[Q] Removing Xperia default lockscreen (rooted) - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The default lock-screen is rubbish, not showing "now playing" music or anything like that.
I have a far better music player, but it's lockscreen and the default Xperia one conflict alot of the time, is it possible to SAFELY remove the Xperia one? If so how?
Thanks,.

How long will it take for the mods to work out the suggested threads in the posting page does not work...
I did a search and came up with nothing... Perhaps there are usability problems with the site, or perhaps things are in the wrong place....
So rather than complaining, perhaps answer the question, there is an app that can prevent it (widget locker), but I am looking to remove it from my ROM, not really add yet more apps.

I did a search and came up with threads from this and other forums asking the exact same thing, as it's never been answered we can take it that no one has figured out how because if they had there would be instructions posted here on XDA explaining how, so to answer your questions, probably and no one knows.

remove lockscreen

Can you have seperate wallpapers for portrait and landscape?

Hi guys.
I did try searching but didn't find anything about this.
I miss having separate wallpapers for portrait and landscape like I had on my TP2.
Is it possible to do this on a G1, with 1.6, and no root?
(Please don't start the "why don't you root" stuff, at this point in time I will not get any benefit from it, I don't feel like changing all my settings again, and there seems to be no definite guide for UK DRC92.)
android has no built in feature that allows you to do this but there may be a home replacement app that will do this, not sure though

I was kind of hoping there was an app that'd allow this with the stock home, every home replacement I've tried has either been laggy, FC's a lot, or is just useless in general.
I am not aware of any such feature. It's not doable in the stock home screen or any home replacement I'm aware of.

Dual Wallpaper allows the user to select two different wallpapers to be set when the phone is either in Landscape or Portrait mode.
When the orientation changes, the application will automatically change the wallpaper.
For 2.x phones only
Does NOT require root.
Latest version: 1.0.0 (for Android version 2.0 and higher)

[Q] Change answer/decline call method?

I just switched back to sense using the Desire HD rom. but I'm remembering the biggest thing i hate about sense: swiping up and down on incoming calls. Obviously I keep my phone in my pocket and locked most of the time, so getting a call and pulling my phone from my pocket answers or declines the call for me depending on which way its sitting in there. why htc decided to use this, I dont know but it sucks.
My question would be: has someone figured out how to change this to the standard form of answering/rejecting calls? Even the galaxy s phones uses vanilla style but we get the crap up and down bar.

Use a root explorer program and delete the htc lockscreen, under it is the vanilla one, the one where you slide left and right

I tried that on all the standard sense roms and that only changed the lockscreen for me, but not the incoming calls. also, on the Desire HD rom, I can't even delete the apk because it causes bootloops for some reason.

Deleting the lockscreen apk has no bearing on the phone apk.
To answer the OP, there is currently no way to disable the slide to answer function that I am aware of as this question has come up repeatedly in the dev forum. Deleting the phone apk causes some fairly significant issues, as you can imagine.

yea I thought so. I figured it would have to do with phone apk calling up the function from android.policy or services.jar wasn't sure if anyone knew how to change it.

This is the reason I will never consider switching back to any Sense based rom. I have accidently answered/declined a call more times than I can remember. Thank god the rebooting issue was figured out for the AOSP roms.

Search for No Lock or Easy Answer Button in the market. Either app should provide a suitable workaround.

I don't understand the workaround with No Lock. This application in not to unlock the device with a button?
I've installed Easy Answer Button. It doesn't work perfectly, and I have the same problem: the case answer or cancel randomly a incoming call
Thanks!
Same for me i need to change this method of answer call , i've tested Easy answer button , tedd droid tools but it's really what i want.
I want to slide on the left or on the right in order to answer or reject a call.
Someone can help me please ?
Edit: I've found what i want with cyanogen mod , it's perfect now .
That was my big problem with slide way answering a call too, but it's not anymore due to SimplyLock app that I found in market.
Hope it will help all guys who ran into the same problem.
I searched a few hours for a solution of this problem and finally found one i will try now.
The App I installed is called HD Caller ID and is free.
So for you, looking for a solution try this App. Maybe it´s good for your belongings.

[Q] Remove "connected" notification in sense 3.5

The title describes it. When connecting over 3G/HSDPA, how can I remove this? It's incredibly frustrating.

if only people who didnt know what their talking about would shut the hell up.
trust me, several folks are working on a fix for this but as for right now the best that can be done is to hide the icon in the notification bar by making a transparent image to replace the icon in phone.apk.
but this will NOT remove the notification in the dropdown which is what im sure you are referring to. so dont let that guy lead you on a wild goose chase just cuz he doesnt understand your plain and simple question.

Well, I was sure he was talking about in the status bar, so just because we're both sure of different things doesn't make either of us wrong. Maybe my previous answer was slightly rude, but I was offering the location of the best fix at the present moment.
So, with two different ways to interpret this question, we both helped him, I'm sure adequately. The links below will take you to the thread to remove the icon (not the notification).

Thanks guys, it was only because I was using mindhacker's rom (or whatever hes called) and he managed to remove it, which looked great but was one of the biggest battery drainer roms I've ever come across.

lockscreen calendar @ Pro

Does anyone have an idea how to mod the lockscreen in an rooted Android...
I´m looking for more than one calendar event shown at the lockscreen at the same time.
And no, i dont want to use an add therefor because that will sometimes not work properly and the screen is not locked when i press the power button in the pocket, so the phone is unlocked sometimes.
Normally it should be possible to mod the lockscreen in Android, shouldn´t it? does anyone have some experience or can give me some advices?
Better to bring this up in Q&A...
Anyways, it is possible to do it, but you would better off using NXT lockscreen to try this mod.

sorry for wrong posting.
so, I had already Roms with the next loockscreen, but there you still have only one line for calendar preview. the preview changes in a presetted timeframe, but that's still not exactly what I wish to have. for 2.3 there was an app called "loockscreen calender", that listed more than one event at one time at the lock screen, but that doesn't work with ICS or jb. and as I posted already, a custom fully lock screen app isn't that save to work properly.
does anyone know a solution?

Notifications in Lockscreen?

I've been using my iphone for the last few months but have recently decided to go back to my trusty old HOX. The problem is I've forgotten how to get facebook and twitter notifications to pop up on the lockscreen as they appear in real time. I can't even remember if they ever did do this, but I'm sure I remember something along those lines.
In ios7 the tweets and fb conversations pop up and light up the screen so you can just glance at your phone to see what's going on without actually turning it on. Is it possible in android? I noticed the social networking lockscreen option has disappeared, this might be what I was thinking of.
I'm using sense ARHD latest version, would consider flashing AOKP/CM to get this feature if it's possible.
Thanks.

Thanks, they are already syncing I just want the notification to come up on the lock screen.
I thought maybe there was a setting somewhere I'd forgotten about but now I don't think it's possible, at least not natively.
I might look into 3rd party lockscreens. If I find a solution I'll post here in case anyone else is interested.
Thanks for the help guys
DashClock (and the appropriate plugins) should be able to do that.

Thank you, that was it, I remember now. Only problem is it isn't there anymore in Sense 5, at least not on ARHD.
Is anyone using a different sense 5 rom who could confirm if the productivity lockscreen is in the lockscreen options? I think it might have been missed out in sense 5.
Thanks.

If you use ViperX rom, you can add applications on a one-by-one basis in their tweaks for the lockscreen. It comes up a little differently than normal Productivity sense 5 alerts, but I think that should be more what you're looking for.
