Wanted: Silence alarms and sounds for a given time. - Windows Phone 7 General

A great capability would be to have a way to disable all audible alarms and ring tones until a designated time at which they would be re-enabled. This way, you could sleep without being disturbed, and then when you're ready to awake, the phone would also "wake up" and ring, sound an alarm, etc.
Anyone Agree?

Yeah, I've been waiting for something like this also. Like Profiler for Android or G-Profile for WM. Havent seen anything yet and I'm not sure if it's a limitation of WP7 thats keeping these types of apps from being worked on?

Can't you do that with Airplane mode? My phone never makes a beep (other than alarm clocks) since I don't have data connection and wifi is disconnected as soon as the phone goes into sleep.

Watch still rings with phone on vibrate only

OK so I figured if I set my phone volume to vibrate only, like I typically do when I'm in a meeting or at a Dr appointment, that my watch would also change to vibrate only, but it doesn't appear to do so because my watch still rings if I receive a call. Anyone else have this issue? If I set my phone to Do Not Disturb, then it silences my watch, but that also disables vibration which I do not want. I know I can also go into the watch menu and disable sound that way, but I just thought it was suppose to mirror the phone settings.
What about selecting "Sound on/off" from the drop down menu on the watch?

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I have already tried that. It just turns off sounds on the watch and not on the phone.
Sorry to revive a dead thread... going to bump here. But did you ever figure this out? Anyone? Thanks. =)
I was about to start a new thread about this when I found this one. I also want my watch to ring when my phone does and not when my phone is muted. I attend a few events a week where everyone's phone must be muted. I imagine that do not disturb mode would work, but I use vibrate only so I'll at least feel when I get notifications.
If I'm reading this Google article right, this should be possible and automatic: https://support.google.com/androidwear/answer/6056843?hl=en

Android Auto in-car no ringtone for incoming sound

I've noticed that if you have your phone's sound set to vibrate, then there's no ringtone or vibration when you're in Android Auto connected to your vehicle. This wasn't the case with my Nexus 6 on Nougat. Is anyone else experiencing this behavior? The call will be missed if you don't happen to see the call on your car's display screen. The only way to change the volume at this point is to disconnect from AA and set it, then reconnect. I would expect that the phone should defer to the volume set on the car once connected.
Yes. I had a similar situation last night, a text message came in and the only notification was the the on-screen popup. On my last phone it would send a notification via the car speakers.
Try going into the Do not Disturb settings, and under automatic rules, toggle Driving off. I haven't had a chance to test my notifications in the car since turning this off, but I do remember reading about this being a "feature" of Oreo, I think. Seems like a pain in the ass to me.

Android Auto should completely override the automatic driving mode in DND. In reality Android Auto's notification setting should supersede all other notification settings.

do not disturb

Ok do not disturb isn't working under Alarms only or Custom. No exceptions and it turns on but I need to use some options like repeat callers and alarms.
Anyone else have this problem or have a fix or workaround for now ?
I have an S9+, and if I choose the Alarms only exception I get alarms while DND is on. I'll have to try favorite callers or repeat calls at another time.
Looking at this, I realized something that I hadn't noticed before. There doesn't appear to be a way to allow exceptions for favorite callers without also allowing alarms.
If I turn on alarms only and turn on dnd I still get all notifications etc like it isn't turned on.

Mute / DND not working properly

I'm having trouble with both the "mute" sound mode and DND even with no exceptions set. Based on both the manual and the description in the UI they should be muting my media sounds, but they're not. I even rebooted the phone into safe mode and set DND with mute and loaded up web pages and youtube and there it goes playing sounds when my phone shouldn't be making a peep. I did a search for mute and didn't turn up much on the forums. From the S9 user manual it says "Mute: Set your device to make no sounds.", so I take that to include media just like with every other device that has a mute feature.
Has anyone else experienced this, or can replicate by setting their mute & DND then trying to play a youtube video? Before I go through the headache of a factory reset I'd like to confirm if it's just my device. It's really important to me that I'm able to throw my device into silent mode and that it's actually silent and not going to start screaming at max volume if I'm reading the news and it decides to autoplay a video.
DND mutes notifications and ringtones, I'm guessing their wording of also muting media means something other than apps that play music or videos that you manually invoke
Use the media volume control to mute media like that
Well, I was able to solve this with Tasker. I set up a variable watcher on interrupt and whenever it changes away from all it mutes my media volume. The downside is it doesn't appear that Tasker can do anything with the Samsung sound profiles, so I can't actually use the mute option to mute my phone.

[MIUI 13.0.8] Mute notifications, allow calls

Heya,
so, as the title says, I'm having issues muting the notification and app sounds, while still allowing phone calls to get through and ring the phone out loud.
In the past, this was achievable by the Do Not Disturb mode. Right now however, it doesn't mute notifications anymore, as that is now done by the new "silent" mode. But that one also mutes incoming calls, which is completely unusable for me (I have occasional on-call nights when I need to be available on my phone, even if I'm sleeping, yet find the constant pinging of the apps super annoying).
The only working solution I found was to go into notification settings and block notifications from most of the very frequent apps... Which is annoying, as I also have to not forget to toggle the notifications back the next day.
Is there still a way to achieve the "Mute media and notifications, keep calls" combo in Android 12 + MIUI 13? Thanks!
On most phones the phone ringtone and notification volume is separate, is that not the case in your device?

Unfortunately not, instead, I have media, calls and alarm clock (as seen in the screen).
If I mute media, I still get notification and call sounds. If I mute the bell, I no longer get either. Dnd has no effect on the notification sounds.

This certainly sucks, can't every smartphone company share good things from each other instead of adopting all the bad changes. look around on Google maybe there are apps for this.

Hey have you found any solution? As I'm also struggling with same problem
It sucks, but until they fix it, you can use this app.
On the downside, it not only mutes sound, but completely mutes the notification including the badges , though. Anyone please post if you have a better solution.
i know im late. but i found a fix. (kinda) if you remove your notification sound completely. through settings, notifications and vobrations, notification sound and then while in the themes app. ringtone, and then no romg tone. even tho i thaught it changed the ringtone. if you go through settings first. ot will change the notification sound and not the ringtone. hope this helped
While waiting patiently for A13 ROMs for my current daily driver to mature a bit more I am using a silent audio file for the notification sound. I can't believe all these years MIUI still doesn't have an option to unlink calls and notification volume.
