[Q] fastest desire rom - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys im looking for the fastest, cleanest, most stable desire rom and a very fast kernel that i can overclock.I would like a nic linpack score to have a nic cpu fastness.thx

Any Runnymede port, followed by any 2.1+3.0 hybrid for a close second place. They are all smooth and stable, you can check any of the 'which rom' daily threads for confirmation.
SwiftKeyed from my HTC Desire using XDA App.

cm7 seems pretty fast for me, especially when overclocked.

SuperNova Data2Sd..seems to be the fastest so far according to my experience..Runnymede roms were a little laggy at times on my desire..But SuperNova is blazing..got a quadrant scroe of 1721 on it!

Unless you are on a cdma desire.
Sent from my HTC Desire CDMA using XDA App

Cyanogenmod 7.1
Fast, customizable.. But most importantly super stable.
Swyped from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App

Vanilla ice-cream mixed with beer...

i recommend cm7.
it's clean, fast and stable.

For pure benchmark scores without data2sd, the highest I got was 2074 with defrost 6.1 and an old vork kernel

[Q] Which DHD rom should I use??

Hi guys,
I need to know which DHD rom will be the fastest and most reliable for my desire, at the moment I'm using ownhere's desire HD rom but it is a bit laggy and chews battery.
Thanks in advance
I'm stuck on Cool Sense HD v7 (link see my sig - v7 is released as beta later in the thread). It's as fast as any stock froyo and works absolutely stable for me. Will never go back to sense1...
InsertCoin 1.9.1 is damn fast, never had lags, battery life is around 24-36hrs on medium usage.
I'm using iNsertCoin 1.8h and it's very good.
I'm using RCMixHD v3.0 a2sd+.
This one is very fast and stable.
I've already used this for over one week and no any problem!
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Seriously a whole day worth of use, I'm going to have to try this one.
Will tell you how it goes.

I will never go back to sense 1 either, I'll try it. Apparently I was running an older version of ownheredesirehd so I updated it and have no more lag issues, I consistently get around 2600 on benchmark now

Well I tried it but only got about 8hrs of battery, quite good but I think I will try some others or maybe just wait for HTC to release 2.3 with new sense.

how come there are quite big differences between sizes of desire HD roms? some are 180ish mb, and other over 250...
insertcoin 1.9.5 is just perfect

Can't decide between roms

Im new here and wana put new rom on my desire but I can't decide between: devnull-test, cm7, oxygen or insertcoin
All I care about smoothness and stable and fast. Don't care for sense or non-sense
Just installed cm7 myself 45 mins ago and it's fast haven't played around to much but got 1230 on quadrant.
I tried many ROMs but finally settled with Gingervillan 1.5. Fastest and smoothest on my desire.
Just try different out. If you like Sense, you should use iNsertCoin or RCMix HD. If you like it smooth and very stable, you should try Oxygen or CM.
There isn't THE best Rom. Just use one for a few days.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Oxygen 2.0!! It is the fastest and cleanest ROM there is!
oxygen or gingervillian, oxygen 60MB, gingervillian 90MB
LeeDrOid's ROM's are very good. Quick, clean and stable.
I started with leedroid and settled on oxygen 2.0, great battery life, minimal and looks great.

go for redux, trust me. iv tried them all.
Yep redux is amazing.. very quick and stable
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
starburst is da best super fast and smooth and every game av played on it so far smooth gangster 2 splinter cell etc
Redux - fastest, practically bug-free.
So, final answer is - you have to try different ROMs, that's the only way to find which one is the best for you.
Opinions are like butts - everybody's got one!
I've went whit MIUI, it has some really cool option.
Redux +1
It impressed me quite a lot.

From personal experience I would go for Android Revolution, however as said above, you can try both. Android Revolution makes it easy for overclocking and I personally found it much faster than most ROM's.

android revolution has a very good thing... the performance... and for my it is very very important... but i think that you can try various roms... test all and decide... all the people donĀ“t likes the same things!
I personally prefer RCMix just for the rotation being so easy. They both are excellent. Try them both.

The Froyo kernel of ARHD 3.5 allows overclocking to 1.22Ghz, but ARHD 4.0 is a Gingerbread ROM, for which HTC still has to release the Kernel source code.
Thus you cannot overclock with Gingerbread (Sense) ROMs.
Oh, thanks a lot dude.

As pretty much as said already try each rom for yourself, doesnt take do long to do just have to make sure you backup your valuables then test it for a day or 2 in order to build up your cache just to make sure your definitely seeing true performance
Also as stated android revolution is well known for its performance. I've tried both and definitely found android revolution HD 4.4 was very stable and very responsive.
Although I then made the switch to CoreDroid HD 5 ROMS and have personally preferred them because of the awesome visual tweaks which has been well balanced with performance.
It really comes down to what you prefer
I have used both. But RCmixHD 5.9.5 is the best gingerbread based sense Rom I have used so far. So go ahead and install it. Good Luck!!

you cannot overclock no gingerbread sense ROM so what are you people on about Android Revolution easy for overclocking?
its about your preference

thats the best thing to do, you might like other roms due to their features.
try both of them, just flash one of then give it 2 day trail and try the other one and decide
Mike's rom very suits me..
RCMIX HD has the most mods and tweeks. Plus its in rom manager. It suites me fine.

Ya, but jz the gingerbread version can't be oc. The 3.5 ver still cn be overclocked by flashing a customized kernel.
frm bert2662's DHD
I use rc but mikes roms are cool too. Try and enjoy. Thems the rules.

Fastest sense rom? Desire z

Hey guys I was wondering what your opinions are for the fastest sense rom?
I picked up a dz for my girlfriend the other week, rooted, s-off and flashed virtuous unity on it, it seems to be nice and stable but lags quite a bit here and there, especially when clicking on a contact shortcut for the quick menu, phone also has the unity3 kernel oc to 1.2, I would use cm7 but she likes all the sense stuff
Any advices would be great,
Thanks
i agree, im still using unity but its laggy, this is what i used before.... BLAZING FAST
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1096994
good luck
I would recommend Insertcoin or ported CoreDroid. Extremely smooth Rosie (smoother than Vision GB RUU)
thanks guys, ill be sure to check them out

I don't know how fast it is on other task but just do a comparison on the Rosie between stock 2.3 and coredroid 1.0 (sense 2.1 + 3.0). You'll how laggy the stock is
-----------off-topic. btw, yesterday, i went to a showroom and try out the galaxy s II. CPU is fast I admit, but won't stand a chance on UI smoothness compare to my DZ sense UI
check the official HTC OTA gingerbread update: flawless and zappy
you'll find two options of it, pure and untouched (except for root of course), at the dev subforum

[Q] The fastest rom out there?

I tried alot of roms , altough i still got this question.. , what is the fastest rom for our desire? I tried miui and cyanogenmod , and both are still not as fast as ppl say to me.
greetz
redux or oxygen
I'm running CM7.1 with an overclocking to 1.2Ghz and a nice minimalist theme. The phone is faster than me.
But I confess that sometimes, it is a bit slower.

I'm always switching between GingerVillain 3.3 and Redux2. I always stick Go Launcher Ex over the top and they are both blazing fast.
Fastest rom I ever used is dGB by rootSU. For me it's much faster then oxygen or redux (1.4) or cyanogenmod.

Never noticed any reboot..
Maybe, sometimes, the overheating when I'm really using it (like 3G+Playing music+Browsing+Playing games) and charging at the same time

For me it is either redux 2 or oxygen .....both with go launcher ex over the top.
Which I have overclocked and undervolted and apart from the occasional reboot I don't seem to have any issues.

Yeah, that is pretty minor issue indeed.
SwiftKeyed from my HTC Desire using XDA App.
I only suffer random reboots when I underclock too much. I leave it pretty much as it comes and never get reboots.
I was With Aurora from Chaqmol for 2 months maybe and it was the best rom of i ever had
But now i'm with Sebastian Runny and with last update's from him and amarullz ad2sdx-1.0-RC01 Script and i think they reached the best from the sense 3.5 for our Desire's
