I repacked the Kernel from squshy7's Stock Update tar, and added CWM5. Also updated the initramfs layout to be ROMManager compatible. Init.d support is also included.

Chris - any thoughts to packing this with the latest team rogue recovery? Not sure they might get to it shifting focus to ICS.
They repacked the EG30 already, and this one would take like 5 mins because the only difference in the initramfs is the modules..
I offered to do so on the EG30 build, and the offer stands on this one as well.. if steady wants me to do it I will..
otherwise we will wait on them
Sounds good, i know they are busy with ICS so they might not have an issue.
EDIT: Asked if you don't mind?
EG31 with CWM5 has been effen great for me. Thanks once again Chris!

I noticed that when using it in combination with EG31 modem I am at 60% battery after 16 hours with 2 hours 45 min screen on time. When I updated the modem but not the kernel I seemed to lose a bit of that great battery life. The combination of the 2 is just great. And like Tiffany said..Happy Thanksgiving

Are you still on Calk's rom? If so, have you noticed whether this kernel runs the init.d scripts on boot? I flashed this kernel but the battery script never ran, all 5 cpu freqs were in use even though I was down under 30% battery.

If you use ANY cpu setters, i.e. setcpu, tegrak, etc. then the script doesn't run. Or is your tracking of freq's used via cpuspy?

I am actually surprised that stock kernel with Tegrak is giving higher numbers than our current overclockable kernels. It was never that way on the OG Epic unless you really got brave. 1.4 was safe Max on OG Epic and people got brave and got it to 1.6 with Tegrak and insane voltages...but not daily use stable. Just to run some benchmarks ans snap some screenies. Then there was Marcusant's UberQuadrant terminal command that gave 9000+ quadrants. Its easily tricked but a good tool to gauge differences in your personal setup

I think it has to do with the source kernel not being 100% compared to the actual kernel that comes on the phone. Was going back and forth with sammy about this and with some recent info from mkasick I'm hoping the next response I get is something along the lines of "Oooh **** our bad here is the correct defconfig"
hey I can dream can't I?

Voltage control in Tegrak costs more digital moneys than I have. But the kernel seems pretty stable. No glitches so far.

Oh crap, my bad for not deleting that post. I deleted it in the other thread I posted, forgot about here. I flashed this first thing in the morning and like a dumbass I flashed the version for AOSP, I'm on stock. Luckily I had a CWM nandroid image so I flashed my boot.img back and was able to boot into the OS.
It was 100% my fault.

That's why all the previous versions are posted there still. Overall, it's still highly debatable if it's working or not. Most say no, one or 2 folks claim it is.
I don't over clock, but I did try it and every cpu app said it wasn't, or it was dropping back. I prefer having a battery that lasts.
Agat is awesome tho, I'm sure he'll get to the bottom of the issue and give us a 4.3 soon enough.
Yeah for me using voltage control I didn't have the steps available until I mobile odined the new kernel. I tried 1.3. It worked I just don't like over clocking.

Well I have been looking around on my own, but really I can't make heads or tails out of any of the various Overclocking apps. I am looking for what the best overclocking app (in your personal opinion/experience is). As far as firmware goes I have;
Firmware - 4.1.2
CyanogenMod Version - 10-20121012-NIGHTLY-epicmtd
Build Number - cm_epicmtd_userdebug 4.1.2 JZO54K eng..20121011.232018 test-keys
Kernal Version - 4.0.42-g5b9b6e6 [email protected] #1 Thu Oct 11 23:28:39 PDT 2012

If you want to try the kernels by the devs that are working on the ns4g modems I know they have a few options from nitest to stock cm and the other simply something kernel (sorry forgot the name they all work great and just be aware overclocking does have its challenges but it has some killer benefits for sure too at the speed and responsiveness. It does to a degree I believe. Not anywhere around the old cm9 1200 they brought that back to 1000 stock but you can raise the min up from 100-1000. I would stick around 200 or 400 possibly 800 absolute max. It can be set to different profiles conservative, performance ect

Stock cm10 does not support overclocking to any degree... the only kernel that supports overclocking for cm10 is the nitest kernel, but it still has some bugs to be worked out, so unless you're an experienced user I recommend stocking with stock cm10 and not worry about oc until/if epic cm team implements it into the stock kernel....

 just remember to post issues on the nitest thread and not the cm10 thread....
So what is the best method to overclock now? I downloaded the NStools that was mentioned, however it will only let me go as high as 1GHz, which I could already do within CM10 itself, so I hardly see a point to that.
I just want to be able to run at a max of 1.2GHz.
