[Q] 4.0.2.A.0.42 Camera focus center - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've flashed my Arc using OTA from 4.0.1.A.0.283 to 4.0.2.A.0.42 World Generic.
I noticed that when using the camera, the focus center changed from the center of the phone to the top left where the lens is located. Does anyone else noticed the same thing?

No i didnt.

This is more obvious if you take a picture in landscape orientation.

I always use landscape, since my k610, k850, c902,c905,satio...
but i didnt notice that.

Is there a way to make this stay on full time for enhancements to the phone as a whole?

When does it "switch off"?
Only works for photos and videos, but my thought is it would make home screen and everything else look better.

Really?
I think it improves everything.

Every review i have read states differently, but again that was when phone first came out so i could be wrong now.
Edit: if you go to settings, under dismay it states improves photos and videos. Doesn't ay anyhing about other areas.

Last night a friend's Galaxy S III was doing the same thing (though usually it was every second photo that would crash the camera). I had thought it was maybe a defective SD card, but it did the same thing when storing photos to the main memory. Rebooting didn't help either. As a temporary measure we installed CameraMX on it which worked in a pinch.
They were on 4.0.4 though, and after running the update to 4.1.1 today they said the default camera app was working again. Of course, I didn't think of clearing data for the camera app before running the update, so maybe that would have fixed it too.
My Galaxy S III was working fine though.

What is this wrong with my camera?

It appears in all the photos, I have cleaned the lenses with a napkin but it is still there in the photos. This blackish spot

I would be more interested in the huge pinkish blurred circle in the middle which is common on samsung but no idea about the dark spot.
Sorry I wasnt really a help there.

The pinkish ks there because the headlamp was shining at almkst 10cm on the paper. Its normal, but what about the black spot?

I had this issue with my iPhone 4 about a year ago. I brought it in to apple and they said some camera lenses are just bad and need replacement. (It occurred randomly, I had a good year of usage before the grey spot appeared.) If you are under warrantee, bring it to samsung, otherwise, any local repair facility should be able to swap the camera out for you (not necessarily cheap).

I think that bakisha and crazymonkey05 are right... If it happens no matter what Rom or firmware your on its definitely a hardware issue.
I'm sure it is because recently I did a restore to a ROM I know the FFC was working but now camera app always crashes and there is no way I can fix it clearing cache delvik factory reset do nothing so yea probably hardware fault.....are these cameras easy to replace and if so can they be upgraded
