Home screen - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

How do I change the icons at the bottom of the home screen?

Press applications icon> menu button> edit > switch. Press and hold to drag new icons onto the dock like usual.

Go to the applications menu, tap menu, edit and drag out the app you don't want and drag in the app that you want. Then tap menu again and hit save otherwise it won't change the changes that you've made.

Better cut?

How do I use this? Every time I try to make a shortcut it does not appear.

1. long press home screen
2. choose shortcut from the menu
3. choose better cut from this menu
3. once better cut opens, click "installed applications"
4. choose application
5. change name of app if needed, and change display pic if needed (will need icon pack, i prefer glasklart icon pack)
6. click done, or save... w.e. it says at the bottom... the icon shud now be on ur home screen
I tried that and to no avail. It says it added it but it's nowhere to be found..

Dock Apps

Hi guys
I would like to know if it's possible to change the default dock apps....
I would like to replace the message app with chompsms' Is it possible without replacing launcher
Yes you can change the dock icons (except applications I think)
I replaced contacts with "Internet" and messaging with "Music". All done with stock launcher.
How?
Long pressing on any of the docked icons and trying to drag them off does nothing, and you can't drag a shortcut from the home screen on to the dock, either?
EDIT: Got it, had to go into applications and then edit from there. I'm such a tool.

Could you be more specific ? I opened "application" and pressing the dock's app now appear "remove" but even if i drag them...they're still there.
Thank you in advance
1. On Home Screen press "Applications"
2. press "menu" and select edit
3. Now you can drag any app into dock position and replace default icons
3. press "menu" again and select "Save"
All done
Sorry for the OT question, but I think it's related. Can you change icons in the TouchWiz launcher, both the 4 buttons in home and in the "applications" menu? That's my only gripe about it, ugly icons.
yeah the 4 icons at the bottom are part of touchwiz which i havent seen away to replace with other icons yet.
Seen people talking about using a different launcher which i assume is related to this in someway but im not to sure.
Resets
If I change my dock apps, it resets when I restart my phone.
Anyone with a solution?
Thanks
is there a way to mod and put a folder instead of 1 app ?

Did you find a solution?

Great App that allows you to create multiple sofkey shortcuts

I am always looking for Info for good apps, apps that make our phones function even better. Anyways I stumbled upon this app just by doing going through my Apps in the market and finding other apps related or "apps people also installed etc.
It is called home2 home shortcut. What is does it installs as another home launcher but is doesn't replace you current launcher. If you set it as default home it will ask you what launcher you want to use etc. One you do that you can set up the following to open and app and most shortcuts by doing soft key combos
Press home and home again - pick the app that you want to launch when you do the combo
Now click other settings below this above setting
Press home then search key - pick app you want to launch
Press home then back button -pick app etc
Press home and menu button - pick app that you want to launch when you do the combo
Here is a link.

No more menu button, so how do you...

So Google's axing the Menu button and encouraging developers to do the same, and we know moving forward, a lot of OEMs will switch to three button, or buttonless phones.
My question is, how would users, and how do G.Nex owners access this menu from the home screen:
(That's the menu that pops up when you hit the menu button on the home screen on a Nexus S)
Bottom right... The one with three dots. That's our menu button for the Galaxy nexus.

If you pin it to a home screen or to your dock, simply long press until a small window opens next to the app icon. Tap on "edit" to get the Edit Shortcut window to open. Once it does, tap on the icon to select a picture or an icon pack. After selecting a new icon, select "save" and you're done.
WOW That was so cool.
Thanks
