When I have beastmod flashed alone (pretty sure its using stock kernel) and when I flash jugs .02 kernel. no matter what I set it at while using demand governor my min frequency keeps going to 384 on my first cpu. my second does seem to stay at 918 which is what I set it it at.. Is this normal?
Tried using setcpu and system tuner . both have same effect except set cpu min slider will stay at where I set it, system tuner will revert to 384
anyone have any idea? driving me nuts.

Mine does the same on both apps only difference is with system tuner is that sometimes the min actually goes higher to about 1.5 but then I close it and check again and it's back at 384 while the second CPU stays at where I set it..

I am on both jugs and beastrom and my overclock/underclock stays what I set it at but I do know that my brightness settings go back to automatic every time I reboot even though I set it on minimal brightness.
I am only using set cpu so maybe I'll advise removing tuner app

I was using setcpu before I tried tuner. I know ur slides stay the same but when u switch outta the app and go back is ur mhz displaying 384 or ur minimum
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
anyone have any idea why this happens?
I have the same exact thing on juggernaut 2.0 running synergy kernel 0.02. On another note I also have solved the problem with the brightness (I think) by just going into settings and adjusting it manually in display rather than using a brightness widget or some other way to adjust it.
I'm having the same problem on SkyICS RC7 Speed w Faux kernel. Max settings stays put, minimum setting resets to match it. If I sit on the setting screen in system tuner, it works fine. As soon as I back out of the screen, it resets.

Hey all. I bought this also last night and I really like it. Phone seems much smoother then with set cpu. My concern is when I set the clock speed, I apply them to run on init.d. But when I open the app to check the settings it shows my minimum speed as high as my maximum speed. But if I go to the voltage settings then back to the cpu settings its fine. My minimum and maximum speeds are fine. It shows both maxed out when I first open the app. I just don't want my cpu full bore all the time. Thanks.

Bump for some help

I think what you are seeing is actually the Max of each core, not the min/max.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
Also to whenever your changing speeds in system tuner after you set the desired speeds click on the kernel tab at the bottom and click on file that's says "mpdecision " and kill it, this ensures that both cpu will come back on line as the adjusted speeds you set
I stand corrected. The top slider is Max, bottom is min

You could also try and use Fauxclock for setting OC speeds and a screen off profile and just use System Tuner for UV and SD tweaks. This has been my combo and it works wonders.

Wow. I never thought of doing that. I would think they would work against each other. I may do that. Thanks

Just bought it but I don't really get it. Both the max and the min. Are at 1.5 set on on demand but at the top it says 384 mhz (I'm guessing that's the current clock speed since I'm not doing anything) don't know which one to trust. should I set the min. at 384 ?

Set the min at 384 and the max where ever you want. Stock is 1.5. You can underclock or overclock (if your kernel supports it). If you overclock dont check set on boot til you have played around with your phone and are sure that your phone can handle it. You can choose what ever governor works best for you. Conservative is best for battery, performance is the worst. Most people go with on demand, but your results may vary.
I've found that the smartassv2 governor gets me the best results.
But its very unstable and can cause crashes.

thanks man i just dont know why it doesnt say 1.5 at the top since both the max. and the min. are at 1.5 maybe its a bug or something or maybe thats how it is
ps i hit the thanks
Try clearing the data on set CPU and then uninstalling and re -installing. If that doesn't work, but into recovery and wipe data and wipe dalvik .

Or if that doesn't work go into your superuser app and hit menu, then preferences and update your superuser binaries. Sometimes if they are out of date it can cause issues with set CPU.

Ok will do that

glad that worked out! nothing worse then paying for an app and it not work right!
Recently took the time to flash to the sweetest ICS ROM out there, Darkside of course! After installing and setting up my profiles again I cannot seem to get SetCPU to run in the background. Normally as I'm sure you all know, when you boot your phone it starts with it and puts the icon in the status bar, however that is not the case. Double checking the app everything is set up properly, but seems to refuse to run at boot.
Anyone have any insight on this?
Try the profiles in set CPU and enable them. That's what I do and it works. Also you can download cpu spy and you will also see what it's running mainly on.

Yeah that's another question I had. I was curious if there was another app that monitored the CPU outside of SetCPU to see if the profiles are actually functioning regardless of the SetCPU icon being in the status bar.
I've installed CPU Spy and SetCPU is running my profile correctly so far. Thanks for your contribution & I will continue to monitor this to see if it runs all my profiles properly.
No problem.

Im currently on JMT v9, and want to lower my max CPU to 1512Mhz. Ive tried using the included Voltage Control Lite...slide my max freq down to 1512, then hit apply changes. Ive also tried using AnTuTu CPU Master Free...again, slide max down to 1512 and hit Apply. Also set it to apply upon reboot, which I have done, and it goes back to 1728.
Any ideas?
Faux kernel? Download CPU spy. I'm on clones drones, although set CPU doesn't show the changed Max freq, CPU spy shows the phone never goes above what I've set. If that makes sense

Your thread title says under volt but it appears you want to underclock. Try system tuner or ROM toolbox.

Yes underclock my bad.
Tried system tuner, pulled the slider down to 1512 and it pops right back to 1728 lol

Well i just read in the jmt thread this may be an issue with the kernel...others can't set at 1510 either. 1458 works tho

OK so I rooted my Nexus 7 last night and installed ROM Toolbox to be able to manage the CPU. Was just wondering if anyone else is doing the same and what speeds you've adjusted too? I've found that ROM Toolbox will only let the max CPU speed be adjusted and applied on boot and the min CPU speed always resets to 1026 even if you change it and check apply on boot. Anyone else having this issue? Currently I have my CPU set at 1350ghz max and 1026 min.

I doubt you'll be able to mess with that until a custom kernel is released, and then you flash it..

I've never had this issue with any of my other devices running on the stock kernel. I've always been able to change max and min CPU speeds. Obviously the max is set by the kernel as is the min CPU speed available but you should still be able to under clock the max and min CPU speeds any where in between those set speeds of the kernel.

Installing SetCPU was the second thing I did after rooting (adblock is always first) and my settings survive reboots no problem... Max and min stay where they should, as do the governor and scheduler.
When I first opened the app and detected settings it did have the min up at 1026 like you say, but has stayed down since I changed it.

Yeah I switched from ROM Toolbox to SetCPU and haven't had the same issue. SetCPU has allowed me to switch the max and min CPU speeds along with governor and scheduler. Weird that ROM Toolbox wouldn't hold my setting, never had that issue before.
