[Q] setting background color, how to change?

I want to change the background color of the settings menu from my SGS. It's black now (in every theme, stock or custom).
Anyone know which png file I have to change? Or is this a color described in a color XML file?
I hope someone can help

Really nobody know's? (maybe the reason that also every custom made theme has that standard black background).

Take a look inside settings.apk - I believe there's a bg file in there (haven't tried changing it)...
Edit: Now I can't find it. Hmmm, sure I saw it somewhere...

When there's no png for background it can be .xml related.
You need to decompile Settings.apk to edit .xml-files...

what's the best xml editor?

No one knows which xml doc I have to take to change the background colors?

I have ADW launcher ex. But you can change just a few things instead of what I excepted. it's not crap but absolute not what it says: change almost everything!!
So I think I have to live with that ugly black background because no one can tell me how to change it.

i'm using since many months this kind of icons.
But it's not the real ICS color (RGB : 63 / 155 / 191 or Hex : #3F9BBF)
I've made a zip file with all the icons
Someone is interested to change the color of these icons ?

Hey I am usually a very helpfull guy, but do you have access to gimp or photoshop? Because I dont want to change 141 icons^^

yeah i have a cs4 portable version

I have never had any luck with batch or scripted work in gimp and don't use photoshop, but both can do batch color changes. Maybe you can do it that way. I personally would love these in a dark red. They are very nice icons!

I suggest looking at this thread.....there are several ICS color icon packs available in different icon styles
some with over 700 icons per pack.....good luck

[REQ] White ICS statusbar icons for CM9

Ok.. ive searched and bought like 2 themes... and still nothing is what i want!
i tried Black infinitum and Holo white... They do give me white icons yes... the theme "Black Infinitum" is the closest ive managed to find
what i want is: 100% original ICS icons in white... not some ugly % battery or another battery!(no offence..) but 100% stock, but in white..
so what im asking is...
Anyone know a theme wich is black/white instead of black/blue? i want it to be 100% the same icons, but in white..

don't u think ive allready tried that ? i am not that good at photoshop.. but i know the stuff that i need! but some of the pics are wierd.. so not easy ive seen the pack somewhere.. i know it! but im on CM9 so dunno.

i want this theme but with a white version of the stock ICS battery
he is using the stock icons in white, but the battery isn't stock... its a meter of some sort.. and i don't want that
instead of blue/black i want white/black...

well kinda i just want the stock ICS icons... but only in white and not blue if its possible to make a flashable zip it would be awesome, or if u could edit the black infinitum theme and PM me it because its donate.. so i guess sharing it here would be.. illegal (i got the donate version)

Thats what i said originally, you want the the stock framework icons from sdk 15(ICS) in white not blue.

in his Screenshot he has a circle battery.. this is not stock

Go to UOT kitchen
Click the "battery tab"
Click "use this mod"
Click "custom battery"
Select "stock" and adjust the values to suit your requirements
Upload your framework/SystemUI in the "File upload" tab
Click "Summary" tab and "submit to kitchen"

i head UOT was bad:/ ppl were complaining about its quality.. or is this not true?

EDIT: this is not correct, it worked.. but it gives me the wrong battery icon :/ i want stock ICS icon, not sense icon :/

You wont find stock ics battery icons in white.
There are too many incompatabilities when overlaying the icons with white, you would need to recreate them individually.
Just use the sense icons and rotate them 90' clock wise

I can't change .xml files I can't see codes when I open .xml files :S I think I must change a xml file to change color but How? and Which one?

Search. You will definitely find in one of the threads in the Themes and Apps forum itself.
And, Please ask QUESTIONS in Q & A forum.
Tip - If you search, you can find a MOD by bala_gamer.
That will change your background to blue.
A simple editing in the file can change the background to your desired shade/color.

Try framework-res.apk/red/values/bools.XML
I'm certain there's a "is white" type setting in there

supreethms is right, but to make it a bit easier the mod is called "touch-wiz glass: and as he mentioned it's pretty much what you're looking for.

@all themers out there:
i am on KitSlim Evo9, this ROM is great but the background of the settings menu isn´t very nice (white).
My question: how can i change the background color of it?
I googled a lot but didn´t find something helpful.
I have experience in compiling and decompiling apk´s so this is not the problem.

See this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2667081, or just grab a "Dark" one from the Themes and Apps section.

In order android versions u could change background by replacing semc_bg or semc background or just background depends on rom. Those files are located in drawable (xhdpi, hdpi etc) inside framework-res

thx, all is fine now except this aweful grey background of popup windows e.g. reboot or settings popup window.
Font is white, that´s great, but bg is grey
