can any help: ROm Upgrading problem

I was upgrading my XDA2, it said completed, and when i restarted it, the o2 splash screen appears with radio verson 1.17 and thats where it stays... can anyone help. I have tried reinstalling the rom.... but it cant see the pda, and aborts...
Help would be appreciated

Does your device have a bootloader mode? If so get it into, connect usb & start upgrade program. This works on a magician, maybe on yours too?

thank you for the advice, but it is himayalian model.....so i do not know it it has a boot loader.

1-log in to this forum as user:xda pass:xda
2-go to ftp server from the wiki page(up left ur screen)
3-go to himalaya folder and download any rom u would like 2 have(it can appear in several way,exe file or several files zipped in a .zip)
4-if it's and exe file and u have winrar,then extract the content in a folder,u will find 6 files(maybe less,rarely 1 file more-xda2nbftool.exe-),now forget about this file for the moment
u will need 2 file to fix ur phone:nk.nbf & HimauUpgradeUt.exe(i idvice u to dowload an O2 rom upgrade to prevent country id error wich can be fixed if necessary )
now that u have the tools,do the following:
1-press power button+navigation pad(the round one between the green and the red buttons)+reset b
utton SIMULTANESLY,u will enter bootloader mode(blank screen with serial on the upper side of the screen,number like 1.06 on the buttom)
2-put the cradle in usb port DIRECTLY IN UR COMPUTER NOT THROUGH USB HUB
3-put ur phone in the cradle while it's in bootloader mode,u will see that the serial word in the upper screen have changed into USB
4-run HimaUpgradeUt.exe and follow the on screen instructions,u will see a status bar,wait untill it finishes,hard reset ur phone,and here we go
i forgot to mension that u should put those 2 files(HimaUpgradeUt.exe & nk.nbf),in a separate folder,close any open task on ur desktop/laptop,and PUT UR CHARGER IN THE CRADLE for the battery don't run out...

help, interrupted ROM update, Stuck at bootloader screen

hi,
i'm a newbie, and yes i have screwed up.. performed (or should i say.. almost performed) my rom update on my desktop (which is kinda slow PC...) i had no applications or unwanted services running, my computer. The Progress on the Rom update (the desktop couterpart) had incremented and had become full (the progress bar i mean..) and it was nicely sitting there for about two hours with no indication of any further progress (yeah just wanted to make sure it wasnt me being hyperactive or in a hurry )
On the PDA it was a different story.. the screen indicated a 100% copy of some image file and then it was stuck at "Reset Hermon" stage. )for the record, i feel like a parrot now, these words dont really make sense to me.. )
So i removed the cable, battery and booted up my phone after about ten minutes... yup, just like i had expected it got stuck at the bootloader screen.
Now obvisously, my Rom update wizard wont work, as the very first step is to check for a existing Active Sync Connection. and Activesync is not a application tht recognizes phones connected in their bootloader mode...
Now i have no idea about trying to flash thru the memory card, i tried copy pasting all the files that the Rom update file had generated in the desktop folder it was run in(about 4 exe files that are supposedly 'not a valid 32-bit application' and two .abi files.. one of the abi file is 85 mb, so i guess that was the image file.. but when i copied these files into the memory card and re booted my PDA, it didnt show any change, as in it still asked me to connect the USB cable and was trying to get the image from there..
I have a o2 xda zinc. yeah, with no Operating system ..
to say that help would be appreciated is a understatement
damn, contacted the o2 support guys, but i have this feeling that this (forum ) would be a faster way to know if i have to drop my phone at the 'collection center' or not. i am still optimistic as the phones under warranty and its just a software glitch. Please enlighten me. what are my options?

You'll have to copy the two files in system/app folder with rootexplorer.
PS: you need to have your phone rooted.

I have the same problem, but i cant move the files from sd/downloads to system/apps i copy them with rootexplorer, but then dont give me the option to paste em... i just cant move the files to that folder, any ideas?

one problem solved
well i managed to copy and paste the files, but shortly after the phone went death.... and now it STILL DEAD!!! black screen just the 2 bottons left and right of the home button are on... and its been like that for 10 mins... wot went wrong?

Battery off and then reboot doesnt work?

Can you boot to recovery? If you can then do a factory reset.

Well, ive removed the battery and tryin to reboot, but same problem all over everytime, screen just black and no response whatsoever, with my mobile version, i think i cant go to reboot screen but the traditional method ( the power button combination ) so ive installed the sdk manager to do it through CMD, and before it worked ( before when i rooted and lag fixed my galaxy s i9000 ), but now it doesnt recognize the phone connected... so im totally stranded here...
well a little later, i managed to go into recovery screen, and did factory reset... still black brick... too bad i was lovin my galaxy s...

you click setting goto applycation check managerment click running choose file and clear data now reboot

nah the phone is dead, i think my another mistake here, is that i copied the twwiz3 and odex, for another version of my phone, that mite have killed if for good... it wont switch on, so now i basically cant do "anything" with it... ill try to send it to repairs...

Plz could u explain it in brief and also mention minimum requirement of storage on storage card and the type of storage card. Plz mention it in detail. I tried to install it in first and it gave error "smd_alloc_v1: cid 47 does not exist". And at the second time the screen started flickering and hanged up there only. So plz tell me in detail. I have been waiting for long about this.

hey bro...am also from India(delhi)
first download sdformatter software (search it from google) and then quick format ur sd card using it. now copy the tg01 folder(the folder that contains haret application) to it. now tap clrcad 4-5 times...it may show alert, click yes....or it may not....after that jus click the haret app.....it should work now....and first boot will definitely be taking several minutes but after tht its great.

Thanx for fast response. Any way I got it worked by formatting in PC selecting FAT32 and followed your steps and it worked.Really THANX man for this. Really I sweated alot to search this. But many things are not working like can't call or disconnect(It takes ages to call , don't know how to disconnect). Also 3G is not working. Can u PLZZZZZZ put a stable android os. Already gingerbread version came for HTC HD2. Can u plz upload a stable Android with all features working. Once again Awesome work Thanx and take care.

yup....many things are not working.....but its jus beginning and with time the picture will change...
u can use it for playing some cool android games like angry birds....
also a surprise i got- thats an mkv movie 1280x720p playing very smoothly...

flickers!!!! a solution
if u r experiencing flickers when on non home screen applicatins, settings, etc
jus open the mplayer app and press the start{central} hard key so that it runs in background....now do whtever u want.... no flicker anymore.....it should not happen again but if it occurs do the same procedure

The amplifier IC is LM49151 and i am not able to find the driver for the same once we will get driver for that audio problem will be solved..

Hey guys, after when switch on to android it takes around 15 minutes to get the signal and recognised and when u cal, the end button does not work so for that u have to press hold and then press end button and then it works. And it does not support messaging and internet also. I just thought to say the problems bcaz its my first time abt tweaking. So plz anybody finds any solution plz do let me knw. Thank u guys for ur advancement.

What i mean is that you guys know that some of the features are not working on when u port into android like microphone, no message support, no internet support although it shows operator name and also no speaker, bit flickering but you can follow rvin42's idea. So plz anybody do something. Try anything guys.

downloaded and will test it in a while. i can test anything you want, i have lg expo and its just my spare phone. barely use it for movies. i also want android with DLP support!!
ran it and haret froze, then ran it again and booted but got stuck at creating new data.

this happened with me too....
wht i did was formatting my micro sd with sdformatter ....
then jus follow the steps...and dont forget to tap clrcad 5 times before u run haret...hope it works

[SONY XPERIA J] ROOT/CWM Problem switching memories

Hello, i am joaquim and this is my first post so sorry if this is not in the right place or something and I also am a beginner in this subjects..
I have a few questions..My device is a Sony XperiaJ ST26i and the firmware is 11.2.A.0.31.
My inicial intention was to switch the internal memory with the ext_card..I have a friend with the exactily same device who recently did this and was soo easy for him, just root, no CWM rename the vold.fstab with the root explorer and it was done..Well this didn't work out for me and problems started to show here..
I searched a lot and this forum was a big help but somehow I allways ended up stuck.
First I rooted the device..ok! then I wanted to install the CM10 ROM, well I couldn't :S as some topic here refered I installed on my PC the flashtool and no signs of my device in the program..still i went further and in the step that I unplug my device from the PC when I plug him back holding the "+" button the flashtool says that "usb debuging is off" and "MTP is off" and they are both turned on..but then again I don't even know if i am starting the device in the recovery mode in the right way :S
Can anybody help? Am I doing the things right? if not is there a simple way or something?
another question, should I reset my device to the inicial values to do this kind of things? and i am assuming that the ext_sdcard does not make difference if is on or off...
Ho and to root i used the Adb...
I would apreciate have this problem solved..I am stuck in this for days and have searched and searched and what works for the others allways leads me to a dead end -.- It can be a small detail that i am not seeing ...
