[Q] New Owner

Just got a Incredible 2 days ago, came from a Eris. Loved the Eris and I was running KaosFroyo. Loved the way it ran. First day I had the DInc I rooted it. Second day im trying out ROMs and im on skyraider vanilla so far and im not feeling it too much. So im wondering if anyone came from the Eris and what roms they would recommend. Im not that into sense based ones though.

I did the same exact switch except I came from tazzfroyo and went to skyraider. Once I spent like a day or two on that I didn't feel it so much either. I switched to cyanogenmod nightly builds and haven't regretted it since. Good luck and happy flashing!

Does CM have any issues with Wifi Tether?
Can the camera use all 8mp and 720p video?
im leaning towards CM right now but without wifi tether i can make the jump

Its broke in 6.1 but if you flash a different kernel or an earlier version, you shouldn't have a problem. I'm on nightly 10/24 with no complaints.

MIUI! It will ease your transition to Android. Not to mention it is one of the smoothest and fastest ROMs out right now.

Myn's Warm 2.2 for a great themed Sense ROM or CM6.1 if you want close to stock Android. If you want a Sense ROM with very few changes from stock, Fresh 3.4 is an excellent choice.

Just new to rooting myself. I purchased my Evo back in November, but it took me until now to root my phone. I actually researched these and other forums since July before purchasing my phone in November and finally rooting last week. I'm glad to report that all went well. I'm now running myn's Warm TwoPointTwo (RLS5) with Konikub's Aloysius 5 theme that looks awesome. I also have the Unrevoked splash screen and wrx4memp’s Warm 3 Boot Animation on startup. Thanks to the developers of these forums for all they do.

Sense 3.0 Roms

What is the most stable/or best sense 3.0 ROM for the EVO 4G. Or even the most stable/best rom period? Links would b much appreciated

Kingdom was pretty smooth for me, but that's the only full 3.0 rom I ran. I'm back on Mik2.2 and it's the smoothest and most reliable for me. Gives you a lot of free room to play with as well.

Sorry as much as I love MikG (it is what I am running) it is a hybrid rom 2.1 with 3.0 elements. It is not a true 3.0 rom.

Synergy or Kings Alliance

Kingdom was at one point the true 3.0 sense base ROM. Now that's been switched to Synergy-Kingdom, which is still a very good ROM, but with the Synergy merger it seems to be having it's complications (Which I'm sure Virus and crew will fully sort out).
At one point I was running 6/23 Nightly AKA B1.4 w/ Burst Leo Theme, but now I am running aamikam's version of 3.0 sense (which I've been sooo longing for) which is in Alpha stage right now...D*mn good Alpha if you ask me! Super stable, my daily drive for sure.
It's on his web site, which requires sign up to access download links.

Any Rom with sense 3.0 will work, be personally I use kingdom revolution super smooth just kills battery

Alliance is great, but it is a hybrid of 2.1&3.0

Just to be clear, folks here are talking about ROMs for the Evo 4G that have things ported over that the Evo 3D has. I think the OP was talking about actually flashing a ROM that's meant for the Evo 3D onto the 4G, and that's something you can't do.

Best port of 2.1

Can somebody lead me to the best Sense 2.1 port?
I want my dad to enjoy the goodness of Sense 2.1. Not 3.0/5 because they can be too slow and memory hogging. Considering its my dads phone he wants it to work. Any help?

I'd have to say...barnacles did the salvage sense 2.1 rom and virus did the gingersense rom. So one of those would be the best bet. Very stable. But no longer being worked on

Best Sense 2.1 MikG. It is a Sense 2.1 + 3.0 hybrid, and it is incredibly stable. Pair it with ChopSuey kernel and you are good to go

I would have to say Myn's Warm 2.2 or Koni Elite. Both were pretty similar, and killer for battery life, I could go 2-3 days on those roms without charging.

Neither of those are sense 2.1...

The 2.2 in warm 2.2 means its froyo 2.2.

I second mikg, its the mose stable one i have tried. the only thing not working is hdmi out but if you flash one of the gingerbread kernels youll get that back.

When I was on my EVO I used mikg also. Very very responsive. Great battery life. I also flashed freedom kernel and overclocked it. Worked great for me.
