Music.apk mod

I had the mod before. Somehow I lost it on my big a$$ sdcard lol. I've searched for the thread that has it but my exhausted search came up empty. Can someone post the URL to the topic? I'd appreciate it to the 10th power!

Honestly idk the name. It was definitely for AOSP tho. It was very sexy. Ran it on CM7 EX before. Oh and it was flashable too btw

Was it MIUI, or the Honeycomb music, or the native gingerbread music? Could've been any of them really. Need more info...then I could probably upload it for ya.

It was the HCmusic.apk! As soon as I read "hon " in your post I realized lol.... do you have a link with a stable version of it? It was too sweet!

I believe this is the HC music app. I don't recall if it installs, or if you need to drop it in your /system/app folder. I want to say, if memory serves me correctly, that it just installed like a normal app. Put it on your sd card, use Astro to navigate to it, click on it, and see if it'll install.

HAHA glad we could help

Got another dilemma ... the hc music app keeps force closing after flashing the update zip file. Do any of y'all have a fix on this? I installed the apk first. Then flashed the hcmusicupdate.zip and it now FC upon opening.

Use the program Root Explorer and go to system/app press the Mount R/W button on the top right. Then scroll down to the stick music apk (the one with the headphones) long press it, then hit delete. The HC music player will become your default player. You may have to reboot to apply the changes. Note that every time you flash a new CM rom, including nightlies, you'll have to delete the stock music app as it gets restored each time.

do a search man... you've made it almost all the way.... first step was getting the phone, then hearing about rooting, then finding xda~..... ..next you get root..and change icons!!!..
good luck.... there's alot to learn~

FolderOrganizer is good for changing icons. You can always get ADW Launcher too.

Not trying to be mean, but look around. Your in the right place. There's an infinite number of threads with mods and instructions.

While the (above) info is helping point you in the right direction (you're in the correct forum)....first off, is your phone rooted? For you to properly "theme" your phone you have to be rooted.
Look at this is you are not rooted. There are different ways to go about it. Read each very carefully.
Many custom roms come with the changes you want built in.

Or you can learn adb commands and pull the framework-res.apk file off the phone and just change them and then push it back. Its that simple

Its not hard. You install the hboot drivers from unrevoked, install then uninstall htc sync, enable usb debugging on your phone, run unrevoked. Take like 6 minutes.

I was afraid too, young padawan. Let go of ythe fear and follow a tutorial and you'll be good brah

Its like saying "remind me"....If you tell GN "Please tell me" anything it will set an alarm...just like "remind me".

Okay I have read instructions for our devices and I'm kind of confused. Do we need to just download the. Apk file or the zip or both? Do we flash the zip in recovery and that's it? I read the instructions and I'm sorry if I'm a little slow but it just wasn't all that clear to me.

I used the M6 file from this post on that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29756226&postcount=2856 It's working great so far. The only issue I've found is that you can't exit using the back button. You need to press the home button to exit.
Also, even though the instructions say its for CWM, it's not. You can flash it using any recovery.
Download the M6 file, copy it to your SD card, reboot into recovery and flash it, then reboot and poof you're done.

Just flash the new version.

Just flashed on FreeGSM R5, works flawless.

Okay how do I remove this if I don't like it? It's pretty cool but seems so finicky to me.

Turned my double press home button to voice dial and not a voice anymore, I didn't like it. Flashed my TWRP back up and I'm normal again. Good luck!

At first: experimenting with swap, system settings and further can cause immense damage to your phone and/or sd-card. I am just trying to help and I am not a pro. Read as much about the topic as you can find, and wait for someone more experienced to answear!
I don't know what you exactly want to do, but if you want to use a swap file, I think you must have a swap partition (don't know if it works without it)on your sd-card (that will decrease the sd's lifetime!!!). If you ensured this, you can search your Roms settings for some features about swapping. If you found nothing, you can try an App like Swapper2 or ram manager. But I don't know the exact steps for the apps!

If you have that script already, it could be run with "script manager - smanager" (sorry, couldn't post links to market). You start the app, search for the script and choose "run" (i think you have to set button "run as root"). The Script Manager starts the script and you have to follow the on screen hints.
Again, ATTENTION on what you're doing!

By googling for "swap file script" the first link shows you how to enable swap within in the well-known Cyanogenmod with a script. You could have a close look on this or serach for something similiar working with your Rom (the script in this Link seems to enable some more terminal commands, maybe thats what you looking for). Or you can try to adept it on your own (Nandroid Backup!).

4.4 Kit Kat GOOGLEHOME

I take no credit for this, Just found threads in other furums and wanted to put them in ours forums.
Here is a thread for GoogleHome with the search bar fixed, kept FC for people. flash the (New)googlehomev2 then after you boot up install the PrebuilGmsCore.apk file.

Here is a installer i put together with the Gapps, just flash and pick the ones you want, before you reboot you need to fix permissions. (aroma is a little touchy sorry, just hit the options to proceed a couple times then it will go)

Please read all these instructions before proceeding, failing to do so will most likely result in stupid questions, in which case I'll have to make fun of you.
1. Every app can be installed, i.e. you don't have to copy them to /system/app.
2. In order for Google Now/Google Seach to work properly you MUST copy libgoogle_recognizer_jni_l.so to /system/lib, replacing the original when asked.
3. In order for the Camera to work properly (namely the photosphere) you must copy libjni_filtershow_filters.so, libjni_mosaic.so and liblightcycle.so to /system/lib.
4. Some of the apps depend on Google Services 4 in order to work. Because of this I highly suggest that you install PrebuiltGmsCore.apk before installing any of the other apps.
5. You may not be able to install Maps.apk until you uninstall the one already present in your device.
6. Anything that requires adding/replace lib files requires that you be rooted. No way around it.
7. Before replacing/uninstalling anything that's already installed on your device, I suggest you perform a backup of the original in case anything should go wrong. You've been warned!

Edit: Worked for me, try redownloading it and see if it works, just have to fix permissions afterward

So ive been looking into these, does this aroma also add what ever libs that each new apk requires? Or do you also have to copy paste those yourself?

These are just the apks, doesn't have lib files, the lib files in the links are for the camera only. The apks I don't think need them or they are built in the app itself

Yup. Followed a few of the instructions in the linked thread and everything I did worked. I didn't really care for the format so I reverted back to Nova but yeah, it worked for me.

This is really cool - love what GOOGLE NOW has become and despite a few things I would like differently, the GOOGLE HOME launcher is pretty cool.
I noticed that I have had to re-install the GOOGLE Core apk thing (whatever that is called) each time I reboot - which is kind of a pain - do you know if someone has come up with a fix that would let you install everyhting once and then you would be done with it?

I installed yesterday from a completely different perspective. Downloaded 3 separate files, home, velvet, and prebuiltcore. Click installed velvet, copied home.apk to system/app then rebooted phone. Ran fix for Google search found on phandroid. For some reason, my phone has no use for the prebuiltgmscore.apk. previous attempts renaming to gmscore and copy pasting into system/app failed for me. Weird, but I am not complaining as it work flawlessly.
