DIFFERENCE : Runnymede and RunnymedeMod007 ???

With Runnymede, you have the RCMix3d Tweaks cooked in where you can further alter Clock, Battery Signal, Rosie, Notification, Display, Lockscreen style as well as some others. I also found this more smooth and quicker than RunnymedeMod007 but that is just my view. Best to try both to see which you prefer.

Let me do this politely, you should have read the rules and noticed that you are not a developer, nor are you releasing a ROM thus you should have posted in the Q & A section.
I'm done, let the flaming commence lmao

NOOB READ THE RULES,..... and use the **** search button, its called DEVELOPMENt and not QUESTION

To be fair, OvationAcoustic has been a member since 2008 so should have known the rules by now but I have been polite and answered the best I can.
Wonder how long before a moderator moves this into the correct Q&A section

p.s. I vote for finding some new aggressive mods to clean up the sub forums... alot of repeated questions keep popping up all over the place =(
WE have a Q&A thread for a reason...eg barebones rom is not development, its Q&A, 1080p playback is general until it stops being just speculation.
And hell I love NOLED but it's an app.

What do you understand by "Development"?
If NOLED (application developed exclusivelly for our SGS) is not supposed to be here, then what? Are the ROMs discussions and MODs better candidates?
Should we change the name from "Galaxy S development" to "Galaxy S Technical discussions"?
in my opinion the worst spam topics are the many "bricked my SGS please help immediately"

Developer forum should be for apps, roms, firmwares, etc.
This could relate to this other thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=764084
If we can clean the forum and keep it clean (with good active moderators) it should be easy even to merge galaxy s forums and have all interesting information in the right place

Yeah, I think topics need to be clarified. Q&A should be "Questions and Troubleshooting"
And development needs to clarify exactly what is covered, otherwise, technically testing new leaked roms might be considered development..

[IMPROVEMENT LIST] RCMix 3D Kingdom rom.

Hi guys,
Since users who haven't posted 10 messages yet can't reply in a development thread and I couldn't find a decent topic in which my statements would've been answered, I would like to propose this topic to be used where people could sum up their wishes for the RCMix3D rom.

#1 - Scaling glitch
In version 0.1, there was a scaling glitch. If you pinched the desktop screen, the seven homescreens would zoom out, but when you zoomed back in the homescreen had a glitch: the screen would stretch from the top-left corner. This issue got fixed in version 0.2. In version 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2, this glitch has made its return, I would love to see it fixed, permanently this time please.
#2 - Lock screen font
When you unlock your phone, the font on the Weather unlock screen is stretched. It's blurry, and it doesn't have any margin on its left side... So if the devs could resize/move this, it would be appreciated.
#3 - Widgets
First of all, the calendar widget still hasn't been fixed since version 0.1. Yes, I have read the thread of the ROM over at the Development page multiple times and forgive me if I haven't seen your fix, but it's a mess. If I look at the overall result, it doesn't seem like a widget issue, but more of a resolution issue, I know the device from which this ROM was ported had a much larger resolution and probably causes this, but it would be nice if this could be fixed too?
---
To finish this first post, I would like to bring out a big thank you to the developers who made it possible to get this ROM up and running on the Desire HD, keep up the good work guys!
Congrats on your first post
Quite a good list of observations there. I would suggest you try the below and see ..... so far its seems quite good for a first release

You couldn't find a decent topic, did you even try to search? It's even mentioned in the OP of RCMix3D thread. Don't spam this forum...

[Q] Should each 'Cook/ROM' have its own section

I think each ROM should have its own section not just a thread. I find searching through 1000+ posts for one bit of info very hard work, and I bet others do as well. Search is good but unless you know the exact wording its not always the best option.
With each ROM having its own section each question will be in its own thread, making finding the answers to repeated questions much easier.
What say the masses ?
Thanks
interesting idea...but think not possible or..?
You know requesting new sections every day would be pain in the arse for moderators?
It's good as it is now.
When you have one sub-forum for each rom then you have a loooooooong list ... and thats not better then so
Questions shouldnt be in dev section - so there are only dev threads -> done
Question about an spezific rom can be posted in the rom thread.
I think this can be achieved through "Related Threads" (With some modification). So that once u open a thread from one developer all this threads in the same section apear at the bottom.
Just a wild idea
Maybe the mods can make the most useful/best roms sticky...
agree! very hard and sometimes slow to search through 10,000 posts .. it 's often a nightmare to follow the thread

even with search button.. e.g. you search for an issue on battery.. you see someone who asked the question... then i must scroll down(or move next page) to search if someone actually replied and gave a solution to the issue (assuming a there's a reply or solution to the question)... in between you have tons of other unrelated questions/replies/opinions/thanks etc... lol i think you know what i mean

The masses say no. We like asking the same questions all over again, or even better opening the new threads for every query we have.
Your idea is good but what you propose can't be done. It can't be avoided as it would be a forum utopia sort off. Google is more powerful than forum search. Good info doesn't necessarily have to come from XDA.
And for starters this thread is in totally wrong section.
How about a section for roms with sense and a section for roms without sense? or maybe section for ports from other devices and a section for "almost" stock roms. Mabye 2 - 4 subcategories would be a good idea. Another good idea would be that the cooks would use a specific format for the thread names like "Update/Date - Rom name - Version - Cook".
just my two cents in some bad english ^^

[Request] Torch Small App

I'd love if someone developed a smallapp that turns on the flash led. I think it would be really useful and easy to make.
Man, I wish I was able to code for android, but I'm too lazy to learn :crying:
Why don't you search on PlayStore?

I guess that your love for the app has blinded you
You posted a question in the general section and not the Q&A like the XDA rules say you should.
And yes, asking someone to do or make something is a question.
I also agree that a fast search of the play store will turn up several torch apps. The rules also say to search your question before posting.
These are the XDA forum rules that you violated.
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.
15. Keep posts/threads on-topic
Whilst a minor amount of off-topic posting may be overlooked, the general rule is your posts / threads must be relevant to the Forum / thread in which you are posting.
General Forums - For news and announcements relating to your device.
Q&A Forums - For all question threads / posts. If there is no Q&A forum use the device General Forum
For the full set of the XDA rules please bookmark the link in my signature called "READ THE XDA RULES"
Thank you for understanding reported for mod moving
Uhh...
I wasn't asking for a "small torch app", but for someone to make a SmallApp that enables the torch. You know, sometimes it's useful to turn on the torch without having to leave the app you're in, and that's the point of Small Apps. That would really be useful, I think.
Of course I know there are over 9000 torch apps in the market (I'm not that disconnected from reality yet), but I was asking for someone to make a torch SmallApp, because there isn't one yet.
And I thought requests went in General because I saw a couple of [request] threads in there, but if I was wrong, I apologize.
Technicaly a request is a question and should be in Q&A. Its up to the mods to move it if needed.
Sorry I miss read the post.
You might want to find a small apps mod thread in the themes & apps and ask there.
You should get a better response there from small app users.
Good luck

The Best ROM

Telling a mod about this!!!!!
Ok, I am not a ROM expert. I have created this thread for discussion, arguments, polls etc. about ROMs. Hope this becomes a sticky.
Here only Stable ROMs will be posted. I would like the devs of their ROMs give info about their ROMs in this way:
1. Name:
2. Type: (performance, customizable, etc.) Describe the ROM in only one word.
3. All other info
4. One Screen shot
I will quote your message on the top.
Thanks to all the people in this thread.
I'll keep updating this, so let's rock!
Please don't post this kind of threads in the development section. If you want you can post it in the General Section. Request a moderator to move the thread to the General Section. Please post threads in the correct section according to the content of the OP.
@Lady Android Can you just delete this thread? Pls.
this is against the rules

Said this once and i'll say it again:
There really isn't any point creating these 'best rom/kernel' threads. You're basically asking 'what's your favourite rom/kernel' You're asking for opinions, they vary from person to person.
Have a look in Android development sections (don't post!) and check the changelogs and see which offers the features you desire and make your mind up there search is your friend.
Can all members refrain from creating these sort of threads, thank you.
Thanks
