Whos the dev behind the zedomax kernel for this device - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Cant get any help.. Why do i have cwm with the pre rooted zedomax kernel..but when i try to use rom manager which i prefer it wants you to flash cwm recovery again.. and it gives u phone options for the gt i9000 and epic touch but the kernel is partly a gt i9100 kernel
So what do i need to do to use rom manager

I think some kernels are using the init.rs from the gti900 because at first we didn't have it from the et4g. Idk why they haven't changed it now though. try LoSt kernel or stock kernel those both worked great for me
Sent from my Galaxy S2

Yeah, Zedomax's kernel isn't compatible with Rom Manager. LoStKernel is however.

Also fyi please don't post repetitive threads in the future. I noticed you posted another one like 5 minutes before this one with similar concerns

Has anybody modified the stock kernel with cwm and oc yet? Or are we still waiting for zedomax to post v4?

I believe we are still waiting for a stock based kernel with CWM, Busybox, and Superuser that's overclockable. I, for one, can't wait to see it.

I know bubby has the capability. But he has been focused on his ROM since we pulled out the stock kernel from my phone.

Elite Dev Gokhanmoral will come with a touch recovery (and Siyah kernel for S3 ofcourse) soon. Just wait for a day or two. Since S3 has separate kernel and recovery partition, you can flash only recovery. Keep only recovery.img in kernel.tar and flash using desktop odin or mobile odin.
Yeah. I noticed you have limited feature respect the package that posted Chainfire, thank you!

To be honest i believe the 4ext touch recovery is the best available! I had it on my Sensation and along with the 4ext recovery control app was the best combination. Here's a video(not by me) for those who are not familiar with it:

I'm using official touch cwm 5.8.4.1

Rooted Galaxy s3 alive and well!
Just reflash FreeGS3 without wiping. Since the stock kernel is included in the build, it should overwrite your custom kernel

Someone said they have the AT&T Jellybeer rom running perfectly on our T889, I need to flash our modem though, correct? Does anyone have a zip link to one, I can't seem to find a recovery flashable one? I'm kind of excited now, since our forum seems so quiet.

No need to flash a modem. Clean install first, then just flash the rom and flash gapps. I'm currently running Jelly Beer. :good:
I have Jelly Thunder running fine on mine, I just stayed in recovery and flashed Persius kernel for our device after flashing the ROM, everything working here.

Wait, the modem is the same? So not used to having a phone with the same specs, Lol. I do have to flash a different kernel though?

Modem is not the same, but I am assuming the roms that doesn't include a modem will not replace the one you have now

Yea, I just asked someone in the Jellybeer thread if I had to worry about that, or flash a modem, or kernel. To be on the safe side.... if so, Mmm..... back on AOSP, is going to feel so good. Lol
TerrorCandii Inc.
I too am running jellybeer and it is great it will do for now till whitehawkx and cmenard relese a nice shiny new AOKP rom for us (fingers crossed) it has some AOKP features in it. All I have to say is read read read and when you are done and think you got it read again. All the info is in the the first few posts of a rom thread. just make sure that there is no modem mostr devs do not include a modem but I have notices a few that are starting to put one in so just watch if they do they usually say so because like I said it is not standard pratice.
I do have a question I have not flashed any touchwiz att roms only the unofficial cm10 and jellybeer. So on the TW roms do you have to flash o tmo kernel? The reason I ask is because on the s2 the main difference was the rotation. It was always messed up so the way to fix it was to use a tmo kernel or vice versa . Until someone made a .zip that fixed that and the device name in the build.prop so is that the same situation here.. It doesnt sound like it.
And one m ore question while I am here I posted a question in the q&A thread if anyone knows the proper lcd density. I dont like the way jellybeer is it has small fonts on the phone but everything in the market is way too big and it is driving me nutts.

That i dont know, all the note II has the same hardware, correct me if im wrong. so i dont know if flashing a tmo note II kernel with a Att TW rom will work. but CleanRom is using Persus, and i think Tmo N2 has Persus kernel, so maybe it will work
Here it is guys, i took the risks with my heart pounding every second when it was installing and booting
Using CleanRom by scrosler, here is the link
I flashed the rom, in aroma, i choosed ATT as the carrier and persus kernel, then the rest is pretty self explanatory
then i flashed Tmo modem and Tmo Persus Kernel
it booted and it is running, i powered it off and took out the battery to test if it will power back on again, and indeed it did
Clean rom works perfectly without a flaw.. no need to install any kernel, modem or anything .

ROM for S2 kernel question
Hi,
I am looking at ROMs for my phone - SGS2 ICS 4.0.3 XXLPQ kernel.
My question is, can I only flash it with ROMS compatible with the XXLPQ kernel? Or can I use any ROM as long as it is compatible with SGS2 ICS - there is a nice list on this forum somewhere but the only one with XXLPQ in the name is Darkys. Ive just flashed it with that and wasn't impressed as it appears to be a stock ROM.
Thanks.
