Fastest sense rom? Desire z - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I was wondering what your opinions are for the fastest sense rom?
I picked up a dz for my girlfriend the other week, rooted, s-off and flashed virtuous unity on it, it seems to be nice and stable but lags quite a bit here and there, especially when clicking on a contact shortcut for the quick menu, phone also has the unity3 kernel oc to 1.2, I would use cm7 but she likes all the sense stuff
Any advices would be great,
Thanks

i agree, im still using unity but its laggy, this is what i used before.... BLAZING FAST
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1096994
good luck

I would recommend Insertcoin or ported CoreDroid. Extremely smooth Rosie (smoother than Vision GB RUU)

thanks guys, ill be sure to check them out

I don't know how fast it is on other task but just do a comparison on the Rosie between stock 2.3 and coredroid 1.0 (sense 2.1 + 3.0). You'll how laggy the stock is
-----------off-topic. btw, yesterday, i went to a showroom and try out the galaxy s II. CPU is fast I admit, but won't stand a chance on UI smoothness compare to my DZ sense UI

check the official HTC OTA gingerbread update: flawless and zappy
you'll find two options of it, pure and untouched (except for root of course), at the dev subforum

Virtuous 2.0 updated to gb

Virtuous 2.0 is sick. It is based on the Desire Z Sense 2.0 ROM from HTC. Fast, slick, and flashy as well as stable and compatible with everything.

[Q] Which rom currently have sense?

im looking for a rom that is the closest to the stock desire Z rom on a unbranded desire Z.. im in the process of getting a tmobile G2.. and i dont like the stock fw..
by far the best i have come across is Virtuous ROM as it is sense, but faster and tweaks to be better, and with the advanced kernel you can overclock to 1.5 ghz! the only downside is its froyo 2.2

Why is that a downside? What is so much better about Gingerbread than Froyo? I've tried out just about all the GB based ROMs out for the G2, and I don't believe it's better than Froyo. Just a different look that doesn't seem to add speed/responsiveness to the phone.
Virtuous is a great Sense based ROM. Period.
gingerbread seems to be quite a bit faster for me, dunno it might just be me, and I really like the changes to the ui

you could try gingersense as well, i liked it but ditched it for ultimate droid now.
Well if you want the closest to stock then definitely go Virtuous like the above poster stated. But if you want something a bit faster with a significantly longer battery life you have to try TrollogenMod 0.9.1. Its Gingerbread Sense with the Sense 3.0 lockscreen which is pretty fun.

Its no secret that gingerbread makes android much more responsive, that was the biggest goal according to google...
Just sayin

is trollogen perfectly usable? ive been on CM7 for a while holding out for virtuous gingerbread, and now thinking of going to virtuous fusion ROM which is sense 3.0 port. is trollogen good and are there any problems? thanks
EDIT:another downside to virtuous rom is the crappy htc messaging app, so i got chompSMS but then alot of my texts were sent twice
trollogen rom is good to me, run smooth sense 2.1.

It's quite easy to remove HTC messaging app and install the original one.

The new virtuos fusion is amazing. 3.0 is pretty much the creme de le creme. Hts dev team does a good job and rmk is a god amongst swarms of devs. I have ran pretty much all the sense roms and even though there are a few minor glitches in 3.0 I will be using it as a daily rom.

[Q] What ROM you use

What rom do you use?
if you choose other write it
MIUI. Best ROM I have ever used.

I think this question gets asked once a month. Best advice i have read is try out each ROM for at least a week, then decide. Make sure you give yourself pleny of time. Everyone here has their own preferences, but try them out yourself.

Your poll is flawed, what it should really say is 'What version of CM7 do you use'
InsertCoin 1.5 (Sense 2.1 + 3.0)

I ****ing love this rom, i tried sense 3.0 roms before but they were to laggy to work with them on the g2.
now since i got that amazing rom on my phone i got sense 3.0 bits and its fast as hell.
the best rom for desire z users in my opinion ;D

Sense 3.0 Roms

What is the most stable/or best sense 3.0 ROM for the EVO 4G. Or even the most stable/best rom period? Links would b much appreciated

Kingdom was pretty smooth for me, but that's the only full 3.0 rom I ran. I'm back on Mik2.2 and it's the smoothest and most reliable for me. Gives you a lot of free room to play with as well.
Check out Synergy or MikG
Synergy or Kingdom rom
MikG sense 2.1/3.0 FTW

Sorry as much as I love MikG (it is what I am running) it is a hybrid rom 2.1 with 3.0 elements. It is not a true 3.0 rom.
can i get a link to this "Synergy" rom i keep reading about. I have tried MikG 2.2
link to synergy bro

Synergy or Kings Alliance
Kingdom was at one point the true 3.0 sense base ROM. Now that's been switched to Synergy-Kingdom, which is still a very good ROM, but with the Synergy merger it seems to be having it's complications (Which I'm sure Virus and crew will fully sort out).
At one point I was running 6/23 Nightly AKA B1.4 w/ Burst Leo Theme, but now I am running aamikam's version of 3.0 sense (which I've been sooo longing for) which is in Alpha stage right now...D*mn good Alpha if you ask me! Super stable, my daily drive for sure.
It's on his web site, which requires sign up to access download links.
"MiKingdom has finally arrived LOL!"
I use evokings alliance ROM 7.6 it runs really smooth for me.

yea but those are with stock CM kernel and not the lords one...
I personally like sense roms over cyanogen. They feel more smoother and faster than cyanogenmod.

I've been using Android Revolution HD and Virtuous.
They're really nice, and better than what I they would be like.
I'm waiting on the update on Virtuous that's going to happen the next couple of days, they're happening to port over Sense 3.5.
I would personally recommend Virtuous Unity 2.37. No bugs, fully functional, fast and it's good on the battery. I also use the recommended radio with matching RIL aswell.

I've tried RCMix Runny for a bit, I liked it alot but I don't like the boot animation that much.
I'll stick with Virtuous 2.39.0 for now ;D.
I would love to have a ROM which will be fast as CM and have Theming like Sense 3.5 with SRS/Dolby Audio .
OT - CM7.1 is nice.

boot animations are a personal thing at the moment I have beats animations with sound and now just waiting for red beats theme from OPB plus an update to 1.6 is comin tomorrow. why have few apps ported when you can have the whole experience of 3.5 sense

what is the best rom with sense?

what is the best sense rom??
Yeah wrong section. Youll get a full roast for that.
To your question. The sense 2.0 is great . The sense 3 and 3.5 are laggy and slow.

THIS!
while there are way to get 3.x to "feel" snappy... once you go back to a 2.x 1.x sense rom, the difference in speed is like going from sense to AOSP... just sayin'
flame me all you want, I LOVE sense roms, but this is just the truth on this device... can't wait for my Amaze to get here!!! 1Gb RAM y'all!!! haha...
Virtuous 2.0 sense !

I love sense but hate the lag that starts after a little while...with that said I have been really impressed with android revolutions performance. If I could only use one, it would be revolution. I should add the I keep my CPU clocked under 1ghz and it still moves great for a sense Rom.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
My vote would be Virtuous Affinity. It is very feature rich and amazingly stable. It is pretty smooth with a stock install but with a few tweaks it is amazing.
for me - Android Revolution HD 7. clear and fast.
