where is that setting at?

also check out the power saving mode, if you have it set to disable sync to save battery at a certain level then once it hits that level and disables it, even when you charge it, it wont enable it on its own.

Why does Pandora shut off every time my screen turns off

I am fully rooted running the latest Baked Snack beta and Pandora goes dead when the phone screen turns off. I assume it has something to do with the task management built into the Rom that I am using but have no idea how I would go about changing it

If you have an app killer instaled make sure you ignore pandora on it and it will continue to play...hope this helps...

Have no idea about this on Baked Snack. The only thing about task killing I see in in spare parts. I will fiddle around with things though, thanks for the input!
Make sure your data isn't set to turn off when the phone sleeps.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Also, check your Pandora settings (menu button) as I seem to remember a setting in there that may turn it off when the screen is off... (From memory, might be wrong)...
Go to your mobile network settings, and there check "enable always on mobile data"
Also, if you have any apps like juice defender, they can turn of data when the screen is off.

[Q] Whats happening?

I used to be able to leave my phone on standby overnight with 30% of battery with wifi on but whenever I do now it kills the battery and I mean kills it. Its dead to the point of me not being able to boot the phone on and have it shut down on me. I put my charger in and the LED flashes for a while and its only when it stays solid that the phone has enough charge for me to turn it on.
Is this a problem with the ROM or the firmware build its based on or am I missing a setting? WiFi is not on best performance mode and I have selected to turn off after 15mins inactivity?
It's likely to be due to the rom you are using. What rom is it?
It's not necessarily the wifi draining the battery.
The latest MIUI roms are terrible for battery drain relating to the mic not switching off. Post back and I will try and help.

Make sure you check under SETTINGS>>WIRELESS & NETWORKS>>WIRELES SETTINGS then press menu and then Advanced. Make sure the "Best Wifi Performance is unticked, and whilst your here may as well check the sleep timers.
If this doesn't work, then you may want to hunt down the app "Battery Historym for GB" which will allow you to see the battery history in GingerBread Sense based ROMS. this will allow you to look at what has been using the battery. What you are most interested here is the partial wake usage, or what has been stopping the phone from deep sleeping.
It might be the wifi or it might be an app you installed recently.
Make sure you do the usual, Check HTC Sync is not on, and other accounts which can get jammed in the sync process. I find google calendar can do that for me.
Also rememebr to check your radio is matched to your ROM and maybe get SetCPU (Search for it on here for the free for XDA subscribers version) and check your speed settings and governator. Im using Smoothass atm and it runs awesome for me.

Yeah I don't have anything but my Facebook/Twitter and Google accts setup to sync and thats even set to manual so as to avoid constant data drain. I know the HTC Sync and HTC Sense accounts draining battery and the fact that both Facebook and Twitter for HTC Sense along with Flickr cause the Calendar process to keep the phone awake.

Will have to double check on Lees thread but was under the impression the governor you mentioned runs on boot on Leedroid, I have setcpu installed but haven't given it root as I heard of setCPU causing issues with some Sense GB ROMS. I'll try everything else and look at that as a last resort.

Looked at using Spare Parts and the *#*#INFO#*#* but since GB it won't allow you to check the apps usage so gonna have to download that other app you suggested.

Brightness gets automatically set and cannot be changed when battery is low

Right now if the battery level is below certain point, the brightness setting and stand-by time setting get automatically set by the system, and cannot be changed.
I don't know what app or what part of the system is doing this for me automatically. I unchecked "power saving mode" and still.
This is very frustrating. I understand the phone may THINK it's helping me save battery but in fact the brightness I want and I usually set is even LOWER than the auto value the phone sets for me. And besides, I don't like the idea that MY phone is being controlled by someone/something else and I don't have an option to disable that something.
Someone please shed some light?
Edit:
Note that this is NOT the "power saving mode". I disabled "power saving mode" and still this problem.

I don't know the number right now. I'll keep an eye on phone as the battery drops and let you guys know the exact threshold that triggers this.
If it's some system app that's doing this, I have no problem freezing it using Titanium Backup just like how I freezed "Tethering Manager" to enable wifi hotspot and I freezed "My Account" so that 3G doesn't come on when wifi is connected.
Just don't know which app it is...
have you flash other roms to see if it go away? i think jug 2.0 take away this problem
And the even more ridiculous thing about it is that it auto sets the stand-by time to 30 seconds, and after I charge the battery to above the threshold it doesn't change the stand-by time back to where you set it! You have to change it back yourself.
Did you try a master reset and see if that fixed it?
No guys its like builtin in alot of roms with out apps... Its the system

For me there is a "power savings mode" right in the settings menu that does what you describe. Granted I'm not on stock ROM, but I think it was there with the Telus ROM too.

This isnt power saving mode causing this. Power saving mode is turned off and this still happens to me once my battery hits like 10%. This is built into the rom somewhere and the vibrant had the same thing. One of the devs for the vibrant was able to disable this setting in their rom so maybe the devs can do the same here. Again this is not power saving mode which can be set at certain levels that you would like.

Yeah once it reach 5%, the autobrightness become very bright and doesn't change..I have tested it on all ROM..and it's not the powersaving..I think it drain the battery really fast to help mentation the health of the battery..just guessing though..and stock ROM is more sensitive than jnault ROM..

You guys are right. It's not the power saving mode. This happens even when I turn OFF my power saving mode. It's something else in the system that's doing this, and yes, the auto brightness the system sets is even brighter than what I previously set myself. So, what a useful feature!
mine does the right thing, opposite of what your phones are doing. im guessing at about 5% battery life, the display sets itself pretty close to the lowest (if not the lowest) brightness setting, even with my power saving mode option unchecked. i wonder if the auto adjust screen power has something to do with it, since i got that checked all the time. but maybe not. im running on beastmod 1.0 rom.

Automatically disable data during the night on cm10?

Hi,
As I am losing 20% overnight (which means no alarm clock in the morning) I need something to save my battery.
Maybe it is possible?
I would like an app which turns off:
- wifi
- Data
- Changes to 2g
Maybe something else?
Thanks!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Just manually turn off data before you go to bed?
Or plug the phone in...
Or... buy an alarm clock? There's an idea .
I believe CM10 has this setting under "Night Mode". Try searching in your settings for that. I would give you a more specific answer, but right now I'm not running CM10, but a lot of other roms have this option. It allows you to set the times and apply certain data and toggle settings. Then again, I could be completely off and CM10 might not have this.
I know Airplane mode would disable all carrier connections, but that still leaves WiFi. For that, could you not simply disable WiFi itself?
Go into profile and edit the night profile and you'll be set

Do i need to go to settings each tim? No shortcut?

You can look into using an app called Tasker. It has a vast array of useful tasks that can be automated.
There's an app called LLAMA, which should work.

Llama is totally great!!!
Not sure if it is a best solution and what are the alternatives. But I love Llama now.
I confgured 4 events (home, home night, work, outside work or home) and testing them.
Switching between events is a bit laggy but seems to work.

Even with data etc on, the phone certainly shouldn't eat that much battery over night. Find what's the true cause (poor app) instead.

personally i use an app called Green Power that you can set times and modes for that disables data when the screens been off long enough and a number of other useful features to help with battery life.

Battery drain on standby

Yeah I've been seeing some serious battery drain. Way more than I'd expect with the battery size. Not sure what's going on.
Turning on your Wifi will kill your battery. I've had to restart my phone to make it stop sometimes. Makes me wonder if this is why the nexus skipped 5.0.2.
That may very well be the reason why nexus skipped it. Juding by the previous samsung record, it will be a while till we get 5.1

This is what i hate so much... you pay ridiculous amount of money to buy a "Smartphone" but then you have to turn all these features of to make it work efficiently.
I'm sure it's just a software bug on T-Mobile, but I was able to fix my issue by turning off WiFi, completely charging the phone, and restarting. WiFi is what causes it, not sure why though.

Gotcha. I was curious but also sort of pointing out that even with Wifi turned off, the phone will still use Wifi for location unless you specifically disable that option. It may or may not make any difference at all, but since there's a bug then it's possible that ANY use of wifi is draining more than it should (even if it's just intermittently every few minutes for location checking).

If the WiFi being used during sleep is causing any issues, the issue is small enough that it is not showing up on my battery usage page.

Well for example. I have had Wifi turned off since before unplugging my phone this morning (8 hours ago). Despite that, it has been used for 29 minutes because I didn't have that option (use wifi for location even when it's off) disabled.
Because of this, I'm disabling that location feature as well for now. I bet that's about 30 minutes my phone has been held "awake" due to this stupid bug!
