i havent seen any threads posted or anything here whats going on? did u sprint guys pass on the arrive or something?
I will probably get one off contract this week. Not a fan of the form factor, but I need to replace my Diamond ASAP.
Not on Sprint.
I ordered. Looking at other forums it appears that instore stock at most stores was very limited. No best Buys or Radio Shacks carried it. Amazon and Wirefly had it cheaper, but it wont be here until wednesday.
I got one on Sat 3/20, pretty neat so far. I catch myself using my old WebOS gestures sometimes.
I got one today (3/21) Had carried an EVO since day one. still have both. so far so good. the biggest reason Im most likely gonna keep the arrive is the zune player and zune pass.
I posted this review on sprintusers.com:
I came from the Hero running the latest official ROM (Android 2.1 I believe). I've actually extensively played around with WP7 prior to this so I'm very familiar with the OS. IMO there is no comparison between the two devices. It had gotten to the point where I didn't use my Hero for anything other than phone calls and SMS becaues it was so slow. And it wasn't as if I had a bunch of stuff loaded onto it. Even after hard-resetting and only loading absolute essentials (such as Exchange data) it was still SLOOOOW. (lags to switch between screens, pull up menus, open SMS, etc.)
The Arrive on the other hand is lightning quick for the things I want it to do. It loads apps very quickly and never seems to bog down. I've managed to load two exchange accounts as well as several GB of music and videos, sync with FB, etc., and it's still fast. Fast to make phone calls, fast to SMS, fast to load apps. As I said, I have extensively played around with WP7 (was able to borrow a friend's HD7 for several days) so none of this is a suprise to me. Software-wise it delivers exactly as I thought it would.
Comparing the hardware to the HD7 has been interesting. I thought I would find the screen too small on the Arrive but it actually seems to be ok. Definitely smaller than the HD7 (obviously) but not so small as to be a deal-breaker. The biggest surprise has been the quality of the screens between the two. The HD7 colors are very washed out and the screen in general is kind of "meh". The Arrive screen though, really POPS. Colors are nice and saturated and the screen in general seems sharper. My friend who owns the HD7 agreed during a side-by-side comparison. As far as weight, it is noticeably heavier than the HD7. However I think the Arrive feels higher-end than the HD7, even though there is a lot of plastic in both. I can't put my finger on it-- maybe because it's more dense, i.e. more mass in a smaller package, it just seems more substantial.
The keyboard is a pleasure to use-- I have not had a physical keyboard since my HTC Apache back in '06 (!) and I realize now what I have been missing. Very easy to type, intuitive key placement, and good tactile feedback.
All in all I'm very satisfied with the phone. The limitations of the OS have been discussed ad nauseum elsewhere, but as long as you are ok with those limitations you won't be disappointed.

my friend is picking his up today from wirefly
he has been wanting a windows phone since seeing my hd7 and dell venue pro. He likes it already and it's not even here

Haha. Im assuming your right
Well the Arrive/7 Pro has it's own Forum section at the verrrrrry bottom of XDA. Most of the posts are there.
I bought one for myself and one for my wife. I am really digging it, there are obviously some things that is missing, but the overall responsiveness and "just works" is great.
i just got mine and i've been trying to activate it for a while..being stubborn...

If it won't connect to sprint network/activate, go into your settings-->Cellular--> Change Network Profile/Update PRL.
I had to this on mine after the Sprint store activated it because it would not make phone calls/connect to the internet. My wife who got her activated at the same time by the same person did not have to do this.

yeah, that worked. i stumbled upon that a little after posting my last comment and 10 seconds after stumbling upon it, the person from sprint told me to do it.
All I can say about this phone is that this sht is immaculate!
Got mine sat. And I love it, was coming from the evo . I hate the evo and android but I do miss some of it's features! Don't think I'll look back
I pre-ordered mine and picked it up Sunday. I think the thing is very nice. I came from a HTC Hero. What surprised me is the thickness is only sightly more than the hero. It's noticeable but just slightly.
There are a few quirks to get used to, especially multitasking limitations. But the speed, flow and intuitive interface make up for that. Thinking about it, even though my rooted Hero did multitasking, the performance was so bad, it ruined the experience (same goes for my wife's Evo).
I still find myself using the soft keyboard -- but for the long/detailed email composing, you cannot beat having a physical keyboard (screen real estate).

I had two on pre-order. Picked them up on Sun. afternoon (3/20).
I entered my Live ID and had contacts, Xbox, ZunePass configured by the time I hit the parking lot. When I got in the car I added my main Hotmail account, and when I got home I configured it for Exchange. The rest was spent exploring apps (no, Steve Jobs, NOT "apples").
The wife was another story, she's spent a few days on the migration - mostly because she hadn't synced her phone with Outlook in the 30 days prior, she wanted to migrate her PST to another machine, and she hadn't properly configured Outlook to sync with Windows Live. (Edit: Here's the Live support forum thread on that issue)
She's getting where she needs to be - but I think migrating her old Calendar items are giving her problems. She's posted in the Windows Live support forums and I'll try to post a link to the issue later. It's not really a WP7 issue - just a sync issue she's having between Outlook and Hotmail Calendar.
So I guess how smooth it goes depends on how much you embrace the Windows Live "cloud" concept. In my case, I've never had an easier more care-free migration to a new phone. The wife's experience has been frustrating, but mostly because she's having to learn a lot of new things at once and of course she's in a big hurry. Procrastinators of the world unite... tomorrow - right?
My wife and I were at the mall today and I went into a Rogers store (Canadian cell provider), and was comparing the Focus to my Quantum.
A sales monkey came over to see if I needed help and we started chatting. I asked him if the wp7's had been selling he kinda laughed nervously and said he hasn't seen a rep sell one yet. He mentioned that one concern is the lack of multi-tasking. I kinda find that hard to believe. That used to be the rallying cry of all anti-apple people, yet they sold like crazy. And I've yet to see one 'in the wild'. Anecdotal I know, but kinda disappointing. I think it's a fantastic OS, I thought more people would be into it.
Many people are into it.
The sales man is only a sales man. He only wants to sell you what ever he thinks he can make money off.
As it stands the multitasking functionality is about the same as the iphone, but with MANGO on its way, that will be fixed.
Don't worry, generally sales rep don't know what they are talking about, they just know the basic/general stuffs.
If I'm the sales officer,I would not reckon this device to any customer, until 2nd gen of devices or mango are released.
@FooisM, most of the consumers not even know what is WP7,so,whats the point telling them about Mango?lol....
@JC_agga, yea true, they just know basic and general stuffs, that is what ordinary or normal customers want.

Not around here sadly. From the few stores around my place, if you don't have an Iphone, that makes you an idiot to them.
To be fair even after all the debacle i've been through with my Omnia 7 I would still reccomend WP7. The OS is just fantastic.
Samsung phones however... I will not reccomend!

I love my sammy Focus. When I went to the ATT store to get my wife the same phone, the salesman said good things about the phone, asked me about my experience. I didn't get any anti-wp7 vibe from my att store, but ymmv. By the time I decide to make a purchase, I find that I generally know a lot more about the items than the saleperson. Not always, not generally so.

In Portugal when I went to buy my Omnia 7in January the salesguy had a Mozart and he loved it, almost forced me into WP7.. LOL
No regrets about the OS nor about Samsung... My Omnia is running 7392 always officially updated and no problems so far...
Yeah, I don't know why ppl complain about Samsung. I think they're a great hardware company and I'm very happy with my Omnia 7. Before I had a Samsung Wave with bada, and it was nice too !! No problems at all !!
I didn't have any problems with the update on the Omnia 7 as well.
Well, if he is a cell phone salesman he is either very young probably not very knowledgeable or if older probably made a lot of mistakes in life to end up at that point.... In either event I wouldn't worry about it. Just enjoy your phone and rock on.

I am using the HTC trophy on Verizon. I went in to my local store and was asking about a charging cord (39.95 please), and i kid you not, the sales rep tried to get me to upgrade to an android phone. Im happy with my WP7, and have had android and didnt like it. So after telling the guy that i didnt need a new phone, i left. Now what upsets me is verizons lack of commitment to this OS. people want it, i want it, yet they only give you one phone (HTC trophy) with very low specs. My brother in law works for go wireless and his boss refuses to stock any WP& devices. And go wireless is essentially verizon. Thats is the companies stance on the OS. "no, no one wants that. Here, take one of these 45 android phones. They are way better. why? because they are android". Im so ****ing sick of all this verizon android basket. I dont want to switch to ATT to get a good device, but its making it look more and more probable with each passing day that verizon shafts the WP7 people. I know the kins didnt do so well, but thats verizons fault for requiring a data plan on a dumb phone. Point of my rant is this: i want something other than this trophy on verizon, yet they are making it so difficult to stay with them due to their constant hard on for android and their brief love affair with IOS. Another reason not to switch is i was grandfathered in to the unlimited data plan. Why must you make it so hard for me verizon!? I hate you, yet love your cell reception and unlimited data. Get more CDMA WP7 phones. How hard would it be to get that fujitsu number over here? not that hard i would assume. I would pay cash for that in a heart beat. Much like how i paid 400 some odd bucks the day the trophy came out for verizon.
/end rant
Amen, I feel the same way, if nothing is at least announced for Verizon by the end of 2011 I'll probably be going to AT&T because their phone line-up is better. It's a pity because I do like Verizon's service.
I'm not even asking for a new phone this year, I just want an announcement of a new phone. They're releasing so many Android phones per year, and they can't announce a new wp7 phone after half a year or so, it's kind of BS.
I emailed one of the higher ups at VW regarding this. I got an email and a call back from his assistant regarding my frustrations. Supposedly there will be new WP devices coming, but they wouldn't give a time frame.
Rumor on the net through a couple Nokia sites say that Verizon will be getting a high end Nokia WP, while AT&Crap and T-Mobile will be getting mid tier devices. I'm personally over HTC's battery life issues so I'm optimistic something better will be coming so I can finally make the switch from Android.
Do yourself a favour, if you see what you like on another carrier (at&t, Titan, Focus S, Focus Flash), check out the coverage and prices as best you can and if everything looks ok switch! Why sit around on a carrier that doesnt give you what you want, whether it be CS, coverage or the device you desire? Buy a prepaid phone, use it to confirm you will have coverage and if its a go make sure to tell vzw just why you are switching. Spread the word about your experience, and maybe in 10 years time they will pull their heads out of google's butt!!
That's probably because Verizon is Google's favorite carrier and gets more from Google than other carrieres do, just like Motorola will now be favored over other OEMs.
the deathstars cell service is awful where I live. Calls are always dropped, and the data plan is horrendous. If it weren't for those two things, I would have switched long ago. The only thing really keeping me with big red is the aforementioned unlimited data.

Regardless of what platform he personally prefers, in the end, he wants to make money, and he wants you to upgrade right then and there, and there isn't another WP7 device for him to offer you... what else is he supposed to do? lol
As a sales rep myself, I would attempt to figure out what you want, and get you the device that suits you the best. I'm no Android fan, but if I find out that you like Android, there is little reason for me to try and get you to buy into a completely different platform, no matter how awesome it is. Since you have the only WP7 device on Verizon, there isn't much else he could have done except tell you to buy into a different platform.
But the general idea of your topic, I understand, and its most certainly saddening to see how the market treats underdogs (not only Verizon). Though, I think you'll find that once the dollar signs start shifting toward WP7, the tune of most sales reps will also shift. They go where the money goes.
But when the rep tells me WP7 sucks like its fact and not opinion, that's when I tune out. And its sad because I feel that his behavior reflects on veizons opinion of WP7 in general besides, how are you gonna make tons of cash on a phone OS when you only have one model that supports it? Of course your gonna make a boatload of money if you have 19 phones that all have android on them

I agree in general that VZW has little to no interest or support for WP7 and hopefully this changes with time as I too have little choice for good reception and am grandfathered on the unlimited data.
Google, Motorola, and Verzon are The Three Stooges. I'm suprised so many people here seem to have missed that...

Blame yourself for the setup....going to the oem for charging solutions is a setup for fail.
Expecting a salesperson to backup an all but discontinued device (because you like it) is a second setup to fail.
Continuing to support that company month to month is the third setup for fail.
Vote with your money, and enjoy the device you want instead = win ?
Seems like the fowl taste WM and the Kin left in VWs mouth hasn't left pitty.
Sent from my SGH-i917 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
...then Verizon should've been smart and got the HD2 instead of the Kin !
Ok ohgood, let me clarify a few things:
1. I was looking at charging cables. Its not like I ran in, brow sweaty demanding a cable and willing to pay any price.
2.funny how a device that's Been out since early summer is considered "discontinued". Only reason it is could be because VZW deemed it so. Way to give it a chance.
3.maybe you should read why I'm sticking with VZW (great cell service and grandfathered into unlimited data). I'm sure I mentioned it above. Let me check...yep. I did.
So it's hard to vote with ones wallet when my other choice is a cell carrier that drops calls or gets no service in my area all together. Heaven forbid I would like to get a phone that isn't based on specs from a year ago. So, my point still stands. Google might as well buy VZW so they can just outright say "all android, all the time"

Oh and to add a point, I wasn't seeking an upgrade. I was just browsing, curious about data cables or whathaveyou, and when making small talk, he saw the phone and started off on "the facts" about why WP7 is awful. So he wasn't trying to find my needs. And I get they follow the money, but as I previously stated, of course your gonna make more money on an OS that has a carrier branded tv and radio spot, not to mention the wall sized posters of android phones in store. Yet every vzw store I've been to had the trophy for 2 weeks in a corner of the store where no one would see it. /end rebuttal

Yes, I read that about lack of quality cellular service, its familiar to me. He's just using sales tactics that usually work for him, or possibly pointing out reasons other customers have cited for moving to iphone4. Prolly gets him a contract renewal or sale 9/10.
Thing is, no matter how uninterested you are in their hardware choices, you're supporting them month to month.

You're a good sales rep. Honestly. My last experience with a rep at a VW store went more or less as follows. I walk into the store just to look around because I had time to kill. The rep walks up and asks me what phone I have. I tell him a Focus and that I am on AT&T and am not interested in buying anything, I was just browsing. He proceeds to tell me that my phone's OS isn't any good, and that AT&T sucks (I can't really argue very much with that, though) -- I should switch to VW and get a Droid because they are the best phones available on the market. I asked him if he had ever used a WP7 -- he hadn't, of course. That conversation ended right there and I asked him to show me a Moto Xoom, which is another story.
Went to the ATT store to pick up a Titan or a Focus. Had to hold in my hand the diff in size to make sure I was okay with the Titan size vs amole display.
Liked them both, but wanted to sleep on it.
Went back the next day with my mind made up....Titan.
The guy that helped me the first night was busy, so picked the next available att rep. The windows phones were next to the appless display. I asked if they had another titan left. He asked if I wanted 32 gb or something model. I was like huh? I said I didn't know there was a 32 or 64 gb version of the titan. He was like oh, you want a windows phone. Yaa, duh!
Anyway, the guy that helped me the first night said that him and only one other att person had a windows phone vs the 10 or so other reps I saw in the store both nights. I don't want to say someone is cool or not cool, but the windows att guy I talked to was pretty friggin cool and knowledgeable. I overheard him talking to a customer about the chaos that is the android market and he also knew the exact dilemma I was facing...amole vs titan screen size (he owned a focus s).
After I purchased my Titan I went over and interrupted his conversation with another customer to say thanks, and let him know I went with the big screen. As I left and got in my car I saw him and the rep that rang me up in a good natured but possibly competitive conversation and realized that maybe att stores work on commission??
Anyway, I feel bad if that is true, but hopefully the appless guy defers to the guy that helped me choose my windows phone!!
With regards to my Titan purchase.... friggin AWESOME phone!!!
I made mobile phone calls thru a 2m repeater in the 80's as a ham, did IT tech support through one of those ancient Motorola flip phone in the 90's (DPC550?), and windows mobile x.x until now.
While I have thoroughly enjoyed the endless rooting and the various branches I have explored of windows mobile through XDA, I have to admit I was starting to get a little jealous of the apps available to my non technical friends through their iphones.
I finally threw down for an ipod once it could hold my massive GB collection of music but it never set the hook for me...minus my collection of music. I needed something more...
I won't tell anyone they have to get a windows phone, but seriously, the Titan friggin rocks!!!!! I was worried about the size but honestly it feels less in my front pocket than my old tilt2 (boat anchor). The large screen is simply enjoyable for anyone with a history of using smartphones. Apps? The good ones are ported. Games? The bigger the screen size the better, all things considered. Native apps...WOW!
I was worried the titan would be too big...its not, it might be the perfect size. Sign me me up as a converted windows phone fanboy. I really feel (based on tried and true experience) that android = windows mobile! Yeah, there are some cool things you can do...but I want a phone, not a linux box. ah, sorry!!!
Feel free to flame! But I am really psyched on this phone!
I always liked windows phone but idk, I just couldn't use it as an everyday thing. Its very simplistic and I like that. But to many features left out(at least when I had a focus). Well maybe I'll see about getting one again. The titan did seem nice. I also checked it out at the store. I love the screen on it. HUGE!
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Anyone who can't even refer to the competition by their correct name, and needs to resort to childish things like "appless" isn't even worth flaming. Enjoy your new phone. WP7 is a good OS, and has the potential to eventually be great, but so are iOS and Android. People who can't see that are only trying to rationalize their own choice, and they make intelligent discussion impossible.

I feel the same about the Titan, it's an excellent phone. When I went to the local AT&T store with my brother about 2 weeks ago, I got to play with a Titan and was amazed how well made it was and how sweet the style was. If I would have been eligible for an upgrade, I would have walked out of the store with a Titan.
Oh Dad!
I mean RoboDad! I'm sorry, you are totally correct calling my post out!
I thought a good natured jibbing in the 'Windows Phone' forum would be okay and got a little too excited with what I thought was an original jab - 'Appless'?
I guess maybe not.
Sorry to offend you!
There is a great Mobile OS race going on, I see WP is a big underdog. All I was trying to say was that I was blown away by WP on the Titan. The handicaps of each platform are well documented, if not well marketed.
My opinion=only mine.
You shouldn't have to apologize OP, I have an Android and WP7... I don't go into the Android section talking about WP7, I don't know why someone would be offended in this section...but rock on with the Titan!

Join the club! Good choice! Only if more kids knew about the new toy
Enjoy the no lag no freeze no hang phone with massive screen to ogle at!
Is this a petition??? lol
love my TITAN!!!!
congratulations
You know what the best thing about the Titan is? ( i own one so i talk with experience) Watching everyone huddle around and iphone 4s (i only use the iphone as a example because this happened during lunch at work) to watch a funny youtube video, and me whipping out the titan and everyone turning to me instead because they could see it from across the table without huddling.
Its a brilliant phone I just wish it had a hugh resolution and the power button on the side.

Ewww...that's one thing I hate about my Focus, the power button on the side. I'm always pressing it when I apply a force to the opposite side...like volume controls. And I always press it when removing it from a case or picking it up. Whats really bad is when I press it while playing a game. The hand naturally grabs the sides to secure the object. Having a power button at the top eliminates this unwanted power button pressing.

I agree but the titan's size makes it extremely difficult to reach the button and it is really depressed.

Seriously? You need to push the button to turn on the screen. I do that at least 50 times a day.

Not that it is the practical way to do it, but you can press and hold the camera button. Then press the back button.

That is a cool feature just as you said not optimal.
I extremely disappointed in both Samsung and Rogers, and as a result, I am back on iOS as I type this message.
I sold my S2 i9100 on Craigslist and switched from Fido to Rogers to get an S3 on a three year contract. The S3 was beautiful for the first few hours. By midnight that night, I noticed some serious artifacts on the screen (there are many posts on XDA that call these "ink spots" etc.)
I contacted the salesperson at Rogers regarding an exchange, and I was told to bring it to their technician - if he recognized the defect, I would get a new device. He couldn't see the problem! He had never heard of the problem (yeah, right!) so it would not be exchanged unless I sent it off to Samsung to have a look!
I returned the POS on buyers remorse, paying a $75 fee and got the iPhone 5 as a result.
I love the iPhone and I've had many of them in the past, too. But the Samsung problem of faulty screens is definitely a common issue and I most likely wont switch back, unless something truly game changing comes out for Android.
Rogers is terrible, aside from having a gorgeous iPhone 5 out of the deal, leaving Fido was a big mistake.
I would be very weary of purchasing an S3 if you, the reader, haven't already.
Google S3 Ink Spots, and see many disappointed s3 owners like me.
Cool story bro.

I work at a tech shop. Unfortunately they don't always update us on defects. There was a recall on sandybridge mainboards but no one notified us until after two weeks, that is just one instance.
and your point is....? you're back on ios so this whole story makes no difference at all now right? you dont have an sgs3 anymore. end of story. not sure what the point of this is.
i had 3 sgs3's in my possession at one point and didnt see any of this. i also have 6 friends with sgs3's and they dont have this. you should expect some manufacturing defects when a product is made in the hundreds of thousands dude. it just happens. you should blame that tech and yourself for not getting a replacement. you could of easily stood up to them and got a replacement. you being passive is what the problem here is.
I have two ink spots on my S3 but only when the screen is displaying BLACK. All you had to do was warranty the phone dude. And also, this is the GS3 thread, not the flipping iPhone5 thread. Oh that's right, we don't have one!!!!! I own an iPhone 4, but you don't see me coming here saying how awesome it is?!
You should have warrantied the phone.

You obviously stopped reading when you saw the word iOS and decided to post a worthless comment defending Android lol. The point is, people should be weary when purchasing the S3 and look closely. Just because you and your six friends don't see something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Even the technician couldn't see it - that doesn't mean it wasn't there. There are dozens of threads online, and XDA inpeticular, where users are very frustrated with this problem in their S3's.

This is hardly n iPhone 5 thread lol. What is with Android users getting so offended when they see the work iPhone? I've had multiple Samsung phones, I have an Asus Nexus 7, and I've had almost every iPhone to ever come out. They are both great platforms, I am sorry if seeing the work iOS makes you so salty lol

Ummm... read my post again. This has nothing to do with iPhone or android. It has everything to do with you not taking the correct route in getting the replacement. The only worthless post is this thread you created to inform others of you happiness of iOS in an android development website. Replace the phone for a new one. Its that simple. You didn't do that and you should probably take the frustration out on yourself rather than the "tech" that probably didn't care enough to really look for the issue or Samsung for the quality. This really comes down to you not taking the initiative.

Ok, maybe I should refer to it as a "different phone" due to the poor quality of the Samsung Galaxy S3 i747 I purchased. Happy? If you don't find any use for this thread, then leave it, and stop bumping it with your pointless wannabe moderator comments. Someone who is in the market for a new phone, and is considering buying this phone, might find it a little more meaningful. I for one, wish there was a lot of threads on the subject, so I could have saved myself a $75 restocking fee to bring it back, by not buying it in the first place.

Dude, you bought a bad phone out of however millions were made. Just because one phone had something wrong with it doesn't mean that you should tell people NOT to buy that phone. And besides, basing your opinion about an ENTIRE company based on one defective device is STUPID AS HELL! That's like saying 'white people are racist' just because 1 KKK member calls me the N word!!!
THINK!!!
Take you Android bashing and just forget about signing into XDA until you get an Android device again like you said when something MAGICALLY comes about. Have fun with iOS, it's solid, it's stable, and absolutely nothing will ever go wrong with your precious iPhone 5. :good:
.... it's an issue with AMOLED screens. There's a clear reason why the "technician" probably didn't see it. That being the fact that YOU didn't even notice it until "midnight that night". It's only visible when the screen is displaying BLACK.... and at NIGHT. If it were actually an "Artifact" as you put it, it would have some sort of adverse affect on the display quality.... which it does not. I have noticed these blotches at night. But instead of googling it and reading that it does happen and thinking "Oh, this phone sucks cause there's this stuff that other people seem to have", i actually read more into it and found out WHAT it was. It doesn't affect the screen in any way.... and is only visible on a solid black color, at night. Which is funny, cause a lot of the people posting about it don't exactly seem "Disappointed", as you put it, but more curious as to why they're there, and if they could be a potential issue or not..... which they're not.
If it were something that affected the functionality or the display quality, i could see being "disappointed in Samsung".... but this is just ridiculous. I've had an iPhone 3GS and an iPhone 4 before switching to Android. I don't see why in the hell anybody would willingly switch iOS from Android. Apple designs excellent hardware.... i'll give them that. But iOS seriously needs an overhaul... not just a new feature or two added every year that's been around on other platforms (and not just Android) for YEARS.

Exactly. I'm looking at a black screen on my S3 right now, no ink spots, but at night and on a COMPLETELY black screen, I can see a few, but it doesn't bother me.
Also, enjoy your non working maps, anodized aluminum that chips from nothing, screen flickering, and your now AMAZING 4x5 [email protected][email protected]!11
LOL I will never understand people who get heated over Android vs iPhone, even when this thread is not a comparison.
You all don't think ink spots are a problem, then that's ok. For me, it's unacceptable, even if its only at night. It's not just on black screens, it's on anything as dark as the deep blue in settings. If its a common problem with AMOLED screens, then it's too bad.
And ps: google maps has a fully functional web app that is identical to what was the native maps app LOL.
I think I hear your moms calling you upstairs for lunch
So far every Samsung phone I had also had black spots on the screen its just how Samsung produces there screens but I would not swap out my phone just because of some black spots that you could only see in midnight and iPhone is a piece of **** u made a mistake !

Ok.... fine.... it's visible on very dark colors..... at night. WOOOOOO! if you're that nit-picky, i'd hate to see how you are with other products. Must suck to see you picking out a monitor..... backlight bleed must really get your panties in a bunch against the manufacturer of the display.
I'm sure the thread will be closed pretty soon.
To the OP, you got your iPhone, be happy and get on with your life. And stop being rude to other members because this may harm you in future if you ever get an Android phone. So better safe than sorry. Also, as you mentioned there were several other threads opened regarding the issues you were experiencing, you should have better put your thoughts in those threads. People get angry because you searched and found similar issues, still you opened a new one to complain about your displeasure.

Well, I guess I'm glad your problem is solved.
My Rogers S3 is just swell over here.
Having had an iphone from 2008-2012 and having used iOS since the original ipod touch in 2007, I couldn't be happier to have bought an S3.
Sounds like your beef is more with Rogers than with Samsung. I got my 32gb S3 on promo from Rogers for only $50, the 32gb iphone 5 would have been $300
The unbelievable amount of positive differences I have experienced between my old iphone 4 and the S3 is pretty astounding. I played with an iphone 5 for a bit a few days ago and yeah it just seemed... Boring to me after having had my S3 for two weeks. I really loved my iphone for years and defended it endlessly as being incredibly durable and intuitive and simple devices (which they are) but after messing with Android for a few weeks I actually now regret not making the switch sooner.

Hawken I installed io6 on my iphone 4 a few weeks ago. The Google maps "Web app" via Safari is total and utter **** in comparison to the proper Google App. It seems like you are just trying to come up with all sorts of reasons to justify your decision to impatiently dump the S3 and pay a ton of cash to get the iphone 5 because it's a mindlessly easy device to use.
