Really? Why? Did it mess up something on your phone, Ive gad this for a while now and havent had any issues
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
it just too much stuff you need to configure properly for it to work well, i didn't have the time to go through all that
and after you install it, even if you un-install the app, all the locked down settings remains in the phone

Something that is really ticking me off after I updated my phone to 4.24, is that most of the time when i go into any app , and go back to the home page, the white and green HTC logo pops up and sense loads all over again ! Anyone else having this bug?

My phone just started doing that, it seemed to happen right after installing Google Plus. Do you have Google Plus installed?
I suggest backing up ur SD card and formating it and doing a fresh install of Rom. That's what worked for me.

He's on the stock unrooted (and unrootable) rom. Backing up everything isn't really possible. His only option along those lines would be a hard reset with some data loss (of course most of the big things can be backed up or synced). If I were in that situation, I'd want to try other things first.
LiL xSOULJAx, it sounds like you're running low on memory. When you go into another app, it's killing the launcher, so it has to restart when you press the home button. If you're talking about this happening when you go into a game or something that probably does take a lot of memory itself, there's not much you can do. But if it happens with every app, even relatively simple ones, you should check under Applications -> Manage -> Running and see if there's anything running in the background that takes a lot of memory. If you see something hungry you can live without, try uninstalling it.
Thanks alot for the info ! Yes i do have google plus but im about to uninstall alot of apps and see if it helps , thanks again

Here is a lot of info, that will show that a factory reset helps some, but the awaited update will be the only resolution, That is if they don't screw it up also:

Well now my issue is all over since they I rooted yesterday ! Its amazing how fun rooting is lol, the whole process is mindblowing !
Are you running a task killer? If you end up killing the calendar app that's running in the background, it will reboot sense like 50 percent of the time.

Just curious who else is using the LookOut app?
I've been using it on my past three devices, Galaxy4G, LG G2X and SGSII...seems pretty cool... I don't know... what do you all think?
1. Curious how much system resource it uses to be running in the background constantly?
2. How much does it really effect the battery?
3. Is it worth even having?
Pros:
I like the locate, back up and scan features.
i use it, also for the location (in case i lose it) and it scans my apps (i dont know if it actually makes a difference)...but it doesnt seem to lag my phone at all and there is no noticeable battery drain
that is the first thing i removed from the stock ROM
Can you list the reasons why?

on my old phones, it slowed them down, in this phone i don't think it will make any speed difference
but we are safe, and i see no reason to use it
if you just wan GPS tracking, the build in Google Maps feature have it
and there are tons of other phone retrieval apps that consumes less resources than look out, and can be activated with SMS
also look out is extremely annoying as they keep spamming you with junk mail for as long as you are using their app
[Q] I'm just wonder if I root my phone will I get the service for free. I have asked around to a lot of friends and they'll tell me different stories. some i will, some say I won't. Or they say I will but if I get caught they will take me off the service for good... So can somebody share some information with me on this subject or is you know if they even track it??? I'd really appreciate it thank you.

Okay I looked around a little bit, and found some article saying if I was running a stock t Mobile ROM they can track it but if I'm running a stock rooted rOM they probably wouldn't be able to track it. But I'm still not sure.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda premium
hey if you are not rooted then they can track you. But if you are rooted then you can use titanium backup to freeze tethering manager or tethering provisions ithink it is called in ics. Most custom roms have that disabled so you dont have to worry about it. But it also seems that since they came out with the new unlimited 4g that they figured out a way to do it even if you have that tethering manager frozen not sure how but they figured it out. Given some time someone here will figure out how to get around that too. they kick us in the balls we kick them back. Right now if the method above does not work because it seems to work for some people then they catch on or whatever also if you dont have unlimited 4g then it might work with no problem but if it doesnt the only way I have found around it is to use google chrome on your pc then go to the chrome store and get an app called user agent spoofer I think it is called and it allows you to change your user agent so you can use chrome but it will think you are using IE or firfox or iphone or android. So what you do is set it to android then you trick them into thinking that you are using your phones browser but you are really using it o nyour pc. Now unfortunatly this has some drawbacks like if you try to use netflix it will not let you or pandora it wants you to download the app but of corse you cant because it is a pc. so anything with flash really wont work. But if you are in a jam and need the web then it will work.

Hi guys I opened this thread up to share some of my top favorite rooted applications. Many experienced users will know what most of these are but some may be new, and of course this is a great place to begin for inexperienced root users. I'm not going to go into crazy detail about all of them but I'm hoping that others will post, comment, and share their findings as well. Take a look.
Avast! - advanced mobile security that gives you virus scan, theft protection, firewall, text/call block, and more!
Adfree- self explanatory. One of the best ad blockers for your browser in the market.
Airdroid- this is my personal favorite. Simply run the app, follow the quick instructions and BOOM you are managing all your own files from your phone both internal and external on your regular desktop computers or laptops. Its super easy to use and a must have.
Cachemate- clears cache with a click of a button.
My backup (root edition) - serves just like titanium backup. Easily backup your apks and data or just apks alone. Also includes photos/videos/music. Reason why I prefer this is because I used to use titanium mainly for freezing and backing up but ics/jb both have the "disable" option now.
Quickboot- quickly boot into recovery/reboot/power off
Root browser- arguably the best file explorer/manager out there. Pretty fast r/w speeds.
Root call blocker- not only can you manually enter the numbers you want blocked but this is one of the first apps I found where your phone won't even ring whatsoever.
SD booster- boost SD card speed. Don't know too much about it but was told from a friend to set the speed to 2048kb for optimization.
Terminal emulator- the "command prompt" of android.
Undelete- ever accidently delete a file and get really mad? Simply run this app and snatch it back!
Voodoo ota- copies your superuser binaries and allows you to keep root after an ota update (going to come in handy once the official jb comes through )
Hope you guys enjoy these apps. Obviously not responsible for anything that these do to your device. Please comment and also share your findings ! Thank you

I am using Grrenify and Seeder. From "hacktools" Faceniff and wi-fi kill.
greenify is great.
my recommendations are Android Firewall, Root Explorer, and Titanium Backup.
Android Firewall is great in that it blocks internet (WiFi/mobile data/both) to apps that you specify. this is great for blocking ads for those that want to play games that do not require a data connection.
As this thread is about root apps I thought I'd ask here rather then start a new thread.... has anyone found a screen recorder that actually works on the M? I've tried SRC and screencast with no luck...even a method that requires me to connect it to the PC would be great....

i have a strange problem with w.whenever my ram crosses 318mb/351 mb.all the sounds of my phone disappers.i cant play music, video,no locking and unlocking sounds.i have to restart the phone again.this happens atleast once every day.any thoughts on this?
OK....my best guess is it's the phones way of protecting it's "core" functions. The ram usage has reached a point where there is a danger of failure of its prime functions and it is attempting to divert ram from other non essential services. First thing you've got to do is find out what's eating your ram. There are apps available that can supply this information though I don't know what they're called as I've never had to use them (sorry) Are you using a lot of apps that run in the background to bring you notifications etc? If this is the case and you don't really need the app, delete it....simples.....
There is also a setting in CM9 that allows you to turn off background data if you need to keep the apps......give it a go and see....it might be all you need to do
From my Galaxy W on CM9 and CWM6 with Tapatalk 2
Other things to try.....
Keep the number of home screens to a minimum.....
Remove "Widgets" from your home screens....
Apps like Facebook, eBay, amazon, PayPal, hmv, game, email....basically any app that takes you to a website.....they ALL use ram and they will ALL restart if you close them......they can ALL be deleted and replaced by bookmarked web searches that can be pasted to your home screen....sure you won't get a notification if billy has commented on your status, or if you have an unread email, or if that item you're watching is ending soon, but if your phone works better as a result....who cares lol.......
If you want to take it further than that, root your phone (if you haven't already) and install Gemini app manager.....you can use it to prevent apps from auto running and using ram.......

yes stock rom
That'll be another reason then.....ur stock OS has all sorts of bloatware (social hub, music hub, games hub, maps.....) all of it using RAM.....another thing to watch for....3rd party launchers (go launcher + addons).....very RAM hungry....ROOT your phone and freeze the bloat.....you WILL notice a difference.....you don't even have to install a custom rom, though that WILL help too.....
