I used to have Xperia X10 and really like its Launcher and with the Xperia Arc it got better and better. So I got the latest stock Xperia Arc Launcher and modified it to fit the GS2 resolution and made 7 screens instead of 5.
So far it's working smoothly with no FC's or lags.
You'll get with this launcher:
1- Beautiful Folders
2- Organize Icons by (Alphabetically , Installation date, or as you wish)
3- Pinch gesture to get flying widgets

I downloaded the No Corners WVGA800 one but it doesn't show any transparency. Like opening the app drawer, the background is black with all the icons. I even have a widget (google search transparency widget) and it even shows a black background.
Did I download the wrong one for my s2 or something?

I had this problem before before gingerbread 2.3.4. After I upgraded the transparency is ok.

Can anyone give me a tutorial on how to resize the launcher for SGS2 so i can always update it to latest!

I just modified the Smooth Calendar widget for my own use. I used it with HTC sense, but the black background (nor 100% transparency) doesn't fit with Samsung TouchWiz. Use it if you want to.
Original app:
Smooth Calendar
v1.0.0.2
by Carl Cedergren
Market link
The only changes I've made:
- Replaced the black background with the transparent background also used by the TouchWiz digital clock.
- Resigned the apk with a random signature for installation.
Download & Install:
Smooth Calendar [Modified]
v1.0.0.2
See attachment for APK
Uninstall:
Via Settings>Applications>Manage applications

Thnx, I know there are a lot of calendar widgets and I've tried many of them. I like this one for its simplicity and it still has a lot of settings for customization.

Hey guys i saw an article about the new Motorola phone at Link and
there is an image that show android ics with transparent softkeys and statusbar backgrounds.
It would be really nice when it will be released if the devs could see how it works and if it is possible to port it to our device
without a huge performance issue!

+ 100 to Op , I would highly appreciate a transparent status bar or a hybrid bar for maguro
I may be wrong but I was sure that on most custom ICS ROMs there was a transparency setting for many of those items?
I've seen the setting for transparent status bar before, and I had issues. It looked great on lock screen/homescreen, but once I was in an app it looked funny, usually a gray color that made the bar in readable because of the contrast.

So far I've only tried it on ICS+ based roms and on the following devices: GSII, GSIII, GNexus and Tmo Note II. Worked on all.
Oh man if only this (circles widget) worked with Apex launcher. That would be fantastic. Tested on JB it is working but only with the Moto Launcher, which I really don't care for. Anybody know how to "fix" the circles widget to work on other launchers?
Sorry only way to get a widget similar to this one is to download the "One More Clock Widget Free" or the paid app in the playstore and choose the chrome circle clock skin.

Awesome thanks. That'll do.
Basically what the stupidly long title says
I want to use the stock launcher but have the ability to change the icons to more than just the LG ones
Thanks
Download icon changer free from Play and use to create shortcuts of apps on home screen. You can download many free icon packs to use. Note it will only work on the home screen, for system wide you'll need another launcher.

If you have root and don't mind going the tedious method of individually changing the icons of each app, you can extract the icon that you want to use from an icon pack, store it on your phone, and edit the app icon using a custom 1x1 image and use the extracted icon.
Sample of edited AirDroid icon:

Had it on my Nexus 5 previously. Had some problem getting it to work properly for the popular Click UI icon pack (with the icon masks not displaying properly, etc) and the app has not been updated (at least on the Play Store) since Dec 2013, so I don't know if the creator is still supporting it or not.
does anyone know how to get rid of the little green androids on the LG icons in the app drawer?
i am using moonshine + nova launcher and noticed that the LG system app icons remains unchanged.
Lets start a thread for home screen setups! It's always so inspiring to see how many different ways people customize their phones.
I downloaded this app called Palette by Sam Beckman. Check out from the link in he's name how he applies all the customizations.
It's a great app to get inspired and ultimately customize your phone.
Here is my setup atm.
It's a modified version of the "Creamy blends" setup in Palette app. All the details of that setup is in the app. I combined it with the GLO icon pack.

No matter how many times I customize the homescreen, I always come back to this version. Black wallpaper should help with burn in issues, and it's very easy on the eyes at night. Minimal icons on the desktop that take me to my often used apps, and that's about it. ) Nova launcher helped me shape the icons.
Stock launcher, you icons using Shortcut maker, Kwgt with Shadow kwgt widget pack.
