Does anyone know if overstew's ICS theme (1.5) has these animations in it? If not, can we flash these over that theme? I am running StarBurst 1.9.5

No, it doesn't and if you flash this you will lose the theme. Your best bet is to have Overstew include them in his theme.
Can we have a preview of some kind? I know it's a lot to ask for ^^

Will these work on Starburst 1.9 by chance? I haven't moved to 1.9.5 because I like the samsung email app over AOSP.

I tried this on my Starburst ROM and now I can't get into my phone. I made sure to wipe cache and dalvik beforehand. My phone won't get past the boot screen. I guess it's hit or miss. I'll see if I can figure how to boot my phone up.
Maybe someone can make a video. Comparing to stock I don't know what changed or maybe it didn't work for me.

Were you on 1.9 or 1.9.5? If you were on 1.8 it probably wouldn't work.
Flash the corresponding "return to stock" zip and that should do you.
I did flash over Starburst 1.9 and it worked great.

try holding the volume up button in with the power button; when the first boot up screen comes on, release the power button, but keep holding the up volume.
If you have CWM, it should boot to that eventually.
I fixed it. It was a pain because I was on the road.

Hey guys, I seem to be having a problem on my phone recently.. Every time I start it up, or try to load an app or something, I get a message saying the process ends. This happens with Google Apps, Gingerbread Keyboard, Etc. I've tried wipe x3 then reflash, but it doesn't do anything.
I'm running
Genocide Kernel, Firmware 2.2.1, And Simply AOSP v3.1.2
I believe it's still on SFR 1.2 , but it's not saying that in the build number so I'm not sure..
someone please help.
If you have a good nand backup you can do a factory data reset and then restore advanced data. That will clear up any of the FCs. Or clear data in each of the apps giving you problems in settings>applications>manage applications>all and scroll to google services framework and click it and clear data. Do the same for the Gingerbread keyboard and any other app FCing.

I will try this, but the other problem is, it just started having problems with the android processor. Like, I did a restore, and all the sudden, I'm getting all the errors I was getting originally, and like the core & android processor thing is failing.

Sounds like you did not have journaling enabled. The Factory Data reset and a reflash of your ROM should fix it. Find out how to enable journaling for your ROM and do it.

When you install a new ROM like AOSP all of that is gone. If you want to do SFR and Genocide instead of AOSP then go ahead. We should get you up and running first though and then you know the steps to take when it screws up again.

I would suggest either pming or posting on the AOSP thread what setup you're on and how best to convert to their Rom. Sometimes they've heard of conflicts or tricks that they can walk you through. I love SRF, but if you want to explore, you should know what works best to transition. You'll get it going, just keep toying. Worst you have to do is Odin and that's not terrible for the phone now and again.

You need to make sure that your wiping correctly, I think others have said to make sure to use darkside superwipe. I ran into the same issues, but with a few runs of fix permissions and data/cache/dalvik cache wipes and installing the darkside superwipe, I've successfully gotten all the ICS roms for the Telus T989D working. All of those are the T-Mobile ROMs. Try that and see if it helps!
word. never flash anything without wiping. do not use rom manager to flash anything.... if you MUST use a gui to flash, use rom toolbox because at least it lets u wipe pre-flash.

I'm having the same problem, friend.
I am. I have been on cm9 for a long time. I tried flashing cm9 clean first and flashing PA but to no avail.
I had this problem when I tried restoring to the paranoid. I fixed it by clean installing aokp with nyan v5, then clean installing paranoid and Google apps nothing else in twrp recovery and it booted. It should work in cwm also but I have not used cwm for a while because twrp is easier although a bit buggier.
My recommendation would be odin back to stock and then odin cwm and flash
I got it to boot once, but it was missing the notification bar. I redownloaded it, but now it gets stuck at the boot animation, and the phone gets warm to the touch.
Edit: Tried CM9 first twice after fully wiping. I hope to get this working, because it looked pretty cool...

Not sure why there are so many problems just to get it to boot. If one way works for the majority of people, shouldn't it work for everyone if the steps are followed exactly?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda app-developers app
Nope...too many variables. Every phone is different, bad downloads, bad flashes. If everyone Odin'd to FC09 stock then rooted with cwm 5.0.2.7 then flashed CM9 98% would be fine but still 2% would have trouble.

Go with cm9 that darchstar has posted. It works great and I use it as my daily. After you do the base install I recommend nightly 7/24 and using the chris41g kernel b3 version with it. Great battery life and full functionality.

Does cm9 wipe out cwm?
I'm paranoid to do anything without an option for recovery.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Here is your safest bet (as in super safe):
1. Download the el26 safe cwm kernel from the kernel repository in the sticky for this phone
2. Download cm9 6 and gapps
3. Follow cm9 6 download instructions
4. Let it boot
5. Use mobile Odin if you have it (highly recommend as it makes flashing so easy) and flash the el26 kernel that you downloaded in the kernel section from external sd...always check md5 sum first!
6. Once u see the blue light on ur phone in the LED, hold power+volume up to boot into recovery, once the sgs2 logo shows you can lay off the buttons
7. If you didn't do it in time or held too long, just pull the battery and go to recovery via power+volume up
8. You should be in cwm, flash the nightly of cm9, clear dalvik and cache, then flash the chris 41g b3 kernel and reboot
9. Enjoy
10. From this point forward you have a bomb rom and working recovery that will allow backup/nand/flashing safely.

Flash Part 1
Boot the phone
Go to the updater (Under put things back to stock) and install Part 2 (Two part install is to finish theming Talk)
Reboot and Enjoy
When I did this I went to CWM to flash this through odin. Rom works very smooth. There is a ton of information in the thread but that should get you started.
Hello I been trying to use the ktoonz kernel for some time now and every time I install it after reboot I get a black screen after. The rom is compatible cause a lot of people have it up and running with the jelly bomb 11.0 rom. Anyone has any idea why this is happening? I searched the forums and I can't find a solution any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance
I would not think you would need to flash this kernel over the ROM since Jelly Bomb 11 comes with this kernel already installed.
Having said that you should not have a problem flashing the kernel again, as long as you flashed the correct one. Did you flash the TW kernel or the AOSP kernel?

I flashed the from itself and I got the black screen so I downloaded the TW kernel same result then I tried the aosp and the black screen remains I don't know what I'm doing wrong
Jelly Bomb is a TW ROM so you need the TW kernel. The AOSP kernel will not work.
You may need to wipe all (data, cache and Dalvik) after flashing this ROM.

Did you run the kernel cleaner script after flashing the kernel? http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...5&d=1347395869
I believe that will do the trick, flash kernel, then flash kernel cleaner script.

If you still get stuck at a black screen you should wipe data and caches.

you're not alone I have the exact same issue but mines boot up and then non stop flickering of screens and menus going black then coming back when i tap the screen. Im on Phantom Hackers rom (2.1 rooted / mostly stock) I tired the kernel cleaner but was told to run it BEFORE I flask ktoonsez kernel. No dice I got the same effect.
I should probably try the cleaner after flashing the kernel huh? .....brb.
Edit: No dice - same effect flashing the cleaner before and after flashing the kernel.
have to go back to freeza "LJ7 Kernel with bootanimation support" only one that works for me.
Can't understand what would be causing this.
