Stock Android ROM backup - HTC Wildfire S

Hi all, i was wondering if anyone has got the backup of stock rom(in the out of the box state) I forgot to backup mine when i was formating my SD card so i'm pretty much bummed now. So if anyone would be so kind as to upload the backup i would dearly appreciate it. And yeah,i'm in need of unbranded EU version. Cheers!

Don't expect a nandroid backup from anyone as it can contain personal information and can also brick your device. If it needs be, look for the RUU you need, flash it and then make a backup (if on a custom ROM, back that up first)

IF SOMEONE is smart enough he can follow below steps:-
-restore stock rom
-flash stock recovery
-factory reset
-flash custom recovery
-make backup
I am quite sure someone has done this.

Well someone must have the file from the last step. And it basically it means if I restore that my phone will brick if its not made on my device?
Well if that's the case I guess I'll stick to CM9,too much hassle for me right now...

Basicaly yes.
Only way to go back to stock is to flash clean stock ROM. Look around for threads about that( i can spell it out for you but well im not that big of a person )
On the other hand there are platy of good ROMs around so you dont HAVE to stay on CM9 wich is incompleat you can flash(many of them just highly moded stock roms with increased efficiancy).
Good luck !

[Q] How to extract original stock Rom?

How to extract stock Rom? The case is that I haven't done backup of my stock Rom branded by era provider.
Now some guy told me that he just bought desire z from era and his Rom is identical to RUU_Vision_HTC_WWE_1.72.405.2_R_Radio_12.28e.60.14 0f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF_release (available on this forum)
except radio code which is ending with fU instead f.
So if I would like to get Rom which is flashed on his device, to have exactly what was on mine on the beginning what and how it should be done?

Ok, if I understand you right, you currently have a phone with stock ROM, and you want to take a backup of that phone, correct?
If that's the case, I think you'll still need to root the phone in order to install Clockwork recovery. Once you have Clockwork, then you can take a nandroid backup of your phone. So I don't think you can grab a backup of stock ROM before it was rooted.

Yeah so this a problem. During rooting it is necessary to downgrade your soft to 1.34 what automatically force you to loose your stock Rom. :/

No no I wanted only to have a possibility to back to the stock Rom if my phone will have to be sent to service on warranty.
I know one guy from Poland who also bought a phone from the same telcom operator - era.
He gave me info that the stock Rom on his phone is:
12.28e.60.140fU_26.04.02.17_M2
While on the forum can be find the same but with one difference in radio code - only f instead fU
12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2 and can be found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=879384
But what does it mean this difference mentioned above and if it is negligible or not?

Well, unless you've flashed a custom radio, another option could be to extract everything from that RUU you found in the forum and flashing everything except the radio.
Although if you want to send your phone for warranty you'll probably have to do a bit more work to get s-on again...

I've flashed two ROMs first one was CM7-R2 and then I've decided to use Virtuous 1.0.1. I don't know if during that process also radio was flashed :/ Was it? I am new Android so I don't know some things yet.

I'm quite sure that flashing those ROMs do not change your radio. So if you need to send for warranty, I think you'll just need to flash the ROM part of the RUU (should be able to find a post somewhere which tells you how to extract just certain parts of the RUU) and then reflash partition 7 to get S-OFF. If you used gfree, it would have made a backup of that partition before it gave you S-OFF. Hopefully you still have it.

Yes running a ruu will unroot your phone by placing you back onto the stock HTC rom with android 2.2.1 froyo. And unbranded means that the rom doesn't have carrier branding, like 02 vodaphone 3 tesco mobile ect.

Just out of curiosity, are you going back to stock for warranty reasons or because your selling the phone?
If not did you know that there are custom stock roms which allow you to keep all the benefits of root and have a stock rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318 Look in this thread for Sense based roms (Rempuzzle or DK custom rom being the best 2) and if you need any help flashing them post here, someone will help.

You don't need to unroot to flash a new Rom, most roms are already pre-rooted, a stock Rom would need rooting, busybox a custom kernel etc etc installing the stock roms I mentioned would already have that part done for you and can be flashed from clockwork mod recovery, just download a sense based Rom put it on your sd card then reboot into recovery by powering off the phone, then press volume down and power to get to hboot use the volume buttons to select recovery then press power, once in recovery perform a backup, then select wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache then go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache, next choose install zip from sd card and find the rom, install it then reboot into your fresh new HTC sense Rom.
Those roms are custom though so they do have a few slight differences to a fully stock Rom such as new wallpapers that kind of thing.

Use the link i posted above
- Dowload the RUU
- Connect your phone to PC and run RUU
- This will downgrade your phone OS to eclair (android 2.1)
- Let it do the bizniss and when it boots and says finished on your PC,
you will have a ****ty phone. (but dont worry) because this is what
you want
- If it doesnt work, use another RUU and run it. Just make sure it says
2.1.x.x.x in the title to make sure u go back to android 2.1. and not
1.4 or something.
You will not have CM7 after this, or any remnants of it, it will just look like basic android. It will not be branded, i.e. it will not have t-mobile splattered all over it.

Everyone who has posted in this thread have just been trying to help you achieve what you wanted to do or like myself offer an alternative which would involves less work when rerooting your device which you did say you wanted to do.
Custom sense roms do not **** up phones especially the 2 I mentioned, its muppets like yourself that don't read instructions carefully and thoroughly, before I rooted my device I made sure I had all the tools and know how to put it all back to stock beforehand. Perhaps you should do the same next time.

Hi all..from another noob

Hey there. Just wanted to introduce myself(Jason). I'm gonna be getting the One V next week and am considering rooting it...just reading up and trying to understand everything right now. Won't actually do it till I'm comfortable that I know what I'm doing and why. Anyway, if you have any tips..always cool! take it easy!
Don't ever use combo buttons Power + Volume Up!
Well, the best thing to do at the beginning is to make some back up of your current stock ROM, before doing something like unlock your bootloader and/or rooting your phone...:good:
Just rooted today for my first time, it isn't as hard as you would think just follow the instructions and make sure u have a good amount of free time. Also like he said never boot holding the volume up, because that will brick you. And make a backup of your stock rom.
Welcome to the One V section
Hope you'll enjoy your stay here

Read instructions clearly

I was confused at this point too, there are basically two steps to rooting:
1) Unlocking Device Bootloader
1b) Booting ClockWorkMod to make a nandroid (aka backup image I think) of your current setup.
2) Rooting

[How to] Boot ALL Jellybean sense roms on cid unsupported devices

General Information
Since everything here is on fire because of the sense jellybean leaked firmware and many are crying that they do not have the appropriate CID to flash the new firmware, and some also replied to my post they are not able to boot with that UNOFFICAL and BETA METHOD i decided to write this short guide.
At first, i do not think that the rom flashed with this method is working as a daily for you, more a preview for when the devs found a way to bring the update also to carrier branded phones.
Things that are reported to work with trips 3.4.11 kernel but not with his 3.1.10 kernel are:
- Usb storage ( )
Things that will not work are:
- Sound
- Youtube App
- Wifi Dropouts, not for me but another person mentioned it
This method does not update your hboot. So you´re safe to go back. And one more time, this is just meant as a preview for now, so dont expect the full jellybean experience. be lucky that we have trip and can at least boot this
So here will be the general instructions for all jellybean sense roms.
1. Download your favourite jellybean sense rom and put it on your sdcard
A few of them:
ARHD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603 (not available for now)
IC: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1588669
Maximus: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601543
Ordroid: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836919
2. Download trips kernel from here: http://tripndroid.bindroidroms.com/TripNDroid_RVISED_3.4.11-002.zip put one copy on your phones sdcard and one on your pc
3. Repack trips boot.img found in the previously downloaded .zip with the ramdisk from the kernel which is included in your rom that you downloaded in the first step using this nice little tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1815607
Put the repacked boot.img in your fastboot folder
4. Boot your phone into fastboot mode and flash the repacked boot.img you downloaded using following commands
------> fastboot flash boot boot.img
------> fastboot erase cache
5. after this boot into custom recovery and perform a full wipe (including system, data, cache, dalvik)
6. flash your rom (just in case: tick none of the options in aroma)
7. flash modules from trips kernel which you placed in step 2 on your sdcard
8. boot into your jellybean preview.
Credits to shnizlon for the rom, to TripNRaVeR for his 3.1.10 kernel that offers this possibility , finally to chrisoverson for online repacker
I´m not responsible for anything you do to your phone!

Hi a few people have confirmed that it works, but there are some bugs as stated in the op, so you can give it a try to see what all the fuss is about and so that you don't have to feel totally left out, but currently it can't really be used as a daily driver

Already try it one the day 2.0.0 out.. but the most i hate is no in call sound.
about sd bug, I think it is because of vold.fstab, as the sd mount is different as ICS, that why it not detected in JB.
I tried this last night, and YES it does work.
However it's pretty unusable and i ended up flashing back to viperX. Still it was nice to sample Jelly Bean.

Every JB sense rom boot using trip kernel, just repack it and flash.. Already try all JB ROM, but no fun for me, as it is too buggy for unsupported CID.

your hboot is not upgraded while youre doing this procedure so you can easily flash back
and i also mentioned it´s most likely only for preview!
I try it my cid is t-mob101 and it work Sense jelly bean is nice but i have the Radio Bug..it works only if the screen is on...when it is locked and i turn it on i have Signal Bars but in lockscreen it shows no signal...it is Bad...but the hole rom is nice ..i hope someone fix the bugs

Every JB sense rom boot using trip kernel, just repack it and flash.. Already try all JB ROM, but no fun for me, as it is too buggy for unsupported CID.
@OP : Why don't you change the thread to "how to flash Sense JB on unsupported CID device" as it could boot all JB Sense ROM.

it could but the boot.img i provided is only for ordroid. i don´t think it will boot with insertcoin or arhd as they made custom ramdisk modifications. But you´re right, basically if you repack trips kernel with the jb sense roms kernel ramdisk it will boot i think
I will update the thread in the evening i´m busy now because i have to break up my grandmother´s garden that sounds funny and i hope it´s correct

why you need RUU or stock recovery? This is the same way to flash custom rom with our own choice kernel.

Back to GingerBread from ICS?

Hey hi all i want to ask all of you that i have HTC WILDFIRE S and If i install ICS in it and after there will any error or problem so is it possible to get back Ginger Bread 2.3.5 on my phone???
First, make a backup of your current, GB rom, and save it somewhere safe, like your computer.
Then you can flash ICS/JB, and if anything goes wrong, you'll just have to restore your backup.

Now you need an PG76IMG.zip in your sdcard's root and install it with hboot, then you need to reboot, turn off phone, go to recovery and now you can use your recovery for backup and install new roms
