ok did all the steps ... half day battery is in the red ... any other ideas? Or should I go back stock?

What kind of stuff do you have installed? Anything that might keep the phone awake or use a lot of data? Have your usage patterns of the phone changed since you rooted it (i.e., are you doing things with it that you didn't used to, like tethering or such).

Build Number: Myn's Warm twopointtwo
Software Number: 3.30.651.2
The battery performance was decent till yesterday.
I flashed kernel netarchy-toastmod-4.1.9.1 and reset battery stats using clockworkmod.
I was on Fresh EVO when I updated Kernel. I noticed the battery dying rapidly.
Later, I flashed Warm 2.2 to see if it makes a difference. My battery drops 1% every minute. I have no WIFI/GPS/4G on. The screen brightness is at 10%. No other widgets running.
I am planning to flash Stock HTC Froyo Kernel - 3.26 base to see if it makes a difference.
Ideas and suggestions are welcome.
have you checked the awake time vs. up time?
it could be an app that is causing this drainage.
I see
Android System - 94%
Cell Stand by - 4%
Phone Idle - 2%
I havent made any calls yet.
Btw, my HW version is 004.
I am planning to flash CM 6.0/1 in the next hour or so..

I agree that it sounds like a runaway app... but the 1% per minute seems harsh. The fastest I've been able to deplete my battery was something like 4 hours.
Reflash a new ROM and install 1 app then wait an hour install next app and wait an hour, etc etc.
I would also install an OS monitoring app to see what your CPU is doing during this time.
Some people had trouble with it. Try either NO-HAVS version or any 4.2.1. See my post here for recalibrating your battery correctly and some other ways to make your battery last longer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9371294&postcount=10579
When you wipe your battery stats, the phone treats the battery as its full. I had a similar problem when I wiped stats and the battery wasn't completely topped off.
Follow the battery charging instructions to get the battery to 100%.
Reboot then wipe stats.
From your System being so high above the cell standby, I'd say there is a runaway app or a kernel problem from an incomplete wipe. I would suggest going back into recovery and wiping your cache and dalvik cache first to see if that helps.

Uptime is how long your phone has been on for since you turned it on. Awake time is how long either you've been actually using the phone or how long a phone has been keeping the phone awake (meaning the CPU working at full speed). If your awake time is more than the time you've actually been using the phone, something has your phone in a wakelock, preventing it from sleeping.

I did clear cache and dalvik cache using ClockWork's recovery.
I dont get a confirmation when I clear dalvik cache. I was planning on switching to RA's recovery. I haven't found an easy way to do it.

Stock kernels never have HAVS and they also have perflocks that prevent them phone from being overclocked or underclocked. You can disable the perflock by going into SetCPU, hitting menu, and using Perflock-Disabler.

Merci! I have already follow-up this way. I'll try again.
I don't have CM7 I have MS2Ginger 2.1 but I have the same problem. My battery drops 2 times: from 54--> 49 and from 25-->19...I had the same problem when I was using MIUIs and cm7 ROMs.
I think that the battery is just dead in those areas :-(
What does it mean "the battery is just dead in those areas" because when I use this rom (umts_jordan_emara-user 2.3.6 4.5.1-134_DFP-139 1318560162 release-keysEPU93_U_00.60.00) no problem.
Hmmm...Well Im goin to try this ROM too then.
I thought my battery cells were dead (smthn similar was on my notebook and when I replaced battery, everything was just fine) but if u say that everything is fine then I will try out that one.
Tnx.

No. I have my defy+ since November so the battery is new. I have only try ms2 ginger2.1 with the same problem. Only with motorola oem rom no problem like this.
I have erased files in /data/battd/ and wipe stats battery (i don't now if is the same things). I will come back after this test.
Try recalibrating with the method in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11803458
I've used this many times without issues and it always helps with my battery life. With the Defy you have to follow the method that requires reinserting the battery before the lockscreen pulls up.
So after doing steps 1-5 then 6 then do we have to do step 7?
I didn understand you when is the right time to put back battery? Like in 8b?
After this crazy method, u don't have battery drops?
Skip step 7 and continue following from 8b. Hold your phone in your hand while it's booting without the battery and you should feel the haptic feedback (minor vibration) before the phone finishes booting to the lock screen. As soon as you feel the haptic feedback put the battery back in. Leave on the charger until it reaches 100% and then another 20 minutes after that.

can i use "battery callibration" for step 2 :
"2. Delete /data/system/batterystats.bin" ?
Ok. i confirm this steps works for defy+. Before unplug i have 4198mv and after 4164mv. Now, wait and see.
I have Defy with red lens and installed 2.3.6_4.5.2-109 DHT25_themed MultiLanguage ROM yesterday and fully charge it to 100% and one hour over that...Battery was on 4164mV...When unplugged it 99% and 4164mV.
But then i had like this:
54% - 3769mV
50% - 3757mV
49% - 3773mV
48% - 3760mV
...
...
27% - 3686mV
20% - 3692mV
19% - 3670mV
18% - 3679mV
Funny thing is that when gaps happened lower % has more mV than upper % ...
I will try this "new weird" method of calibration tomorrow when I fully charge my phone again tonight. Really hope this will fix my battery.
my defy on Cm 7.1 stable and i get 4160mV on 100% charged and still plugged in to electricity.
but after i unplug the charger, it downs to 99% - 4125mV..
i think i'll try that 'hard' calibration method

No.
i have a noob question for all: is it possible that the last 20% charge (80 -100) with a 1650 defy battery and rom not based on stock rom, be 'virtual', because i have 20% lost (69%-49%)? (sorry for my english)
Now i decide to put a new Battd file from the stock rom and i try again this hard calibration: charg at 100%. after step 8 i see 5% and 4317mv.
(100% full for defy+ battery is approximately 4320mV)

[Q] Battery drain on CM7.2

Hi all,
I am using CM7.2(FXP106) on my Xperia arc, with the kernel that comes with it. But I find out that battery drain is much more worse than the stock. 42 ROM. I usually charge the phone to 100% before I sleep, and the phone only uses 3% during my sleep with stock ROM. (stock kernel, cpu is downclocked to 768MHz when screen is off, using conservative governor.) However with CM7.2 my phone consumes more than 10% during my sleep. I also downclock the cpu to 768MHz when screen is off the cpu governor is smartassv2. In battery usage, mobile standby and phone idle consume the most. lol (It used to be display with stock rom) Is there any possible workaround? thanks a lot.
Ivan
ok, i try to give you a view points to check:
read and install this on your phone. I had also a battery-drainer on my phone. i found it and now i´m happy
One time, on my x10miniPro the facebook app drain my battery.
Have you clear dalvik-cache before you install the rom? full wipe?
I installed many custom-roms at my x10 miniPro. Sometimes i have also fast battery drain. Then i made a second time a full wipe, clear dalvik cache and install the rom new. This fixed most of the problems.
try this and report
I had the same issue, but they closed the Issue at the project-page:
http://code.google.com/p/freexperia...tatus Priority Milestone Owner Summary&id=155
for this reason i changed to Arconium, and.... 1% during a whole night in flight mode, with FXP it was about 10%!
i really miss the additional settings from CM7 but as long as this Problem exists , even if they say its normal, i wont switch back.
I had exactly the same problem whith CM7.2 FXP107
It was "Cell standby" (I'm not sure it's how it's called in english) that was anormally draining battery. It may be linked to baseband (I was using 64 one).
I had wiped everything possible before, flashed with CM7.2 kernel.
So I swiched to Arconium 7 + DoomKernel 0.18 + baseband 36 with patches. No problem since.
I don't know where the problem came from, it didn't took time to investigate, it was to much of a drain to keep my phone like this.

There is no excssive battery drain on CM7.

5. Take the battery off
6. Insert the charger chord
7. Put the battery back and wait for the phone to boot
8. Once the phone boots up, you will notice that the battery percentage is around 88% instead of 100%
9. Charge the phone back to 100%

You can use Toggle 2G with CM ROMs, pretty good in saving battery, you can set data to switch to 2G after certain minutes after the screen is off.

Massive battery drain

Recently I had a big problem with my Google Play Store and couldn't download anything or play videos in the youtube app.In desperation to find a fix I relashed my ROM with Odin, did a factory reset before clearing the dalvik cache which seemed to fix it.Because of this I had to re-root and uninstall lots of bloat and set up the V6 script. My phone is running almost perfect now except since that ordeal my battery life isnt what it used to be.It drains terribly even on moderate use. Before all the problems,I had de-bloated and was easily getting over 24hrs on light-moderate usage. Now I'm lucky to get 14hrs and can drain the whole thing in under 5hrs on heavy usage.I check the battery usage stats and the closest thing to the display is Android system.Could it be the ROM posted on this forum is more juice hungry than what I had before, even though its the exact same FW(2.3.6 XEU XXLA2)?Its the only reason I can think of since everything else is in order.Any ideas guys?

Hi got this tip from the galaxy ace forum "barebone ics sunday". If it helps you can try it; I've tried it and somehow managed to get a bit more juice. On moderate - heavy usage (talktime > 1.5hrs, > 25sms, email polling every 3 hours, 15mins playing PES + vid clip 5-10mins, + some calculator work) I was able to get my phone to stay alive for 15-16hrs..maybe 'cos got rid some bloatware may have somehow extended standby time..just give it a shot..it may help a bit..

Yes I've tried it on my Galaxy Ace and applied the same set of procedures on my W.
Yes, positive feedback I'd say, although the difference is very subtle/small.
Maybe others can give it a try and report if they feel the difference.
On the ACE it was remarkable maybe because the ROM was stripped down to the bare-bone i.e. No calculator, No Calendar, No Gallery, etc.

Hi all I have phone with battery problem. I tried to turn S-ON or turn off, tried to rewrite soft also I bought new battery and when I put battery to my phone it shows 30% but when i put same battery to my friend wildfire it shows 100%. Also when I leave my phone to charge threw the night( about 8-9 hours) it charge to 71% and stopped, it is not showing more then 71% also it drains very fast but when it shows that is 3% left it last longer than other time from 71% to 3%. So what should i do ?

it dosen't charge up to 100% to use this method

Yes, I meant that.
Does it show 71% in your phone settings, too?

1. Sorry, haven't thought about that. Yes, it has to be rooted.
2. If your phone is rooted you can find it with root explorer.
3. Yes, for rooting your phone needs to be S-OFF
Maybe you can use that one - found it in another topic:
1. Power on your phone then connect to your Charger and Fully charge until the LED changes Green.
2. Disconnect your phone from the charger and then power off.
3. Reconnect your phone to your charger with the power off and wait for the green LED.
4. Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.
5. Once the phone has fully booted / ready to use ... power off again.
6. With the power off connect the phone to the charger and wait for the green LED.
7. Disconnect from the Charger then power on and use normally.
Needs no root, but I haven't tried that yet. Most of the users said that it worked, but keep in mind that battery calibration can always damage your battery.
My battery never charge up to 100% last time i saw green light from fulfully charged phone was last year. I can charge it for 48 hours turned of it still wont be green
Which status is shown in phone->status->battery status?
