Anybody else experience this error message when trying to play video through Skyfire?
Would be really happy to get this working, i have already reported this to the skyfire team months ago but still not fixed.
Is it working for anyone? If not search skyfire media error 1:-1005 and report it to them via the help page and check out the other posts.
Sorry im not able to post links as im new, also i searched the forum for this issue and found nothing.
Thanks for looking and any help will be greatly welcome.

Yes, I also get this error when trying to play videos with Skyfire. Looking at their forums, this problem was first reported in June and they still haven't fixed it!
A partial solution is to use the Puffin browser instead. Their servers do the media decoding for you, so you can see Flash videos. They're still a bit choppy, but that's one limitation of the Skyfire S that we have to learn to live with.
Yeah i've posted a few times over there as Rob M, latest reply from the staff member suggest they have more of an idea now and are working on a fix but i won't hold my breath!
Never heard of puffin but gonna give it a shot thanks for the heads up mate.
Also whats the story with flash for armv6? Im rooted installed, video tries to load then fails, tried loads of different .apk all give same results but some users are claiming it works fine. Am i missing something?

Flash 10.2 (there is also 10.3, but it's a fake 10.2) works with alquez's CM7.1 port. I haven't seen it work with any other ROMs.
Thanks mate, im really excited bout cm7 cant wait for a fully working stable release, so flash will have to wait till then

It's fully working and stable. (at least for me, and if you don't mind not having the flash for the camera, and video recording at the highest quality)
I think he also worked on the wifi/bt/gps driver so he should be updating it any day now. (for people who had wifi problems, I didn't.)
Ok might give it a try mate thanks!

Update: latest cm7 build is now perfect. Everything working how it should so for me skyfire is fine as this is now my main rom.
Sorry I can't help stock rom users.
PS: skyfires Dev team are slow and unconcerned about this problem, it was reported and acknowledged by them over 6 months ago but still no fix in sight.
Does anybody have any idea why this wont work on sense roms but is fine on cm7?
And is there a known workaround?

Anyone can port miui rom for wildfire
It's very nice .

Me and Jacob have been trying all day, havent got it working yet though. And when I'll get it booted there is ALOT to do. All the graphics need to be re-made cause of the Wildfires small resolution, and all the hardware stuff etc.
Hope you and jacob get miui working keep up the amazing work!

If I can help, let me know. I know nothing about programming, but I am a graphic designer and I can help with re-dimensioning images or stuff like that.

good luck. we are waiting.
This could be a very good project
That's pretty sad that we can't get MIUI.
But even sadder...as much as I love my wildfire, I'm going to put it into retirement soon. I'm tired of missing out on the apps that only work on HDPI devices. When I saw the same apps I have on a DHD, i was instantly jealous.
No doubt I will try out MIUI. Probably shell out for an N1 when the prices come down.

Nope, and I believe it will never be ported to the wildfire.
I have successfully ported the CM7 release to our devices. The kernel is made by Bobzhome, and without him I wouldn't have touchscreen support. There are many problems with it, but it boots, and texting and calling work. So does Internet. I need beta testers, so if you flash report error please report them here.
Flash like any other rom:

Simonssimons, great to hear you're developing, but alquez has the stablest release ever!
CDMA users have just to wait a bit. You can maybe share your kernel with alquez?

Bobzhome forked the kernel from alquez's github Then did a bit of cleanup/mod... I'm sure alquez is aware of it.

CDMA And GSM on this device are two totally different "Devices" in a way. GSM Wont even make it past HTC scrreen, believe me I tried. THanks to bob i currently have a V3 kernel, testing now. Working on everything. Fixed camera. BT is all thats not working. Id love if alquez would help me get it perfected. Id add him to the thanks area. Id also like to help him get a cdma version working. But im contuining my build for the VMUSA model at least. We have some major differences in network routing ect.
Edit: Also im down with pneumonia, im spending alot of time sleeping. The rest developing

I've been wondering how is the latest cyanogenmod 7.2 performing on the Desire. Are there any kernel changes since 7.1? I'm a sucker for Oxygen, considering switching to cyanogenmod though. Not really sure what the REAL differences are (aside from some crap apps they put in CM so I can remove them right away) between these two?
Last time I used it, pretty good. Stable above anything else. Not nearly fast as oxygen though.
I kinda like the cm toys, wish I had some of them available with oxygen
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
I use the latest RC of CM7.2 and it's a good experience. Not very different from CM 7.1, but might be much more stable than oxygen. The only time i used oxygen was with Mildwild, but this ROM was crashing like hell, so CM might be much more stable (except when using the inbuilt rights management).

I flashed it into a new inspire, and all I can report right now is success. No bug yet. Thing I've noticed is that my RAM's gone down to about 575. I'd really fancy accounting the rest of it. I'm kinda new to custom rom though (took me like 3 days from zero to perform the flash with AAHK).

You're on wrong forums mate.
Mine is performing quite well. Actually I haven't found much difference between the 7.1 and 7.2 either.
It is still very fast
Everything seems to be running smooth for my Desire as well.
Only issue I have, and it is not a new experience for me with CM, is that my in call volume is significantly lower than it is in the stock Froyo ROM from USCellular.
I can deal with it, but it makes phone calls a pain to hear in most cases.
Looking for a fix now.

With 7.2.0 i was loosing connectivity with mobile network, the phone showed no service message. When i have upgrade to 7.2.0.1 this problem was gone, but the whole system felt very slow and laggy. Even scrolling applications list was laggy, so i decided to not continue my story with Cyanogenmod and switch to anything else.

I upgrade my Desire BravoC to 7.2.0 from 7.1.0 and had to go back because it was contently rebooting every time I tried to install or update any of my software. The only reason I wanted 7.2.0 was because after awhile my phone shows up as not being compatible with certain apps in the market, the funniest thing is that it shows this for apps that I have already installed.
I can't comment on the network problems others are having, just because my wouldn't stay on long enough to test it.
Hi
I'm busy trying some custom ROM as i wanted to upgrade to android 4 (mainly for FLAC compatibility), to have app2sd and for the fun too
I first tried CyanogenMod 10.0.0-RC0 marvel/marvelc ALPHA0 by modpunk then CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC2 marvel/marvelc ALPHA7 by modpunk and Cyanogenmod 10 builds (WIP) [MARVEL] [UNOFFICIAL] by benjamin.
I know none are "stable" ROM but anyway they are working quite good.
With the first, i had 3G issue so i forget about it.
With the 2 other, i could not manage to make the GPS to work.
On CM9, the icon show that the gps is working, but it's keeping trying to catch the signal or something else, i let it about 15-20 minuts but no position available...
On CM10 by benjamin, the icon doesn't even show up...
As my phone is my only GPS, i need this funcyionnality.
Any way to make it working?
Many thanks
Nico

Hi all,
I'm new at xda and love to be involved with the devices. I searched something about my question but couldn't find anything that satisfy me. Thats why I made a post. If a made a mess, I already apologize for all.
I'm using Infrarom v0.3 on my Wildfire S and I'm very noob at android issues. So, could you please be clear?
my questions are:
1.What are the bugs of cyanogen 7.2? what makes cyanogen 7.2 better? or do you suggest me cyanogen 9 or higher?
2.What is the most battery-saver rom? cuz Infrarom is quite bad at battery performance.
3.Is there any restriction to get back in terms on kernel or something if I flash cyanogen or other roms?
King regards

The only bug remaining in cyanogenmod 7 is the usb tethering. It drains battery faster than stock roms too but it is the best among cyanogenmod roms.
Stock roms are the best at battery performance so I suggest you to have a look at this thread

yes I did all. wipe,flash.etc.. But, I didn't like it. it wasn't faster than my old Infrarom. Only the visual things are good. Also, I flashed Gapps and it works but i couldn't download any apps. because it doesn't download anything. Just waiting waiting and waiting... no error or something...
whatever. I will try another roms. Because I have to solve my problems. I can't talk with someone because of my handset. Sound is too low. I can't hear anything when I go out. I have to use speaker on every call. Do you know anything that make my handset sound higher? not the speaker just handset.
One more, touch menu buttons are not working. I tought that it is realated with the rom. Now, I think it isn't. Because there is no setting about it. And I changed my rom, problem is not solved.

Yeah... Cm7 is quite old and the problem might be because of the gapps.
Does that handset problem exist in every Rom? If it is solved by switching roms, it is a software problem. If It's not solved, it is a hardware problem and it is advised to take your phone to the service.
Touch input is mainly caused by improper flash of gapps. Try wiping it and flash everything again
