Trillian - Windows Phone 7 General

For those of you interested in IM apps, I suggest you find a few moments to place a post in that thread. I've been a Trillian user for a while, and it's a great app. I've lost the need for AIM, Yahoo, etc because all of my friends are on FB/WLM, but I know I'm in the minority, and many of you wanted a better alternative to IM+

The BEST NON SMS messenger service

Ok so i have tried a few IM services, and i want to know what you folks think is the best one you have used.
I have tried Verichat back in the day but cannot seem to find it anymore
I just had Palringo and HATE it because i am getting spam IMs
I had agile messenger too and it seems to be the best out there.
Hopefully someone has a better suggestion. PLease make sure is does not use your SMS cause i would just use windows messenger but i do not have an unlimited text plan.
Thanks
I guess no one has a messenger service they like

Do you mean unlimited data plan? Messenger does not use SMS, and I use that and it's flawless.
Nimbuzz. So far, the only one that can tap into Facebook chat, along with bunch of other chat-services, such as Messenger, ICQ, AIM etc.
My favourite IM is "BeejiveIM" the icq function is better then all the other icq IM clients.
Try 'BeejiveIM', the graphics are really amazing but it is for QVGA (still work on WVGA although)
I used to use Nimbuzz and quite liked it, but I've moved to Fring which gives you access to Twitter (which is excellent) and apparently Facebook chat (though I haven't tested this). Free of course.
My favorite you already said you don't like....Palringo
I never get spam ads from it...
BeeJive I had on my TyTn II but cannot get it to work on my HD, Ill try Fring again but i think there was something about it I didnt like, and have not tried Nimbuzz, thanks.

Anyone Have a yahoo messenger app?

yahoo directs me to their web based app and i cant find anything else. apparently yahoo is only worried about the iphone and crackberry.
thanks
Are you able to handle GOOGLE?
Here is exactly what you want: http://yahoo-messenger.en.softonic.com/pocketpc
use messenger softwares such as parlingo or Fring. It has all the required messenger services you would require and most of all the softwares are free..

I recommend you go to nimbuzz.com and download their free app. That is the best app I found, after tons of searching. It has practically every popular IM know built in, and also has skype for internet calling. It has a nice interface too since it's fairly new. I think..... You won't be disappointed.
I think also that nimbuzz.com is definitely best solution, works great and supports all popular IMs...
i recommend SLICK or BEEJIVE , they're awesome

I think Palringo is good solution. YM,FB,Google etc... and good looking too
i use fring.

[Q] MSN Instant Messaging?

I had MSN/AIM/Yahoo Instant Messaging on my Samsung Epix, anyone know how to get this on the TouchPro2/Tilt2?
I read it's on "Window's Live" ...tried it on the phone...w/it being pre-installed...but still couldn't access instant messaging, only synced e-mail.
I was having this issue as well. I think the one that comes preloaded with the phone is only hotmail. You can go to the Marketplace and download the Windows Live from there which has the messenger, email, etc.
Certain roms come with the downloadable version as well if you ever decide to flash
I'll have to grab it Market Place.
Thank you!
You have to install Market Place, right?
I went to it on the phone, and it asks if I want to install it...just double checking.
Np and yeah the marketplace has to be installed before you can use it
Thanks
Found it here too: http://www.windowsliveformobile.com/en-us/messenger/default.aspx#
Palringo (burned into the Energy ROM) works really well on the TP2. I don't use MSN personally, but its included. I use Palringo with Google Chat, and it works great.

Cool! Found it! It has AIM and Yahoo Messenger too, if anyone was interested.
It wouldn't let me upload the file, so here's the link: http://www.palringo.com/en/gb/
Added the Windows Live CAB that has Messenger. On the Today Screen you can have Bing, Hotmail, and Messenger. If you don't want the Hotmail you just uncheck the "sync E-mail" box.

[Q] twitter client

I want to buy a substitute for the basic android twitter client. Which of these twitter clients do you recommend, and why?
Twicca.
I'm surprised you didn't include this in the poll as it's considered one of the best twitter clients out there (according to many users - also free).
At least you can give it a try before spending money on a commercial app and if you like it, you can still donate to the developer.
Good luck in your search!
Tweetdeck Beta
http://www.tweetdeck.com/go/android
Twicca
It doesnt support multiple accounts, other than that the best available twitter client for android.
I love the picture preview and the clean streamlinrd UI.
Tweetdeck
Tweetdeck, its only in beta for android and you have to get it form their site, but its very good.
seesmic is da best
In the first place, what are you looking for that the free clients cannot provide? It is not possible for us to recommend anything without knowing your requirements.
If you're still looking for a twitter client. I always looked for a HTC Peep-styled app widget.
I just found "Touiteur", its from the developers of "Beautiful Widgets".
I love it because the UI looks nice and userfriendly and FINALLY an app with a 4*4 scrollable widget (for almost all known launchers that support scrollable widgets...except, of course, Touchwiz)
just wanted to share that, i know that the last post is 3 months old. havent found a good client in another thread.
Twidroyd is quite good
I tested Twitdroyd as well, i couldnt get used to any twitter client. But twitdroyd seems to be very popular.
Im just glad, that i found touiteur^-^
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I use TweetDeck and Twicca ,cause they re the best

[Q] Best Live Messenger app for Nexus?

I came from the BBM world and our company has decided to use Live Messenger as a quick solution to chat between each other (I am the only non-BB user).
What is the best app for Live Messenger for Android/Nexus? There are so many to choose from, I dont need any special features other then for it to work reliably.
I would say WhatsApp
EDIT: I should have read the full post from the OP before responding haha
nvm..... .

Trillian, hands down, from my experience.
That said, coming from BBM I'd suggest using Kik as a replacement rather than Live Messenger.
people are going to have their favorites. I'm using kik and kakao.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortuantly the company is not happy that I have abandoned Blackberry. I was actually waiting to move to WP7, but it was taking forever to get the Second gen phones to Canada, so I gave up after 4 months and decided on the Android Platform for various reasons.
This being said, the company is not interested in moving to a new platform and they would prefer to use WIndows LIVE (mostly because they dont know any different, all of us dont actually use any IM programs anymore). Also there are some people who are not very happy with me not being on BBM, so I am not really in a position to push for a different product people are not comfortable with.
So I am looking for a trouble free solution for me so i dont make any further ripples Personally I havet used MSN Messenger since back in College 10 years ago, so I am out of the loop with this stuff. I would rather go with something like Google+ or some social networking platform, but I am not really in a position to make the change right now.
I will give Trillian a try, however if anyone has any other suggestions, keep them coming!
Windows Live is awful. Try to get them to switch to GChat instead.
