock roms which allow you to keep all the benefits of root and have a stock rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318 Look in this thread for Sense based roms (Rempuzzle or DK custom rom being the best 2) and if you need any help flashing them post here, someone will help.

Its not because i am selling the phone or something. Its because i wanted to unroot and then root again and have a rooted HTC Wildfire with stock rom. I will find a xda unroot guide and then i will post it here and ask if its a right unrooting method. I dont wanna get my phone ****ed.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA
You don't need to unroot to flash a new Rom, most roms are already pre-rooted, a stock Rom would need rooting, busybox a custom kernel etc etc installing the stock roms I mentioned would already have that part done for you and can be flashed from clockwork mod recovery, just download a sense based Rom put it on your sd card then reboot into recovery by powering off the phone, then press volume down and power to get to hboot use the volume buttons to select recovery then press power, once in recovery perform a backup, then select wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache then go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache, next choose install zip from sd card and find the rom, install it then reboot into your fresh new HTC sense Rom.
Those roms are custom though so they do have a few slight differences to a fully stock Rom such as new wallpapers that kind of thing.

Use the link i posted above
- Dowload the RUU
- Connect your phone to PC and run RUU
- This will downgrade your phone OS to eclair (android 2.1)
- Let it do the bizniss and when it boots and says finished on your PC,
you will have a ****ty phone. (but dont worry) because this is what
you want
- If it doesnt work, use another RUU and run it. Just make sure it says
2.1.x.x.x in the title to make sure u go back to android 2.1. and not
1.4 or something.
You will not have CM7 after this, or any remnants of it, it will just look like basic android. It will not be branded, i.e. it will not have t-mobile splattered all over it.

Lmao I'm glad you solved your problem but can I just say how much of an asshole I think you are! Everyone who has posted in this thread have just been trying to help you achieve what you wanted to do or like myself offer an alternative which would involves less work when rerooting your device which you did say you wanted to do.
Custom sense roms do not **** up phones especially the 2 I mentioned, its muppets like yourself that don't read instructions carefully and thoroughly, before I rooted my device I made sure I had all the tools and know how to put it all back to stock beforehand. Perhaps you should do the same next time.
Hi all, i was wondering if anyone has got the backup of stock rom(in the out of the box state) I forgot to backup mine when i was formating my SD card so i'm pretty much bummed now. Don't expect a nandroid backup from anyone as it can contain personal information and can also brick your device. If it needs be, look for the RUU you need, flash it and then make a backup (if on a custom ROM, back that up first)
IF SOMEONE is smart enough he can follow below steps:-
-restore stock rom
-flash stock recovery
-factory reset
-flash custom recovery
-make backup
I am quite sure someone has done this.

Well if that's the case I guess I'll stick to CM9,too much hassle for me right now...
Basicaly yes.
Only way to go back to stock is to flash clean stock ROM. Look around for threads about that( i can spell it out for you but well im not that big of a person )
On the other hand there are platy of good ROMs around so you dont HAVE to stay on CM9 wich is incompleat you can flash(many of them just highly moded stock roms with increased efficiancy).
Good luck !

Hi guys, maybe this has been asked before but however here goes, I have a ONE X rooted with CWM v5.0.8.0, I have taken a backup of my rom before I installed a custom rom (Venom ViperX) to which I had to use fastboot to flash the boot.img, if I want to restore to my original rom which I backed up before do I or must I use fastboot to flash that boot.img from the backup?
Any advice welcome and thanks in advance and apologies if this has been asked before

You must use fastboot to flash the boot.img that came with the original rom. Also don't forget clear cache.Or else you might get stuck in a boot loop. Also to make our lives easier to adjust to installing custom roms devs have come up with tools like..."Fastboot Flasher" which does all the typing and actions for you and its something that wont mess things up provided you haven't given the wrong input.
Hope that helps!
Cheers for all the input guys, that makes things a little easier to cope with and it also explains why my HOX wouldn't boot properly after restoring a backup.
All good now though

First, make a backup of your current, GB rom, and save it somewhere safe, like your computer.
Then you can flash ICS/JB, and if anything goes wrong, you'll just have to restore your backup.
