My DHD stuck on htc logo

hi I tried to install IceColdSandwich-1.2.0 Rom on my DHD but after i did it my device stuck on htc logo and never boot the problem is i am new in this stuff and i can't get my device back to life i 'v downloaded the ice cream sandwich using
clock work mode and my Hboot screen shows:

Your phone isn't rooted. How did you manage to flash recovery onto it in first place?
Search for advanced ace hack kit on xda. Read a LOT about how to use it and once ready, let the kit do its thing. After that you'll be S OFF and able to flash any custom ROM.

He unlocked it using the official HTC dev tool. It allows you to flash a custom recovery.
This is an obligatory to the op. Please research before you go and do stuff to your phone. I just don't get how someone will take a risk on there phones.
The reason it didn't boot is because you have to flash the boot image seperately. One simply can't just flash a rom, in cwr and call it a day if you did it using HTC tool.
What you need to do is. Boot back.into hboot select fastboot.
Take the boot image from your rom and place in your folder where fastboot and adb are located.
Then run the command
Fastboot flash boot boot.Img
Fastboot reboot

yeah you are right I used htc dev to unlock my DHD but I tried to took boot.img from the Ice cream sandwich Rom and it did not workout with me please if you know any way help me

thanks but i only can access to Hboot menu and i can enter the clock work mode but the AAHK doesn't workout with me

Run a fitting RUU, relock your Bootloader and use AAHK afterwards.
(if you would have taken some time to get into this stuff, you wouldn't be messed up right now "Official HTC Unlock" is not that brilliant compared to AAHK ).
You say you don't know which RUU to use.
Where did you buy your phone? Was/Is it branded?

no my phone isn't branded and the version of my android was 2.3.5 , HTc sense 3.0 software number 3.13.415.2
and AAHK need downgrade to workout with me so I gave it a chance but every thing went wrong

I didn't really know what you meant by afaik
I tried alot of RUU but they all keeps popup with error 155 and i don't know how to fix it and i don't know how to fix this problem but i really need to work it out and thx for all of you

Did you try flashing it in fastboot mode?
Get your device into bootloader and choose fastboot. Try to run the RUU again.

Ok, another idea:
You have that stock RUU fitting your phone?
Open explorer here: C:\Users\"YOUR USERNAME"\Appdata\Local\Temp\
Then Run the RUU, it will extract the files to some folder in here, you will see it pop up when opening the RUU (or you run it and simply use search).
Inside there'll be a "rom.zip".

Rename it to PD98IMG.zip, push it to your SD card (in root, not into a folder) and boot your phone into bootloader.
It should check the file and then you have to select "yes" to flash it. Should be fine after it.

So you're a hundred percent sure, that you've got a fitting image? Cant believe that it would block a fitting image that method.
Which version did you try? Most recent one?
And BTW: would be great it you would tell before what you already tried instead of letting me explain it and then say "oh i already did that"

EDIT: I guess it doesnt take the Rom because of the high hboot version (yours is somewhere around 2, "normal" ones around 0.84). Maybe it would be the best to contact HTC's Support regarding that you used their official unlock instead of AAHK.

Why do you wanna go back to stock?
For warranty?
How did you root/hack your device? I guess AAHK? You can use that to get back to stock as well.
Otherwise get a fitting RUU for your device and run it.

Yes, for warranty (If my device have an problem).
I root it with AAHK.
Is this really safe and stock or are they files on the device with an root info?

It's safe and there are no traces left.
But trust me You could give your phone back to warranty with all those stuff installed
Had once an issue with my HD2, the guy at the story did not even know how to get into bootloader...he just said: okay, its defective, get your DHD and you'll be fine

Sometimes the store sent devices to the service and than they check these things in the bootloader.
That's why i'm asking.

Is there a stockrom as a zipfile instead of a RUU?
I'd like to revert via SDcard.
(because of an USBbrick / hardwarefailure)

Download the RUU.exe, open it via WinZip or something similar and get the rom.zip out of it.
(Or simply run it till it shows the manual, then get into your temp folder and you'll find the rom.zip there).
Rename it to PD98IMG.zip, push it to the root of your SD and your good to go

Winzip doesn't seem to be able to open my downloaded RUU files. (neither does winrar)
And if i just execute the exe file i don't see any option to copy it to a temporary folder.

Depends on witch rom you had from the start ,the first 6 are WWE.
This will revert your DHD to stock .

When i decide to return my phone for repair i shall unroot it with this (renamed) rom.
First i'm going to look futher for some kind of softwarefix for my usb problem.

I have been reading on here quite a bit to work out how to unroot the DHD. I realise that running the correct RUU is likely to be the way to go... what about S-Off? As far as I have read, running the RUU does not put your phone back to S-On.
Please could you let me know if this is the right order to do things in:
Downgrade to 1.32 (by running the 1.32 WWE ruu) - Would it be possible to run 1.32 WWE ruu regardless of what my CID currently is? Also, would this give me WWE/unbranded CID?
Temp root with visionary.
Use the S-Off tool to get to S-On. If wanting to return to carrier branded, then you would also be able to change the CID to whichever Carrier ID wanted.
Install RUU of choice, be that branded or non-branded.
I think that's it... if someone could confirm if I've got this right or let me know if I've gone for overkill?

i already read the troubleshooting thread but didn't work for me since i can't create a goldcard because mi htc desire doesn't turn on correctly, im stuck on those screens : /

If you're S-ON it eliminates the possibility of you having a custom bootloader, and the only possibility now is that the RUU was corrupted or you used the wrong RUU for your device. Therefore, for this process you need a goldcard.

OR
If you bought the phone unbranded from a store e.g. Amazon.com, then just flash the WWE RUU.
OR
If you're lazy and have balls of steel, go to my guide and download the 2.3 RUU (Find it in resources) and run that.
THEN
Turn the phone on, plug it in via USB to your computer, find the RUU.exe you downloaded, run it on your computer, wait. Do not for christ sakes unplug it when it's updating or you'll brick your phone.

I tried with WWE RUU and 2.3 RUU from htcdev.com but the progress bar frezees at 79%, or gives me error 153, 158 "invalid rom", or 132 "invalid signarure" : /
and i can't create a goldcard because it doesn't goes into the sistem : /

Radio_V2 FAIL.... oohh boy, it could be bricked. You can keep trying the 2.3 RUU in hopes of fixing it though, I've seen it happen.

damn, well thanks anyway i'll keep trying with 2.3 RUU : (

i fixed it !!
i just put it in the fridge for 20 minutes because it was too hot (maybe for running to many RUU's) then i took it out, tried again with 2.3 RUU and now im using it !!

EDIT: no i'm stuck in bootloop -_-, tried going to recovery and formatting everything (as bortak guide says) but when i go to recovery bootloop apears, it seems that i dont have a recovery, any ideas?
EDIT2: WTF i just put it on the fridge again for 10 minutes and worked again, could the problem be the overheating?

Yeah I realized that, but acording to the information the problem depends on the mobo which must be PVT1, and i have PVT3 so maybe the problem should not be as bad as is in PVT1.
Am I wrong?

PVT1 was bad with mobo... I did not see many problems with pvt3, let it settle and test it for a couple days then you will see... You can try stability test app from market to stress phone out

Stability test... is running your phone to max. load to test if everything working fine... if you got overheating issue etc... Best thing will be underclock and undervolt to reduce heat produced by mobo and cpu/gpu

Thanks, i already tried it but it seems everything is ok out of the overheating prorblem: /
I've be en cheking and it seems that the phone turns off when battery temperature reach +30°C, so maybe it could be the battery, what do you think?

I can't tell you, I used to have battery temp. about 37 C peaking to mid 40's and no reboots, as I sold phone I can't test it

My htc battery is usually around 30 and get no problems and i have high capacity battery which never goes over 24. I dunno if this helps r not

thanks both, but it seems that the problem comes from the mobo, so mi last hope is sendig it to HTC, do you think they still support this model? and if so, can i send them the phone even im not under warranty?

I dunno, they probably would fix it but im guessing it wont be cheap

Well if u go the s-off + rooting road and all goes well...u wont regret it
Just do plenty of reading about it first so u know exactly what u have to do that way it reduces the chances of things going wrong

Really need help guys, phone relocked and stuck on bootloader

I hope I can get some kind hearted people to help me with my problem! :crying: I am selling my One X and have followed a step by step guide to Unroot the device. It now shows as Relocked on the bootloader. However, the phone wont boot up the OS and just reboots to the bootloader again. Here are some pics:

Yep, you need to flash RUU to return it to stock, just by relocking the bootloader it doesn't unroot

yep, what network were you on, was yours a branded handset or unbranded, can you run fastboot commands from your pc on the phone, try running fastboot oem getvar cid
that will tell you what brand your one x is and help you flash the right RUU
My Sensation had the same thing happen to it when i first relocked the bootloader, i almost cried because it wouldn't boot, but thankfully i fixed it by flashing the RUU. you learn from your mistakes :good:

I am on UK Tmobile, it was branded (tmob splash screen). I am downloading the RUU: RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_TMO_UK_1.28.110.7_R2_Radio_1.1204.103.14_release_256500_signed.exe
I assume this one will work. I am using a mac but have a PC to use the exe file. Download speed is at 50kb/s though

brilliant, that should work then, definitely run it on PC not mac
its not exactly bricked, its just that you relocked the bootloader, so in simple terms the security warning is there because the phone is now locked, it checks the whole phone when it boots, and its recognizing something isn't stock, so goes into bootloader with a warning. Flashing RUU returns everything to stock so that should in wipe off whatever is causing the security warning.
Post back how it goes and good luck !

htc m8s stock in bootloader, no ruu mode, no twrp possible, os 1.21.111.1

hello to all friends of XDA.
im not new but i lost my old email. :silly:
i have a htc one m8s thats stuck in bootloader with os version 1.21.111.1 from T-mobile DE.
the problem is that i try to flash the unlock token, flashing the file, i select accept on the screen phone but when the phone restarts the booloader is still locked.
i try to flash a stock recovery (not the same as the os version, because i didnt find it) but it still doesnt work.
i try ti find the last ruu or stock rom version 1.21.111.1 or even the firmware but i didnt find it.
however when i try to boot to RUU mode it doesnt reboot in RUU mode.
i try every steep with the new htc_fastboot. but i dont use the md5 verification or any md5 file (because i dont know how)
i would like to have the phone working even with Lineage os or something like.
please if someone can help me please let me know the steeps.

htc one m8 , i see on twrp says All variants , gsm i think also SO this means any htc m8 will take twrp right ?? any model or carrier ect ??

Htc one m8s is not the same as m8 you cant apply this version of twrp , just dl and flash it in the thread below, and then flash supersu and you will get root and twrp

the problem is that i try to flash the unlock token, flashing the file, i select accept on the screen phone but when the phone restarts the booloader is still locked.
i try to flash a stock recovery (not the same as the os version, because i didnt find it) but it still doesnt work.
i try ti find the last ruu or stock rom version 1.21.111.1 or even the firmware but i didnt find it.
however when i try to boot to RUU mode it doesnt reboot in RUU mode.
i try every steep with the new htc_fastboot. but i dont use the md5 verification or any md5 file (because i dont know how)
i would like to have the phone working even with Lineage os or something like.
please if someone can help me please let me know the steeps.

Did you get the phone in a locked, or unlocked state?
If locked, did you use Sunshine or a HTC unlock (the former option costs $$ and I would't recommend fabricated keys as they can break the device).
T-Mobile DE - a german version of the phone, or US version with German settings?
To reboot in RUU, you'll need to do so through ADB, while connected to a computer.
In order to run RUU, you actually have to re-lock the bootloader if it's unlocked. You also need to disable SuperCID, if it is enabled.
Do you have any more details? I was going to suggest a website that @graffixnyc used to keep updates on, but I don't see the list of files there anymore.
I bought mine three years ago and I feel bad that your outcome is like this.

The files are still there, they are just under Development Portfolio -> XDA Development Work -> Rom Development. http://graffixnyc.com/m8.php
