Last night I had a dream I was playing with my phone but it was all melted looking but still functional. I've had other dreams where im trying to talk to someone, I can hear a voice but can never understand what they're saying. Anybody have weird dreams that are phone related?

Well manufacturers supports a device for a required 18 months, and be the release of ICS, I believe the Evo can handle it. Whether it gets an 'official' update I can't give you a definite answer, though I'm sure there will be ports if nothing else.

Unofficially on 2.3.4, yes. Officially, who knows. Its pretty close so its something HTC/Sprint could roll out if they wanted to but I would bet they would want to push people to the Evo 3d.
I wouldnt bet on an official ICS. Maybe unofficially but I doubt it there too, development is starting to fall off for the Evo, its just becoming to old.
Rumor is that end of life (EOL) for the Evo is this October, but again, only rumor.

Yup...and with the end of life, to my understanding, that's the 'end' of required support...basically the 18 months thing; though it could, but realistically, not likely to happen, as the Evo is still a powerhouse, its just 'technically' old and better phone are coming out. Though a good chance of a port coming, even if from the 3D.

Some users just have different levels of understanding...though I had a Blackbery when my first evo got stolen, and I'd rather have used a T9 10$ virgin mobile phone than use that Blackberry...it was awful.

Shut your kiddy ass up look at my sign up date that is the day I got my EVO and all of the stuff I know today I learned from then to now if you would take the time to read and pay attention then maybe you would learn something I could careless what you know about PSP or PS3 but i tell you this now this flashing with a phone is way easier than hacking a PS3 maybe that's your forte good for you I'm glad your actually worth something on a different forum maybe! just maybe!

Guessing that is aimed at people like me. Listen mate, if you wait 6 weeks for a phone you want to make sure it's right.
As it happens, the auto brightness is really aggressive, which means the screen automatically sets it's self very low and therefore it's very obviously patchy. If you turn the screen up it looks fine but this obviously isn't that practical.
There's nothing wrong with asking a few questions.
Tbh that is exactly what you should expect when you are a website originally built for developers and there has been the release of a new phone primarily aimed at developers.
They'll naturally want to know the capabilities and issues with their phone, more so even than another phone like S2.

I can't stop laughing at all those weeks I waited and the £530 I paid.
Every time I think of the bugs and problems, I have to pick myself up the floor from letting out a hearty laugh. I just can't help myself. In fact... I think there's one coming now....can't....stop....myself.......HA HA HA!
Come on now. We bought a new phone. It was expensive. We waited through delay after delay, and uncertainty from retailers telling us one thing then changing it at the last second to something else.
We're trying to enjoy it, we really are, but the problems are stopping us from doing so.
Oh...and Coors Light sucks. Drink some proper beer.

A phone/tablet/monitor with a dead pixel, car with a chipped windshield, or a plasma HDTV with image burn are real reasons to complain/return the item. I have no problem with someone wanting to return a Nexus they bought if it has a line through the screen or the volume buttons aren't working properly.
The difference here is that most people are complaining about extremely subjective things, and frankly getting really nit-picky about finding "problems".
Its like returning a car because "it just doesn't handle right for me", a plasma HDTV because "it doesn't look very good with my stereo equipment", or a phone because "the menu button doesn't work the way I thought it would".
But this isn't exclusive to the Galaxy Nexus. People like to complain about every phone that comes out. Most of the people complaining don't even own the phone either. If you read any forum within a week after a device comes out, it'll make you feel like the device is an absolute POS that you shouldn't have paid $5 for. Get the device for yourself and make your own decision, I'm sure you'll be much happer with it.
Anyways, OP, I'm with you. Take all these threads as pure comedic relief. There's no reason to put any stock into what these people are saying. Read it for fun, form your own opinions after you use the device.

YeH. We did this on the mesmerize GS and it did look pretty cool. It gives a little contrast to the upper part of the phone.

Oh i didnt have any place to take the photo in my room so i just took it on my girlfriend who was too busy watching senior citizen flash mod you tube video's on her GSII to even notice lol
Well if you guys live around northern va shoot me a PM. I'm a tech for sprint so I can change the housing or anything on your phone if need it. I guess a lot of people got offended by my post of this but I'm glad there's still people out there that aren't all about bashing. Opinions opinions

Well i personally think its awesome you did it. Like i said i went for the leap my self and razored my evo. From about 5ft away it looks awesome, but up close you could see it was not lookin so hot. What i was trying to say about the paint is you can go around the edges with the nail pollish or hobby paint and tiuch it up EVER so slightly and it would take out the MINOR defects. Idk back in the day mt dad did model cars and stuff. Seems like kids and younge adults these days dont physically mod things so much. I love doing so though. You only live once right? Besides we alk get the latest and greatest phones to start fresh with every year or 2. Cruckus man, i may just bust out my shinny new razor soon and give it a shot. The idea is sweet brother

I think it looks pretty cool from far away when using my phone normally it doesn't look bad its when you get real close but who stares into an earpiece? It's like people who buy ripped jeans some think its dumb others think it looks cool. I also said I did it with an old hunting knife because I don't have a razor blade. I'm sure someone can do it better then me.
Just a note, its surrounded by Gorilla Glass, so unless you're really wrenching on the blade this isn't too intensive of a project.

Personally I thought it was witty and funny. But do you suffer from conditions triggered by effects such as flash photography? If there's stuff in the video that can be a problem for such conditions, we should post a warning and meanwhile produce a better video.

I think the content is fine. I also think people with conditions such as this should be able to look out for themselves. Nobody blames Hollywood for putting out movies with lots of explosions, or dubstep artists who whose songs are probably seizure-inducing. The video itself is humorous and informative and I don't think anything should be changed content-wise. At the very most, maybe a 3-5 second delay with a video dialog box that has a warning in it, but that's it.

The idea is to make it witty and funny, so members will watch the whole video and learn a little about the rules, also not being able to read it, thats why is says everthing that is show in the vidoe. Also i think a lot less people would watch the video if it was to serious, resulting in less members understanding the basic rules.

The video is not only hilarious, but it's most importantly memorable. It gets across a message, and it does it very well. I can only assume the seizure thing is a joke, but even if it isn't then the video still isn't that bad and people know what to do if they know they have a condition of some sort.
It is the best intro video I have ever seen, so i don't think it should be changed
If it was seizure inducing, a warning would be legit. That's why video games have the warning. If people have this condition, it is hard to stop looking fast enough to prevent a seizure. It only takes 3 flashes in one second to cause. That being said, very funny video..
