[Q] Help - bricked Desire

Hi,
I have (had) an unbranded, unlocked, Desire. I rooted, I loaded custom rom (worked fine), but the ROM manager screwed up something. I guess, it reflashed the bootloader (or recovery?), but failed.
Now the desire cannot boot. It stucked at the white screen, with HTC logo.
I can enter the bootloader. It says:

HBOOT-USB PLUG
If I try to go to RECOVERY the screen goes white, and nothing happens.
If I put the PB99IMG.zip to SD card, the HBOOT finds it, but says, "Main version is older"
The RUU utility can see the phone, but can't reflash it, because of error 140
Please help me, what to do.

[Q] HTC Desire not booting after theme installed

I installed a neondroid theme from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554028 from the SD card through recovery mode, rebooted my phone, and it won't boot to the wallpaper.
It's supposed to show the joker with s-off on it for a few seconds then go off then my network provider shows then my wallpaper.
It just stays at the joker then a black line appears on screen.
Any ideas how I can get my phone functioning again??
img flashing won't work as i get a CID error, just in case anyone suggests anything. I don't know how to overcome this cid error.

Reboot into recovery, go to mounts and storage and ersae everything apart from sdcard, then restore backup. Should fix it.
I have no recovery file. Is there a copy somewhere i could use?
You should always work with backup in the recovery, before flashing anything.
One thing you might try: Get the zip of your current ROM (not the Theme) and flash it right over...
And be patient: first boot always takes some time.
To get rid of of the cid error, you need either create goldcard with ubuntu or use the appropriate ruu from your provider (make sure this one is not too old).
Which rom are you running? As far as I understand, this theme is for only cyanogenmod 4.0.4.

[Q] S-ON stuck on bootloop

Hi,
My HTC desire is stuck on boot loop.
I tried various options:
1. clear storage and reboot
2. remove sim and reboot
3. remove sim and sd card and reboot
4. Flashed Android gingerbread upgrade (2.3.3) ROM (using goldcard) and reboot
My phone is still stuck on boot loop.

Can i try to downgrade HBOOT and flash Stock Froyo RUU?
Update on this issue
Hi,
I tried to S-OFF using revolutionary 0.4pre4 windows, but the phone is not recognised in fastboot usb mode and i get the message "waiting for device...."
Is this phone bricked?
Thanks and regards,
Aravindan
depends on rom. maybe you have to partion your sd 1. partiton fat32 and 2. partition ext3 or ext4 (ca 1,5 GB; min 1GB max 2GB) for dalvik cache to sd
Check this guide if you haven't seen this yet.

Thanks stankyou.
Yes, i tried my options based on that post.
My Phone had stock rom Gingerbread 2.3.3 with S-ON.
I tried flashing the Stock ROM and it went through fine no errors throughout the process.
But once the phone rebooted after flashing, it was still boot looping.
My phone is recognized on my laptop at HBOOT menu but when it goes into fastboot it is not recognized.
Refridgerator trick?
Going to try Refridgerator trick (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134062&page=2) today.
Keeping my fingers crossed X
Update: It did not work :-(

Flashing New Recovery

Having trouble with my DHD at the moment.
Tried updating my 4EXT Recovery and now for some reason the phone boots the stock recovery screen. This is the black screen with a picture of a phone and a red triangle with an exclamation mark on it.
So I thought the best thing to do would be flash a whole new recovery onto the phone.
I can get in to H-Boot and BootLoader, but am having problems flashing a recovery.
Not the most knowledgeable with this sort of thing tbh, so this is where i need help.
I have tried downloading a version of 4EXT Recovery (not sure if i'm using the right one or not) and a ClockwordMod Recovery, placing on the root of the SD card and renamed to PB99IMG.zip (is this correct?) But the H-boot doesn't install it.
Here are the details i can provide:

If anyone could tell me what i'm doing wrong or what to use instead it would be a great help!
Try renaming that file to pd98img.zip, reboot into bootloader, and when it asks you if you would like to update with the pd98img file select yes, and see if it works.
