Yes. Just make sure they are not AOSP ones. You should have no problem running the correct kernel.
Uhm what is AOSP?
So should I run the bfs or cfs kernel?

AOSP means Android Open Source Project..... Such as CM 6 and other sense-less roms

Hello,
I've been reading the forums for a while and i have a few questions about overclocking:
1) How and what and do i have to install to overclock htc wildfire? (I heard that i need special "kernel" or something and the "setCPU" program).
2) Can I overclock htc wildfire running on any ROM (by installing the "kernel" and "setCPU") or, I need to flash a special ROM (and then install the "kernel" and "setCPU") ?

you can flash an overclock kernel to any rom, such as HCDR.Jacob's HCDR.kernel. also, setCPU is not the only overclock app out there, but it is the best. setCPU is available on the market, and costs AU$3.50 or something. HCDR.kernel can be found here on the forums.

I am happy with this official froyo, just need to remove some htc app and a bit overclock...
After rooting, can I only change kernel, or I must use some of custom rom?
Thx

Yes, just flash in the kernel, no need to flash a custom Rom.

You cant install the kernel on the official FroYo devices because they cant be rooted. And, to flash the kernel, you need a rooted device.
What are the benefits of installing a different kernel?
It depends which kernel. you'll be able to overclock and underclock, experience better battery life etc.
Jacob kernel works very well on sunaabh ROM. WiFi works also great. My phone works stable at 710mhz and even 768 doesn't make any problem.

I use...
710MhZ and 352MhZ....is correct?
I usually overclock to 352-691 with smartass governor.
is there any way to overclock with permroot? Just about all the fourms I have seen say temp root. And those that don't I can't understand.

Flash a custom kernel?
HTC Vision 1.8 OC, CM7 RC1==HAPPY!!
I have flashed Virtuous 1.0.1, I would like to play a little with oveclocking ,as it is written in ROM description it support oveclocking.
I am looking for some guide about flashing kernel and oveclocking or if somebody could even describe it here I would really appreciate it.
Additional for confirmation, I've read there are 3 kernels for virtuous: standard, advanced and shipped from HTC (default in virtuous).
I would like to overclock to safe frq ,I've read somewhere it is 1GHz. Probably it would be sufficient to flash standard kernel.
Ok so coming back to question how to flash new kernel and overclock our pocket PCs?

From what you stated, it seems Virtuous has an OC kernel already, just download SetCPU from the Market and follow the prompts.

I'm running a desire bravo that has s-off using alpharev and whatever hboot alpharev uses. I'm going over to the base MIUI from MIUI[dot]US and have a hardware problem that I think is down to the kernel, camera and audio jack isn't working. Does anyone know kernels that'll work with this ROM?
Thanks Dave
