Now that we have root without unlocking is there a way to go back to stock for.future ota upgrades.
Like if I remove stock apps will that prevent ota upgrades?

yes, removing stock apps will usually prevent an ota update
Right I know so is there a method to flash stock again?

Are you currently on build UVALEM? If so would you be willing to make a copy of the update.zip for me? It should be located either in /cache/fota or /data/fota
Honestly the easiest (and in my opinion the best) way to get to the latest official build UVALH2 and keep root is to flash MrRobinsons root66 version with odin or mobile odin.
Though if you just want to use the ota then you first must be full stock, no mods no removed bloat, etc. Then get voodoo ota rootkeeper and preserve root, reboot to stock recovery and flash the ota. Then reboot and restore root.
Alternatively, you can flash with mobile odin pro and itll inject root during the process. (Dont do this if you have modded build.prop for wallet). You dont need to meet the stock requirements this way.

Is it possible to temporarily root the device without applying a custom kernel? I'm having 4.1.2 woes so I want to factory reset but backup data first. Can it be done?
If not, would rooting prevent me from getting new ota updates? Thanks!

I am rooted and received the OTA notification could I do the update without un-rooting or should I un-root using Wug?
Thanks

If you are rooted then why would you want to update with ota?

Presumably, if it keeps root like he is asking, it'd be quicker for him to accept the update on his phone than go to a computer, download the update and then install from there.
What I meant is that if he is rooted then he can flash any version of android on his phone and doesn't need to update with ota

Rooted doesn't mean he has a custom recovery and can flash easily.
So in this case ota is easier.
And ota updates really are updates, which means you don't lose your data.
You can take the OTA. I took the update and didn't have to have stock recovery. I had to restore a backup of completely stock 4.1.1 because an audio mod was making the update fail. CWM also has a protect root option after the update and will allow you to switch back to stock recovery if you want.

So the 4.3 update has arrived to my country but I am not able to update OTA because I am currently rooted. How do I update to 4.3 and maintain root from 4.1.2 rooted? The phone is scandinavian (Sweden)
There are some apps that temporary remove root like triangle away or jellybean unroot etc

Can you please specify which apps that can for 100% unroot my 7105 in order to install 4.3? How do I root 4.3 once installed?
i am using custom rom on my Galaxy S6. If i switch back to the stock firmware but my phone is still rooted, can i receive OTA updates again? And also, will it block updates if i am using TWRP

You have to be completely stock (not rooted, no custom recovery, no modified files in /system) to use OTA updates.
