I wanted to order one but, I am afraid I won't be able to change it properly and screw up my phone! Is there any video/picture guide on how to change the housing on the arc?
I tried to replace the blue housing to silver before. There's pda file about how to change it properly. In my experience, the hardest part is how to remove the lcd from the housing(need a special tool for it), the rest is actually pretty easy.
Oh here's the instruction and pdf
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1086178
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1123609
So you managed to replace it?
I need to change the front buttons, how hard/dangerous would that be be?
i already did it once before, so it shouldn't be too hard for me. For the LCD part, because the entire lcd is glued with the housing, it takes a bit skills to remove it.
For the front buttons: you need to separate cover rear and the front housing, then remove the sub pba. After that you can replace the front button. As long as you follow the instruction from the pdf, then it shouldn't be too hard(in my experience).
I'm very interested in it, please can you upload some pics when you'll receive it?
wow, original?
well ya, that's what the seller said. It will takes times to ship, i will post some pics when it arrives.

I'm waiting! I have never heard about this housing
Wow, thats what Im looking for cause my camera has a scratch.... Cool
*edit*
In the working instructions it says, that two peaces cant be reused (ant gps flex & audio jack). Thats true? no way to remove it undamaged??
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
oh, that 2 peaces i can actually reuse it after for some reason without any problem.
(Maybe it said the mid housing can't be reuse because it use tape to stick both peaces on the housing, so once it removed from the (old) housing, the tape on the old housing can't be reuse because it is not sticky anymore.
Still waiting for the housing, hopefully it will arrive soon....( i hate canada custom, always take forever....)
I bought it from a German store so it will hopefully arrive today or tomorrow. I take some pics of the"not reuseable" parts.
Wohoo, I will not have a scratch at my camera.

If so, where do you get it?

yes you need special tool to remove LCD panel. I bought the tool from dollar shop(suction cup) and it works well lol.(However, you still need to find a way to hold ur housing while you remove the lcd panel.)

The glass probly not that much, but the labor I think that is more than anything

Cost i have no idea..
But with touch screen glass is not just glass..
It could be The Capacitivie touch screeen or the LCD or both..
Just guessing.. No idea what they cost.. You should find out if someone else had an equivalent repiar job done and price they paid..
Yeah i did the same thing, i was told £180 pound.
The screen is fine its the digitizer that is cracked like yours, i picked one up on ebay for £24.
Arrived fine, was OEM. just need to fit it myself, or find someone to fit it for me.
Their is a actual manual from SonyEricsson in .pdf format that explains how to take the screen out.
If you want it, ill try to find it on my laptop

you cant get a standalone digitizer for arc. It comes as a pair with digitizer and lcd. I tried changing just digitizer and screen stopped working. You can get it on ebay for about £50
If i understood corectly u bought a digiter and u tried to put it on your own, but screen didnt worked.. would it be waste of time if i tried? what do you think?

That is correct. The screen and the digitizer come as one assembly. When I tried to take the digitizer off on its own the lcd screen back panel ripped off and wouldnt work again.
I see..thank you for your information and your time, u was very helpful to decide what im gonna do.. im gonna give 147 to sony ericson service for not having troubles in my mind!! Anyway, sone ericson dissapointed me..i searched on youtube for instructions to replace the digitizer and lcd on phones (for example nokia) and i found it very easy job, easy enough to do it your self..
if you buy it from ebay its very easy to install it yourself but i will warn you staright away the quality of images will decrease. When I replaced mine i was very disappointed. Blue colours became greener, and lines appeared when tilting phone. Much better to let sony do it but it is very expensive. Nearly half the price of the phone.

The screen quality should only decrease if it's not original screen from sony.
There are screens on ebay that are original.
Beware of imitations.
I'm buying one today so hopefully get my arc back up and put this Vivaz back in the drawer lol
well, good luck with your arc!!
yh says genuine and original but they are not. Post back here see if you can see a difference. I noticed it instantly.

Also Soldier33, how did you manage to pull your screen off, did you disemble the connections then pull it off with a suction cup of something ?
This is my main concern, is pulling the screen off, as i dont think you can push it out from inside the phone !

If it dont go well, i wont be on this forum for a while lol :S
I used the suction cup from my shower sponge lol. It was big enough to hold on and not too small to come off with force. But make sure you pull it from the buttons side not the top or you will rip the ribbon cable.
Thanks for the tips. Also does the screen come out with the digitizer?
I mean are they liked stuck together with glue or any thing?
Because i just need to replace the digitizer, but worry about the screen not staying in

Hello guys,
10 minutes ago my galaxy note N7000 screen cracked in my pocket.
So I need to buy a replenishment screen from Samsung but I simply can't find stores that supplies replenishment parts for it. Do anyone knows where to buy a new Amoled LCD screen for galaxy note ?
Thank you and best regards,
Amid
ebay, took 5 days to ship from HK to NYC. Follow youtube guide in opening the note and use blow dryer/heat gun to loosen the sceen, wedge open with something sharp and slowly tear back the screen gently. You will need the old Wacom sensor from the broken screen so becareful to not to rip it. There is guide in the general section. I broke mine 2 weeks ago and replaced it in a hour. take your time you can get it done.
Thanks man. Just to be sure, the price is about US$ 230,00 for it ? i am not sure if I am looking for the right spare part.

I think this is what you are looking for:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/S-Black-Dig...087?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c65951cd7
I can try but I don´t think this will help the problem. The screen doesn´t show any images anymore, looks like a broken LCD. When you press it, a lot colors appears around it. Do you believe this is the one I need ?
Thank you and best regards

Hmmm no, in that case you will need the 200ish one.
You will need the entire setup, glass, LCD, and Touch. Does not come with Wacom sensor. Looking around you can get them for 230-260. Look for delivery, that makes a huge difference, especially with your phone out of commission.
This is the guy I purchased mine from, but I panic and purchase the first one I saw. If you do some research you will find cheaper, but I got min in 5 days. So I am glad this guy came thru. Good luck, its going to stress you out a bit when you have to remove the screen from the front panel, they are glued on so take your time. Looks like your LCD broke so it is going to crack and shatter further so make sure you do it in area where it is easy to clean. If you look at the front panel after you remove it, you will see one wire that does not come with the replacement one, that is for the wacom sensor, so be careful and don't damage that part, you will need to peel it off and place it back on to the replacement lcd, otherwise your s-pen won't work. It's been 2 weeks, my phone is going strong and no sensor or sceen issues. You should get a more protective case, since you probably already blew close to ~$1000 on this phone by now. I have a casemate, otterbox commuter looks like a good one. Once again good luck, you can do this.
Please stop advising people to do something that is not meant to be done and can possibly damage their phone even more. And most likely look completely rubbish when assembled.
The correct repair part is a complete display assembly including everything - the glass, digitizer, Wacom digitizer, AMOLED, bezel, frame abd home button. It costs around 260 dollars on eBay and is relatively simple to install. By installing the complete assembly you don't need to worry about separating the glass and AMOLED or about the Wacom digitizer, since they are all included. Just remove the screws, back housing and motherboard, disassemble the audio flex cable and front camera flex from the old display and put them into the new one. Most displays also require the old charger port flex and speaker module to be used.
The correct part looks like this, for example: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=320843198847
Well mine looks brand new, must be the workmanship ;-P But why flame my advise when he is going to need to do it anyways, the screen is completely useless, as was mine. Why don't you keep your assumption to yourself in how it will look or if he is going to ruin the device. If he decides that he would rather live with a crack screen or someone who is willing to do it, there really isn't much options here. What's up with such negative attitude here. Just trying to show him that it can be done.

Replacement screen with 2 connectors
Hello!
First of all I would like to say Thank you for all the resources provided in this forums!
Could someone please help me to find a replacement screen for the International version of the Galaxy Note GT-N7000 with 2 connectors? This phone has the physical home button. All the replacements that I've been able to find have just the first connector. I tried to post a photo hoping to help better explain it, but I can't do it yet.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

I think Senior member Justis is right... many of us dont want to do a full screen replacement for 220$...when we can just remove the front screen for 20$..many have done this method successfully... U just need to watch a lot of youtube videos on this and be careful/delicate with the procedure... its possible.
So i dont think what he said was a waste.. Pls keep such remarks to yourself.. He was not wasting anyones time.
Infact you are wasting my time making me read your message and give u a reply.

Hi Guys
I bought a full housing and digitizer on ebay for this phone (original parts) because I got it second hand and the case is a little bit too scratched and nicked for my liking (I'm fussy I know, but I got it for a steal because I swapped my old BlackBerry 8520 for it the guy couldn't live without BBM). I tried searching on youtube and everywhere else on the net but nobody seems to have a tutorial on how the digitizer disconnects from the front housing All I could find was tuts on a Galaxy Ace and other phones but not this one.
So my question is, has anybody ever performed an operation like this on this phone? And if so, is the digitizer glued to front housing or (even worse) glued to the lcd as well? The Galaxy Ace is glued to the front housing but can be removed with a hair dryer by heating the glue carefully and prying it apart. I have the detailed service manual for this phone from Samfirmware but it doesn't show anything about glue concerning the digitizer.
I'm still waiting for the parts to arrive and I am trying to prepare myself for what will be in store for me. If I can successfully change the entire housing, phone will be brand new again

Actually your unboxing post has helped me a lot At least the lcd is not glued in (from what I can see) so big thanks to you bro :highfive:
I have gotten the digitizer plus housing so I can throw the old (glued) one away and just stick down the new digitizer to housing. By the way there are a total of 8 plastic points where the cover is attached, so yeah it is hard to get off but the Level 2 Service manual explains it nicely

any luck with this? got a few small scratches on my screen and wondering if its worth the hassle.
Hi Guys,
From youtube videos (I know great source of info) it seems that removing back cover on HOX is quite easy.
So two questions come to mind first one no one makes entire back cover replacements in many colours?
Also anyone know where I could get the least original white back cover?
I want to sell my HOX and camera lens is scratched. Does not interfer with pictures due to location of it but still.
Cheers,
Luka
I found a lot of them when looking for a black and white one.

it's not that simple!!
at first you will void your warranty as soon as you detach the cover...then believe me that it's very difficult and you could damage the inner frame or other components, since there's a lot of glue that make you feel the phone very solid in your hands...
but believe me that it's a real pain to change the cover...the most difficult part of opening your phone...
however you should do it just if it's stricly necessary imho...
Nah it's really easy. Takes 10 mins to switch over. There is no glue really. For the most part it is clipped on.
I say go for it. I got my white original cover off ebay for £30.
my camera lens also got little scratched. Is there any chance to replace it only? anyone with the same problem?

My One X has a creaking corner, where the original back cover seems to give in a little. Any guesses if getting a replacement (because the camera lens also has a few scratches) would help? Maybe the fit would be better... or is the creaking problem something related to how the phone itself sits inside the cover, and getting a new back would be pointless?
Has someone experiences with cases from Hong Kong?
They are cheaper and include the SIM Tray...

After putting the whole thing back together, doesn't the phone start creaking, especially at the bottom part?
No
Opened mine 2 times and the bottom fits better than when it came out of the box.
Only opened it to clean the camera lens from inside and always used the same cover it came with.

anyone have their old grey one and want to sell it?
Hi all, apologies if this has been covered, I did a search but didn't find anything.
I have an HTC one with a cracked digitizer and I am planning on trying to fix it myself (I like a challenge!)
However, I am struggling with which parts to buy. I live in UK and all of the sellers on eBay seem to be on Hong Kong or China and the parts do not seem to be OEM. I am concerned about the quality of non-OEM parts.
Does anyone know of some genuine sellers in the UK/Europe? If you know of somewhere better in the US then I'm happy to pay postage as long as it's genuine.
Also, there are a lot of listings for digitizer only - I cannot find any recorded method of removing the digitizer from the LCD so I assume I should stay clear of them?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Stuart

Find a HTC Carepoint. They have them but i don't know if they sel them. A repair ad mine shop wil cost you €240,-
@stumark man that's gonna be a tough thing to find. In order to get original parts your either going to have to get it to a HTC repair shop or buy an m7 for parts and rip of the front housing. I just bought the full housing so I can change mine from silver to black but I have not seen any official screens. I can give you the links to some I found in the US if you want tho.

I assumed that I would need to buy the full housing but I cannot find one that seems genuine. So if you have found some that you know are genuine then some links would be great, thanks

I'm interested in doing the same- changing from silver to black. I'm curious how did it go, did you manage to swap the casing/display without damaging it? I saw some vids on YouTube about it.. looks pretty messy..
I bought my housing from this guy http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Si...er_Cell_Phone_Accessories&hash=item51b4c6527e
U think it only can be original if it comes from us or uk? where do you think this is made?

I'd recommend etradesupply.com also. Bought iPhone replacement digitizer there and it worked awesome.
Hi,
I have a htc m7 with a cracked digitizer and I want to repair it.
I know that the best is to change the digitizer and the screen together(like this one for example), but I saw this video and others to replace the digitizer only and it seems easy.
Did anyone already tried to replace the glass?
I thought it was needed to unglue the screen from the glass and glue it again, but I didn't found much information about this.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Diogo

Yes, i did it my self and if you going to replace the lcd you shouldn't be worry much :victory:
my recommendation it to remove the SIM stick first then, start to insert the tool between the upper lip of the SIM port and the Black lcd frame :good:
then start to pop out the lcd from the the back cover BY moving the tool around the phone.
the bottom speaker grill can be removed easily, but the upper one has a screw from inside from the left side only.
you will find some youtube video, but my recomendation to start from the upper lip of the SIM port

I think you should remove the sim slot first. I messed up mine trying to take out the back case and also messed up the volume up button. [emoji35]

I mentioned to start from the sim side not the volume side.
