Minimum speed - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there.
Has anyone ever noticed a problem with 128000 as the minimum speed?
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk

I never have. It should only go that low when the screen is off anyway.

No missed notifications?

I got it set to run that low only in screen off and never had any issue no miss notification or anything

No problems with 128 as the min. Just don't set it as the max.

I also have had no problems setting 128 as min. It should only happen when the screen is off. I think if you have issues you could bump it up a little bit. I had one problem a long time ago forgot which rom. There was a little delay between the notification of sms messages and vibrate. But I set the min a little higher with Set CPU and it fixed the problem.

[Q] Backlight errors

So after rooting the other day with Visionary+ and bumping my processor up, my backlight on my screen doesn't always come on. The screen is still responsive and I can see it if I put a light on it at the right angle. Just wondering if I should take it back or if restoring it completely will fix this. It seems like it has to do with software that it doesn't work only sometimes. But yet again it can be a hardware issue. Someone please help me out with some advice on what to do.
T-mobile G2

Visionary+ 14 temproot
I had the same problem its because when you oc there is not enough voltage to turn your screen back on sometimes since your cpu using more power . Try setting up a profile on setcpu for when the screen is off and set the max on that anything lower than 800mhz that should solve your problem.

[Q] Best SetCPU settings?

As topic title suggests what are the best SetCPU settings for this phone (running ARHD 3.0), I'm new to SetCPU and the whole overclocking part of android (not new to android, i've been coming here and rooting etc since the G1 lol). Anyway just wondering if anyone has got any good setups/profiles they wish to share?
At the minute I just have my max at maximum and min at minimum with on demand scaling, nothing else. Any help is appreciated guys, thanks.
I use 245-1032mhz and smartass or interactive governor and I don't use any profiles because smartass locks the cpu @ 245 mhz when the display is turned off

245 min, 1228 max, smartass governor.
Works great for me.

245-1032mhz
How is the battery life with 1228MHz?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
On-Demand 1036/245 & On-Demand 460/245 for screen-off.
No lag and battery life is awesome

Tried these settings for a day now and really like them, had the same min and max but with on demand, smartass has definitely been giving me better battery over the course of today.

Yes, smartass is nice. Especially since you don't need an extra "display off" profile. It sets CPU to 254 MHz automatically once the display is off.
That reminds me, is it just me or is adjusting the frequency/temperature etc settings on those sliders a pain in the a**? It'd be much easier if you could enter the digits using the keyboard instead of those sliders. Often the view is blocked by your own hand and setting exact values is almost impossible anyway.

I find On-Demand with a 460max / 245min screen-off profile works far better then Smartass with no profile as 245max caused wake lag for me + music player and Last.fm radio were stuttery when screen was off.
I do agree with your second point

A tip for your hand getting in the way: touch the slider with finger/thumb and slide ur finger/thumb down the screen a bit and then you'll see that then when sliding left or right its like your still on the bar but you can now see what your doing!

I've just installed SetCPU for the first time. Set to smartass and left as 245 and 1036 as set by LeeDroid ROM/Kernel.
Will this increase battery life as opposed to not having Set CPU installed and leaving it as stock?

I find smartass does a better job at reducing the cpu when it's not needed which in turn increases the battery life

Very hot defy -_-

Hey all. My defy when set on 3G only signal seems to get very warm after about 15 mins of use. Is this normal?
Sent from my MB525 using XDA Premium App
It's perfectly normal.
I get 47°c when using 3g on hot days. If it gets any higher SetCpu will drop the processor clock
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
3G with GPS on using it as a satnav i can cook beans on mine
Open reovery , goto system->overclock and set scaling_governor to 'conservative'. Try other options if still not resolved.
Sent from my MB526 using Tapatalk
Mine would get pretty hot too whenever 3G is using.
What this scaling_governor to 'conservative' would actually do or help in this matter?
It allocates clock frequencies more dynamically , rather than staying at 1ghz esp in 3G mode which causes heating. It is set to "ondemand" by default which is not so smart in handling the frequencies I think. Conservative saves me the heating by almost 6 degrees (from 42 to 36) without compromising on the performance.

Almost forgot , after changing the scaling governor dont forget to "Save" the configuration and make sure youve enabled all modules.

Battery

Hi guys! When I got up this morNing my battery was at 100%, after 2 hours of screen off, it was at 55%. Any ideas what the hell is going on? I am using coredroid 1.2, set CPU I'd set to 1194/968, but screen off is set to 245/245. Any ideas? Thanks in advance 7

What's your battery usage overview saying?
Lol, don't even know where to find that on here... I've looked.

It's at settings>about>battery use
Also, I'd suggest uping your screen off profile one notch or you'll risk wake issues. You might also want to lower your minimum from 968, you're basically telling your device to never run slower than 968 and also check that the screen off profile has a higher priority than your main profile.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
You probably have a bad app or system process keeping the phone awake.
I'd also recommend dropping your wake min down (even as low as 245). There's no need to force the processor to run at 968 no matter what. For the sleep setting, I'd try popping the max up to 368 (I think thats the next step up?) because you can have wake issues.
Ok thanks guys! I'll give these a try.

Why is andriod system so high?

Ive notice that this really kills the battery by a lot b why is this just in idle when I have my screen of I see is still awake and I have everything off I mean everything??

This is happening to me as well plus other things thinking of returning it
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
go to s voice and turn off wake up command, and someone here on xda found a bug that kept it awake and he has the fix for it i applied it to my phone but i wont be able to test it until tomorrow morning
I use all options that drain battery:
Svoice unlock
Motions
Face screen on
Hights screen quality, ect
I use 1.8ghz overclock
My battery last all day
Wanna know how
Cpu controle
Its easy, auto loads all your settings, just use the profiles
Set screen off and in call to a much lower cpu clock speed. Like 900mhz
