[Q] Internet Pass Through and HTC Sync in Runnymede ALLinONE V2.1 - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All
I am using "Runnymede ALLinONE V2.1" for my HTC Desire. Everything seems good except "HTC Sync" and "Internet Pass Through" option when connected to USB cable. When I select those option, the menu comes repeatedly. I tried re-flashing the ROM but it's the same. Is there any way to solve this issue? I can't sync my contacts from Outlook.
Please help.
Thanks-
Shuprio

install htc sync in your computer. the menu keeps popping up because your phone can't detect it.

HTC Sync is already installed and it is up to date. It was working fine and contacts were synced with outlook using it when I was using AcesMod007. But the problem is occurring only after porting Runnymede AllinOne v2.1.
Thank you for your reply.

The same problem with me ... hope to see a solution cuz I really need it

That doesn't work. Charge only, Disk Drive and USB Tethering works fine. But the problem is only with Internet pass through and HTC Sync. If I select Internet Pass Through, the connection menu comes repeatedly. And HTC Sync keep searching HTC Sync in my PC but can't find. I tried all possible ways but bad luck!
Thanks for your reply. I am still trying your way if there is any hope or otherwise.

try turning off your firewall, or create a port

Tried that too. Didn't work. Am truly disappointed. Otherwise the ROM is running silky smooth. Could you please suggest me any other ROM having sense 3.5 having the same features as of Runnymede AllinOne v2.1? How about RunnymedeMod007 by michaelm_007? Is it the same of Sebestian_15s' or somewhat improved? AcesMod007 was superb and all options were working.

i had same problam with htc sensation and rcmix rom any solution?

Well guys I don't have htc sync installed (just drivers). I have AIO v.2.2 with snq kernel. Internet pass through is working fine here. When I select internet pass through option, usb menu pops up again and I select pass through option again and it connects. Sometimes I have to do repeat the process a few times but it connects. Haven't touched firewall or ports.

Sorry Guys! I managed to solve the issue but forgot to tell you. Just install snq-'s latest kernel. It solves the problem. Sometimes the notification menu comes repeatedly, but it works after selecting. Another way is to selecting Settings>Wireless and Networks>Internet Pass Through after selecting the notification menu.
Thanks Metnem for your post.

Thx a bunch bro! I had the same issue too in my Desire S Virtuous Affinity ROM and after I connect the USB I just go to: Settings>Wireless and Networks>Internet Pass Through, and it works like a charm!

[Q]Some issues with CM6.0

Just rooted my 2.2 OTA today, guess i m pretty much a n00b for new ROMs and etc. Anyway, I flashed the current CM6.0(including, kernal + google addons). After boot successfully, i found there is one issue with my evo, i cannot connect to my home wireless network(no password issue). Status(showing in the menu option) repeats "scanning ---> connecting ---> authorizing --> disconnecting", and in WiFi network option, it says "disabled, secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK".
Anyone can help me out? Thank you...
Based on what you said, it is a password/authorization issue. Triple-check your password, and if you still can't figure it out, hop on #CyanogenMod on Freenode, or open a ticket in the Issue Tracker.
If you can't Google/Search enough to figure out what the Issue Tracker or Freenode are, then I'm sorry, but Android is not the OS for you.

its always the easiest thing isn't it?
I am having a similar issue (CM 6.0 final). In my case I get "scanning ---> connecting ---> disconnected".
I was working properly with 2.1 and 2.2 (HTC). I reseted the router and also tried open network. The rest of my wireless devices can connect to the router; only my EVO cannot.

Yup, I saw this issue a few days ago when I tried hooking it up to my desktop. It did the same thing. So I WiFi tethered the phone to my work laptop instead.
Not sure why his happens.
I have this issue too (with 2.3d). Solutions right now?

[Q] Runnymede AIO v5.0 Wifi Wont connect

Hi, I had initially flashed the Runnymede AIO Rom v4.0.2 to my HTC Desire with no issues, using CM7 r2 hboot, radio 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23. All worked very well, when 4.0.3 was introduced, I then flashed that rom, which intalled without a problem, however I was unable to connect to my Wifi, it found the signal and let me enter the security key, but just stays as connecting then disconnected. . I then flashed V4.0.2 back expecting that to work, however wifi still doesn't connect. Now Ver 5.0 is out completely wiped phone and intalled, all ok, but STILL no wifi .
Has anyone else experienced this issue? any advice on fixing this? help please!

Hi,
I am currently having the same issue, Runnyed AIO v5.0.1 with Cm7r Hboot (fresh install did it thismorning).
in my case, I have attempted to do it with a static ip and without on multiple wireless routers.
It has remembered my wifi network, says it's secured WPA etc but the icon up the top shows a 1 bar with a green ex.
Wi-Fi option continuously loops between Disconnected, Connecting... Connecting to wifi... Disconnected and so on.
Edit:
I tried selecting 'Wifi Protected setup' and then selected WPS > PBC (Push Button Configuration). They found each other now my device works on my home network.

I've had this issue with one of the V4 AIO ROMS (Can't remeber the exact version) but I managed to fix it by entering a Static IP address in the WiFi settings.
Yes it was stuck on optaining ip address then disconnecting. It was fine on v4.2 then stoped working in 4.3. My router was set to wireless n only. Changed to bgn mixed mode and now works fine.
Looked up and saw that desire doesn't support wireless n.... Odd it must have cause I havnt changed it.
Anyways working fine now assuming on wireless g. Strange.........

[Q] Wifi issue with RSK ROM 7.4 with 802.1x security

I installed RSK Springtime v 7.4 with SNQ kernel. After a couple of hickups (like ext4 partition issue, FC issue at first boot, getting google play apk from different forum because it was always force closing) I was able to install it perfectly and it is working absolutely fine now and I am loving this ROM.
The only issue remains is that I am not able to connect WIFI using 802.1x enterprise security in office. With WPA2 I am able to connect at home.
After searching the forums I found that few people resolved WIFI issue with a different kernel DZ #18 but not sure if the issue they were facing was with 802.1x or it was a general issue.
Can the RSK team suggest what should I do? I am not really keen on redoing the complete exercise of installing the ROM again but if thats the only solution I guess I had to go that way.
The change log of 7.4 says that this issue if fixed but doesn't look like it is fixed (Fixed wifi to connect with 802.1x, PEAP and MSCHAP (Hope)).
Device: Desire (Bravo) PVT1 S-OFF
Kernel: SNQ Kernel 2.6.35.8-snq-111118
Radio: 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
Recovery: 4EXT Touch Recovery
SD Card: Transcend 4GB Class 8
Rom: R.S.K V7.4

No, it could find the SSID .. .says authenticating ... and then disconnects.
Did you try to add the network manually?

Yes, since we have a hidden SSID, I had to add the network manually.
Before rooting, it use to work only after moving to the new ROM, i am getting this error.

I used that rom and i got wifi no problem, so its probably rom issues with that type of security on the broadband.

Updated to RSK special edition.
The workaround to this issue is to put credential password and then connect. Once connected it will work till I reboot the phone.

Hi, you have to go into Settings and the click on Wi-Fi for a few seconds and let go. It will bring you into the next menu where you can choose the network you would like to connect to.
Once you find your Wi-Fi network, simply click on the name and enter in the password (if it has any).
I just switched over from a stable Gingerbread version of MIUI to this Jelly Bean rom and I like it so far.

Thank you for your answer. I tried every method to turn on the wifi. But it not seems to working. It is not turning on. I tried to find this answer on google and as well as XDA but I didn't find any answer to this question. I think this wifi issue is occurring on PVT4 devices but not sure what could be the possible reason for it.
Now, I think I should stay on GB and I am installing Leedroid. Let's see if this error still exist.

Strange, it resolved the wifi problem. I flashed the rom and removed the SD card and the wifi is properly working. I didn't figured it out how to manually add IP address. Just like in GB roms we have advance settings in wifi menu. In ICS there wasn't any advance settings.
