Hello all
One of my friends have HTC Desire
He installs different ROMs on his smart phone.
Yesterday he downloaded RunnyMede v4 and tried to install it
but in alpha recovery when it asks for a custom zip file he chose the wrong zip file , and during the installation of the wrong ROM he took out the battery in order to cancel the installation (I know taking the battery out during installation is the the most stupidest thing ! but I wasn't near him to prevent him!)
so then he put the battery back , but the phone never works like before ! It always sticks at the s-off screen here is image

now , it doesn't matter which ROM I install , I tried several ROMs (including the backup of the official ROM) but all of them Sticks at that damn screen !
waited for almost 1 hour but that screen never disappeared , but the phone itself restarted several times ,! but again it stuck to that screen again!
you know its like a loop , when I turn the phone on it show that screen and after some minutes it restarts automatically and again it sticks to that screen !
Please , if anyone knows a solution , tell me
I appreciate all the suggestions and answers
Waiting for suggestions
thanks all
Did you Wipe everything before installing a new ROM?
Do you mean "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition" ?
if yes

enter bootloader and try to downgrade ur phone to 1.32
follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
Your problem was doing a factory reset. That erased necessary files for your custom rom to boot. This is simple. Pull the battery. Reinsert battery and boot into hboot (pwer +volume down). Select recovery. Then from there flash a new rom, backup etc.
Hi,
I was trying older and latest FXP 136, flashed kernel from zip, then put zip on SD card, then use Recovery to flash it, but on recovery ive got always same problem - the screen looks fine, then i press vol - to move line down and screen is getting splitted and moved on the screen, when i press vol- again its back ok, then again vol- splitting screen again, and it repeats...
Ive made a photo with screen splitted. Maybe can you tell me whats the reason? CM9 works pretty fine, but from first release of CM10 till now, i've got this problem on my MK16i...
Even when installed CM10 on this bugged recovery, Camera is not working

After it says "installing", what happens?
It is installed now without errors, after 2-3 wipes and installs and 3 or 4 times flashing kernel, because on first setup, i had messages about crash of setup or something like that, but after all it seems to be working, but recovery menu is still buggy as i've described above
Camera is not showing preview, but its taking pictures.
And there is again GPS problem - Google Maps can find the signal, but any other app, like Automapa cant get it and always stays at "looking for sattelites".
Also CM10 restarting from time to time, even when phone is locked, so i think ill be back to CM9...
recovery: TWRP 2.5.0
ROM: aokp_primoc_unofficial_Jan-19-13
kernel: the one that came with the aokp rom .zip found in this page
anyway I try to do a factory reset in TWRP and it failed (sd - ext wouldnt wipe for some reason) so I just wipe everything else (system, cache, davlek, and android_secure). I install AOKP and reboot.
so AOKP's colorful unicorn bootloader comes up and I'm greeted by the new interface. It asks for the default launcher and I decide to go with nova launcher. About 30 seconds later the thing reboots and I go through the same process over and over again.
I tried a different kernel as well, lean kernel, and it never got past the "this is for development purposes only" screen. this >

I tried getting back to stock, but even when I recover the back up I made in TWRP before I changed ROMs it gives me the "this is for development purposes only" screen again and never continues.
Things I've tried
Running an RUU program. always fails.
getting the RUU rom file from the temp folder, renaming it, PK76DIAG, and putting in my sd card. says hboot version is old.
flashing a different ROM. gives me a black screen
reformatting sd card, still can't wipe sd - ext
Scrolling through the internet I can see that a lot of people have trouble with the One V and boot looping, but none of their solutions help me,
I'm really at my wits end so if anyone has had this trouble before I'd love the help

so it is not about re-boot, try like this... Un-tick reboot and as the process is done.. remove battery and than switch on your mobile yourself..( i mean after placing battery again )/// if this dont help.. let c any other has answer for this:angel:

As u have changed partition sizes now u have to supply PIT file in ODIN. Get the PIT and ODIN from this Post. Once the ODIN shows pass, remove battery, enter recovery, wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache.
Hi Everyone,
I have unlocked the boot menu on my One M9, and installed TWRP (https://dl.twrp.me/hima/twrp-3.0.0-2-hima.img.html).
However I have a sneaking suspicion that the custom recovery is not working correctly. Every time that I boot into recovery I see the same message (shown below). Every time that I see the message I tick the 'Never show this screen during boot again' checkbox, and then swipe the 'Swipe to Allow Modifications' button.
Why am I seeing this message over and over again? Furthermore what does seeing this message actually mean? As a side note I appear to be able to install ROMs (Android HD, and Venom) - log files show successful ROM installation - however I cannot boot into them, instead I simply find myself at the bootloader screen whenever I start the phone.

Any help here would be great! I am currently unable to use the phone, and would ideally like to start using a custom ROM. However if doing so is not possible it would still be good to work out what is going on before I make the move back to the stock ROM.
Kind Regards,
Davo
that is normal, if you won't use stock roms again, just select never show this during boot again and swipe to allow system modifications. then you can normally flash roms without any problem
That is exactly my point! I have already followed your suggestion over ten times...but the message keeps appearing regardless!
