Or if you have rooted, Paul O'Brien from MoDaCo is creating a Mod to address this.

Is he? Mines rooted so good news. Facebook will take forever to do it.

Ahhh, no access to a computer at the minute so I can't root, or I would

Why not use the Facebook Messenger app? You'll get a notification every time someone messages you. It works well on my galaxy nexus.

3 things may happen:
1. You are not logged in to your google account.Try to open your gmail (appl from your phone) and see if you can see your mails.
2. Maybe some problem from google side if you are already logged in.
3. Network (operator) problem (forget it.just saw that you are asking for your wifi as well).
and maybe problem of the custom rom?
I also think its from my custom rom but I can use market under check my mails it just looks wierd

My widgetsoid is mangled too, tried replacing it (deleted cache, fixed permissions, uninstall, reinstall, etc.) But it seems to be a bug, fine by me as its ugly but functional. As for your google account I'd reflash gapps.
Edit: hey sorry to side track but if any dev sees this thread.. Wouldn't it be cool to have a toggle widget for forced hardware acceleration? Just a thought

Why is it not matching ICS? The icon and app pages are halo light and overview in halo dark. It matches perfectly (if you saw the android developer site.)
Though I do miss Andy. They need to put him somewhere in the market.

"Market" is not a name
Just got it as well.
I like how they replaced everything with 'Play'.
Instead of 'Read The Hunger Games' it's 'Play The Hunger Games'
Hopefully they'll update something worthwhile soon so I can 'Play with Google Wallet' instead of having it broken.
im ok with the 'play' name its the icon/logo i dont like, market was prettier

I recall reading a blog mentioning that the term "app" was patented by you-know-who. They even had an issue with Amazon's store because it had the same name.

Bit off topic, but does anyone of the apk for Play Music? I hear that it's fairly different to the stock player, well and I can't get it here in Germany.
Thanks!
EDIT: NVM, market enabler does the trick
To receive it, just clean market cache (only cache is enough), reboot, open market (wait a bit,in background it should download the update), exit, reopen and bam you will receive the play store...its confirmed to work

(NEW) FACEBOOK INTERFACE - "Newsfeed"

Hello Note 2 users!
I bring great news.
Facebook is planning to offer a update that allows the user interface to become "clutter-free" on your Android device. Aka Newsfeed.
It's not officially open to the entire public yet, and you will have to sign up to join the waiting list.
Word has it that there are android users already being switched slowly into the new UI. I imagine that this new feature would look great on our phablet.
https://www.facebook.com/about/newsfeed
You will need to view the page on your desktop or in desktop mode. Scroll to the bottom to join!
Go get em!

I didn't install this, and it's been fantastic. It's everything I've always wanted in a Facebook app. Absolutely no hit in battery performance, too. Great work!!!
I've found that whenever FB does a large change, they lower privacy settings.
When they announce something new I look at it with a great deal of skepticism because I don't want to inadvertently start spamming my friends and family. I also don't want non-friends and family suddenly knowing my shopping habits, where and when I'm not at home, etc.

Aye, and all the 'stock' apps can be uninstalled the ol' fashioned way.
I found out that you can disable an app by going into Settings, Apps, select the app, and then press Disable. I don't use GMail and got tired of seeing the icon. Seems to work the same as freezing an app.
Oh yeah I guess y'all are right. Sorry, just got back into android with the new nexus 7. Honestly I just don't like having anything on my devices I don't use.

Free up space, delete an unused process. Keep crap apps from annoying us. That said this is Nexus. There is not much you could call bloat
Currents.

If its a system app that can't be removed by just uninstalling it. Than they other option is to root and just delete it using a file manager like root explorer.
Pretty sure gmail and currents are play store apps so they should just be able to be uninstalled.

The above links work and you can also find it by going to the Play Store in a web browser and then clicking on the gear icon on the right side and then you will see the Android Device Manager there too.
This seems useless after I change my Google password (which would the first thing to do since thief has my phone as a authenticator).
