Someone can confirm if Netflix works on Xperia Arc with unlocked bootloader?
As Netflix uses DRM in video encoding, I want to know if the lost of DRM keys on bootloader unlocking afects the Netflix official App on Arc.
Thank you.

1 more question Can I unlock my bootloader while i am at Android version 4.0.4 ?
You can unlock it on any version.
I did search the forum, and found methods for Arc, but none for the Arc S.
Is there any way ?
Also what are the disadvantages of losing DRM? Read somewhere TrackID and Timescape won't work. I can live with that. Anything more ?
timescape work fine in my lt18i with an unlocked bootloader
They use the same methods.

You lose the ability to use things like Trackid
Read from somewhere, that test point method is not supported on Arc S, but is supported on Arc. Someone tell me more.

Official method only works for generic, unbranded phones. If your phone was purchased through a carrier, its bootloader cannot be unlocked.

SETool1 doesn't support the arc s (LT18i), only SETool2 which requires hardware and paid credits.

In short, with the available methods, i'll lose DRM on my LT18i if i unlock the bootloader, right ?
Hello.
I have a Xperia Z1c, bootloader unlocked and rooted, on 4.4.2 (14.3.A.0.757). I tried mirrorlink with my Sony XAV602BT car audio and get an error when connecting (error code 42). It worked with my xperia SP so I don't thing the car unit is faulty.
Do you thing DRM rights may be a cause (I unlocked bootloader) ?
Thanks
Possibly, I can't use NFC with my W9 Bravia and put it down to the fact that my BL is unlocked, where as my locked BL Z had no issues. They do warn you this might happen so can't complain really.
Sent from the app on my Z1C...
no complain at all... just want to know.
I will restore TA and see...
Yep... Coming back to locked BL with TA and mirrorlink works.
Have the same Problem with a Xperia Z1 compact, what is the meaning of TA?
if i unlocked my watch , will i lose DRM keys just like normal sony smartphones ? or it is safe to unlock and relock when i need ?
thanks in advance
There is no DRM partition on the Smartwatch 3, you can unlock and relock as needed with no penalty as far as I can tell.
Ok thanks
Hello, I'm thinking about rooting my firecube which is on fire OS 6 with blocked updates. There's a new root method and bootloader unlock and my ask is, will be on rooted & Bootloader unlocked Cube 2 Netflix work? Because I read that, devices with unlocked bootloaders loose Widevine L1 certification, which is important for services like Netflix is..
