[Q] Runnymede AIO v5.0 Wifi Wont connect - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I had initially flashed the Runnymede AIO Rom v4.0.2 to my HTC Desire with no issues, using CM7 r2 hboot, radio 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23. All worked very well, when 4.0.3 was introduced, I then flashed that rom, which intalled without a problem, however I was unable to connect to my Wifi, it found the signal and let me enter the security key, but just stays as connecting then disconnected. . I then flashed V4.0.2 back expecting that to work, however wifi still doesn't connect. Now Ver 5.0 is out completely wiped phone and intalled, all ok, but STILL no wifi .
Has anyone else experienced this issue? any advice on fixing this? help please!

Is it stuck on obtaining IP address?

Hi,
I am currently having the same issue, Runnyed AIO v5.0.1 with Cm7r Hboot (fresh install did it thismorning).
in my case, I have attempted to do it with a static ip and without on multiple wireless routers.
It has remembered my wifi network, says it's secured WPA etc but the icon up the top shows a 1 bar with a green ex.
Wi-Fi option continuously loops between Disconnected, Connecting... Connecting to wifi... Disconnected and so on.
Edit:
I tried selecting 'Wifi Protected setup' and then selected WPS > PBC (Push Button Configuration). They found each other now my device works on my home network.

yours is v5.0 or v5.1?
I'm fine with v5.0, now flashing v5.1 and try...

by the way, do u face any Force Close problem?

go to the addons on the op,download snq,s kernel.flash should be ok,if not there is another zip wifi fix or something like that in the same section ..

anyone of you face Force Closes problem?
I have been flashing this ROM from v4.0.1 till v5.0.1, almost once per day for a week I tried. but still facing FC problem...
I'm using CM7/r2 and 1024MB 4EXT partition via 4EXT Recovery Touch,0MB swap...
I think I did correct on my hboot and sd partition, what is problem with my setup =.=

Wipe dalvik-cache plus cache in recovery.

I've had this issue with one of the V4 AIO ROMS (Can't remeber the exact version) but I managed to fix it by entering a Static IP address in the WiFi settings.

Yes it was stuck on optaining ip address then disconnecting. It was fine on v4.2 then stoped working in 4.3. My router was set to wireless n only. Changed to bgn mixed mode and now works fine.
Looked up and saw that desire doesn't support wireless n.... Odd it must have cause I havnt changed it.
Anyways working fine now assuming on wireless g. Strange.........

Hi,
I flashed my ROM with CM7 Nightly recently and now I am unable to scan any WIFI networks. When I switch on Wifi it says scanning and then it drops and the scanning re-appears within a few seconds This is happening continuously.
Note - flashed the radio too to the latest but didn't work

[Q] Wifi issue with RSK ROM 7.4 with 802.1x security

I installed RSK Springtime v 7.4 with SNQ kernel. After a couple of hickups (like ext4 partition issue, FC issue at first boot, getting google play apk from different forum because it was always force closing) I was able to install it perfectly and it is working absolutely fine now and I am loving this ROM.
The only issue remains is that I am not able to connect WIFI using 802.1x enterprise security in office. With WPA2 I am able to connect at home.
After searching the forums I found that few people resolved WIFI issue with a different kernel DZ #18 but not sure if the issue they were facing was with 802.1x or it was a general issue.
Can the RSK team suggest what should I do? I am not really keen on redoing the complete exercise of installing the ROM again but if thats the only solution I guess I had to go that way.
The change log of 7.4 says that this issue if fixed but doesn't look like it is fixed (Fixed wifi to connect with 802.1x, PEAP and MSCHAP (Hope)).
Device: Desire (Bravo) PVT1 S-OFF
Kernel: SNQ Kernel 2.6.35.8-snq-111118
Radio: 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
Recovery: 4EXT Touch Recovery

Do you get any errors / messages when you try to connect to Enterprise-network?

No, it could find the SSID .. .says authenticating ... and then disconnects.
Did you try to add the network manually?

Yes, since we have a hidden SSID, I had to add the network manually.
Before rooting, it use to work only after moving to the new ROM, i am getting this error.

Updated to RSK special edition.
The workaround to this issue is to put credential password and then connect. Once connected it will work till I reboot the phone.

[Q] How to fix my not working WiFi ( Video showing a problem )

Hello, I'm new here to this and to the flashing stuff and rest.
I wanted to do some change to my buzz so I just flashed my 2.2.1 to 2.3.7 (CyanogenMod-7.1.0.1).
Everything was fine, flashed Gapps also.
The only thing is my wi-fi isn't working.
It can't even connect. It's like refreshing by 3 secs and doing that in a circle.
Link to video: youtube : watch?v=iFqWoqaX0fU
/// What I Did:
- Reflashed CyanogenMod twice.
- Reflashed my radio (the newest version anyway).
- Flashed 19.25 radio with CWM 2.5.0.7 still nothing.
/// Specs:
- Android 2.3.7
- CyanogenMod-7.1.0.1
- Radio 3.35.19.25
- HBOOt 6.01.1002
- S-OFF
Did everything today and WiFi was working in the morning perfectly (on 2.2.1)
If you know a solution write it down step by step, im new to this.
Recheck your wifi password.. Authenticating is failing by the looks of it.
WiFI password
Nope, wifi password is good.
It even seems to like even refusing to scanning if u can see.
All I can see is that it scans your wifi and you enter the password which it fails to authenticate. It tries a couple of times and then disables it. If the password is correct, it should atleast try getting an ip.
Try using static ip and see if it helps..
WiFI
The password is not bad checked like 10 times. Static IP doesnt help neither.
And If u look scanning and everything also fails. It scanns and disconnects and fails ...
And I said that that morning WiFi was working perfectly on 2.2.1
Have you tried removing the password? (Just to test if it really is the password)
WiFi
Yes I Did.
try the latest cyanogenmod stable, 7.2.0
CM
There is no 7.2 stable...
There is.
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=buzz
7.2 version
Installed 7.2 version
formatted system wiped data / cache and factory reset
still the same thing happens
Try using someone else's wifi and see if that works..

WiFi on ARHD 8.x.x

Hey..
So I'm not new to Android development and ROMs but I just can't find any possible explanation or even a temp solution to WiFi on my HOX running ARHD 8.0.0 and 8.1.0
My HOX will not connect to my home network and is stuck on "Obtaining IP address" !!
I tried wiping cache, full wipe and reflash ROM, rebooting both phone and router, turning airplane mode on and off, static IP but no use...
I updated to ARHD 8.1.0 but the problem is still there, and I tried the maXimus ROM.. seems the problem has something to do with the new base or Sense 4.1 .. because those ROMs all use that base, while AOSP / old base ROMs perfectly connect to WiFi.
Each one of the 3 ROMs (ARHD 8, 8.1 and maXimus) connected to that network once after flashing but after that stopped connecting (optaining IP)
any ideas?? I really love the better Sense UI speed and the overall fixes and I abandoned the CM10 ROM for this.. Please help !! Thanks in advance
Sorry if I mess up everything in English, my first language is Greek
Hi this has heppend to me a few times turn your WiFi box of for about 10 sec and turn it of on your phone aswell turn ye box back on then it phone WiFi
Then it should work

Flash the boot.img..
Try a different kernel and see if that solves any of your problems
WiFi Fixer App did it for me... Had a WiFi /3G issue right after flashing the first CM10 p12 that came out Saturday afternoon, when neither 3G or WiFi would get internet... Apparently it has soneghing to do with the different areas worldwide where Fones with slightly different hardware are sold.. Try the app and see if it works..

thanks guys !! the problem seems to have strangely fixed itself without any effort from me I was just going to make a call and noticed it was connected to the network and working very well.. and when I was at a cafe it connected normally to the network there
tried a reboot and it still works.. finally
I still don't understand what's happening but I'm glad it's fixed !
Thanks a lot for your help !!

Hi, you have to go into Settings and the click on Wi-Fi for a few seconds and let go. It will bring you into the next menu where you can choose the network you would like to connect to.
Once you find your Wi-Fi network, simply click on the name and enter in the password (if it has any).
I just switched over from a stable Gingerbread version of MIUI to this Jelly Bean rom and I like it so far.

Thank you for your answer. I tried every method to turn on the wifi. But it not seems to working. It is not turning on. I tried to find this answer on google and as well as XDA but I didn't find any answer to this question. I think this wifi issue is occurring on PVT4 devices but not sure what could be the possible reason for it.
Now, I think I should stay on GB and I am installing Leedroid. Let's see if this error still exist.

Strange, it resolved the wifi problem. I flashed the rom and removed the SD card and the wifi is properly working. I didn't figured it out how to manually add IP address. Just like in GB roms we have advance settings in wifi menu. In ICS there wasn't any advance settings.
