[Q] How to disable audio notification of Signal changes? - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
Is there anyway to disable the notification for when your phone has acquired signal?
MOre specifically, riding in NYC subway causes your phone to go in and out of service quite often throughout the trip. If you're listening to music or watching a video, the sound is interrupted when your signal status changes.
[edit] And I rather not go into airplane mode all the time as a workaround. Sometimes I forget to take it off airplane mode and end up missing calls and texts =(
Thanks!

No. This has been asked many many times. If you are watching stuff off of your SD card, turn Flight mode on. That will stop it.

Thanks, I wasn't able to find the right search terms for this matter.

[Q] Turning off 'limited service' beeping

The gym that I go to has terrible reception and consequently I often get the big 'limited service' message on my Desire screen when I'm in there. What gets annoying is this is coupled with a periodic double-beep to signify the loss of service, which is played over whatever music I may be listening to on the media player.
Does anyone have any idea how to turn this off? I can't seem to find a setting for it and setting the phone to silent has no effect.

[Q] notification help

hi
i had a quick search on the forums and havent found a solution, i have just changed from o2 to 3 mobile PayAndGo, (needed to save some cash) i had a notification mp3 setup to play on new email, know i understand that the same mp3 is played for any notification and not just a new email, but since been on three my phone plays the notification sound more than i get emails, im costly picking up the phone and there is nothing in the notification window or new emails.
im running android 2.2 stock, i don't seem to be able to find anyway of disabling the notification sound or anyway to say what to notify on, in settings/sound i can change the sond file that is played but don't see any way to disable it, and i don't seem to be able to find out what is causing the notification sound to play.
anyone help or know of an app that will help either set what condition the phone plays a notification or shows an event log?
i think it is down to the phone doping between 2g and 3g or coming back in to service.
thanks for taking the time to read this.
it is the mobile data reconnecting causing the Notification sound to be played.

[Q] Beeping in and after call when 3G data on

This is driving me up the freakin wall. I've searched everywhere and haven't found anything to resolve the issue.
I usually use speaker phone when making calls, but recently began actually holding it up to my ear only to find that I keep getting beeps in the earpiece. It sounds like the beep when you place a call and it's ringing, but it keeps going during the call. What's worse, it continues even after hanging up. The only way I can get it to stop is by force closing the phone app and re-entering my SIM pincode.
I thought it was due to something I had installed and wiped my phone and reinstalled things one by one. Doing so I ruled out the applications I use. After testing on various roms (to see if it's rom related), I've realized that I can reliably replicate it by simply turning off wifi, forcing the data connection to go live on 3G and then making a call.
Anybody seen or heard of this before? The beeping is limited to the earpiece and can barely be heard when not held up to the ear, but when you do it's good and loud.

i doubt its anything to do with 3g as your desire will automatically disable any mobile data connection whilst in a call

[Q] Notification sound while using headphones

i cant seem to find a solution to this problem. no matter what volumes i adjust i cant seem to have my notifications mute while listening to music. emails, text, ect. the only solution ive come across is setting the notifications to silent which sucks when im not listening to music because then i have to go back to each app to turn my notifications back on. but even when setting to silent it will turn down my music for a second or 2 then go back up even when on silent.
this is the most annoying feature of android. i also had this issue with my nexus but before that i had the photon and after days of searching i found a mod that fixed the annoyance. but cant find the thread again.
can someone help? i know im not the only one. i hear it at least once or twice a week from customers and ive read it all over the web but the only suggestions we get are setting rington to silent which causes a bigger problem for when your done listening to music

silent phone calls

I keep having phone calls where I can't hear the other person and vice versa. Seems to be related to my Bluetooth connection to a Gear S3 as disabling Bluetooth usually fixes it (but then sometimes it randomly sides itself with Bluetooth on and I haven't done detailed testing).
I'm on Fi, but have been for awhile and never had this problem with my previous phone... I am using the software sim.
Anyone else experiencing similar, or know anything about it?

Make sure under the phone app that the hearing aid accessibility option is off

It's off. I should add, there's not even the sound of the ring, just dead silence and the timer starts, then eventually a disconnect. That's making me think the audio is being sent somewhere besides the speaker (even though the icon says speaker).

I get that to from time to time. It's as if the audio is routed to my watch but nothing actually comes out of the watch.

If your not connected to anything (Bluetooth) and the volumes are maxed out and you have nothing, it's RMA time. Have you tried the good ol' factory reset? Last resort

Interesting thought, though it definitely feels like software to me so I'm not rma'ing just yet.

I legit have the EXACT same issues. I also have a Gear S3. It only happens the first time I call, and then, if I hang up and call the number right back, it's a normal phone call. Have you figured out a fix yet? It's really a nuisance. Thanks in advance!
