hi,,
i just flashed Android revolution 6.1 ROM on my DHD
everything is working fine but i cant get a gps fix ?? it picks up satellites but cannot provide me a fix ?
i have tried the efs wipe , faster fix etc method, but to no avail
any help ?
---------------------
andrd revolution 6.1.2
3.06.405.1 BUILD
2.6.35.14-rcmix-arhd-5.0--gd85ad63-dirty [email protected] KERNEL
Have you tried doing the method below? It tends to make GPS lock on faster as well as fixing the problem of no satellite lock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1252011
If the problem continues after this, I'd say try doing a wipe (optional I suppose, but I would) and flashing 6.1.3

To be honest it is just what build you would like to use, but I personally prefer the Google specific build. You should only use the world file if your Rom doesn't support the updated version.
The easiest method (in my opinion) is flashing it via clockwork recovery. The steps are:
1. Download a GPS file (I chose the Google specific) and put it somewhere easily accessible on your sd card
2. Reboot into CWR
3. Mount /system/ (go to "Mounts and storage" option, then "mount /system")
4. Flash the GPS file from your sd card
5. Reboot your device
That should be it after rebooting its generally a good idea to get an app called GPS Status and leave it running for 5-15 minutes as the phone needs to get all the GPS data again, which happens the first time you use it. Hopefully it works for you this time
P.s. I'm currently using ARHD 6.1.2 and I haven't had any issues with it yet

try using the latest CWR, it worked perfectly for me. and yeah, 5-15 mins just locked onto some satellites so you don't have to wait long when you really need to use it. It essentially just gets the data for the satellites, as previous data gets removed when you flash the GPS file. It isn't necessary but it is better to do it earlier

I'm sorry that this thread is here again, still unsolved.
But I would really want to use my phone again. I've got nothing ATM.
What I've tried already:
- Every radio version wich can be downloaded for the Kaiser
- 2.6.32 and 2.6.25 Kernel - Latest 2.6.32 kernel with reboot fixes from Clamsyn
- Diffrent Android Builds like 'Fat Free Froyo', 'Not So Super Froyo', 'CM6.1 Gingerbread', 'Clemsyn's Final Froyo' and so on.
- Wi-Fi fixes
- Re-re-re-re-re-installing Android
- Re-re-re-re-re-flashing kernels and radios
The problem explained:
When using any radio/kernel/build my phone reboots every time my Wi-Fi is on.
At first when Android is freshly installed there are no problems at ass when using Wi-Fi, but after a while it starts to reboot as long as the Wi-Fi is on.
The Wi-Fi is on, I've got about 1 à 2 minutes before the phone reboots. After the reboot, the Wi-Fi restores his state from before the reboot. Now i've got about 30 seconds before it reboots again to turn off the Wi-Fi

If there's any more info on my mind I'll post it.
Hope someone's got a fix or solution for this.
Thanks
I had a similar problem, with WIFI and DATA connection, that I solved with:
this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9768617&postcount=63
ROM: Scoot CyanogenMod 6.1 RLS5a
radio: 1.65.16.25
I suggest data on SD card partition for extra stability.

I'll try that and let something know...
I can't seem to find out how to get the data on sdcardpartition...
i'm getting:
Could not determine filesystem size
Failed
Failed to format
blablabla
unmount: can't unmount /data: invalid argument
EDIT: Could be that i did the partition thing wrong. Trying another way ATM
EDIT: Nope doesn't work...
meh i suck
Install everything on NAND just to see if this combination works for you.
It takes a while until it starts to reboot.
Installing right now so... hoping...
Thanks a lot for even taking your time to help me
When this doesn't fix the problem I'm going to upload a small vid showing what it does. So it's easier to understand the problem. Android booted. Now install some apps and reboot and try to make it reboot again
I had a similar problem in the past.
I solved it with a complete install from the htc factory standard windows mobile rom including the radio. After the complete setup and the reboot after the setup you can try to install another radio and the android kernel and rom again.
This solved my problem. And I use the latest 1.71.09.01 radio and I have no problems with it.
Maybe this helps you.

I'ma try that as well. The problem now is: I have 0.00kb total memory and 0.00kb free so... can't install anything
wich radio?
EDIT: or does it come with the rom downloaded from htc website?
What's this thing I keep getting? Like I said in the previous posts, with the Failed, Failed to format
Never had that before lol'd :/
Still no luck. Keeps rebooting :/
Any other ideas???
If you have hard spl installed, then the installation ist really easy. Open the offical "Kaiser_HTC_ASIA_HK_WWE_3.34.721.2.exe" with 7zip and extract the RUU_signed.nbh to the root of your sd card. Then rename it in KAISIMG.nbh.
Manual for flashing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835
---> Flashing Via MicroSD Card
Try it. And I think that you have to make the complete htc first setup process with reboot. My problems were gone after I made this complete setup with the standard htc rom. After that my kaiser was working well. So I installed another radio, kernel and android rom and all was working well after this.
Nope sorry, Tried that yesterday, Still rebooting.
I'm going to post a video wich shows it. Crappy Quality. Shot with my Nokia 3500c so... kind of... yeah...

Did you use BusyBox update that is in the particular thread? I found out, that it fu*ks up everything... messes the keyboard, breaks stability...
I am not using it anymore. Instead I put my apps to the androidinstall.tar file to avoid using newly installed app and it seems to be quite stable for me...
Nope no busybox used :s really ****ed up problem
srry for the language
i did have various probs with sd cards not recognised and failed to format on install.
even trying full format on win 7 and xp didnt help.
i used an sd formater from http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/ and select Full Erase On Format size adjustment on.
then, as if by magic ;-) , android installed. worth a try?
Trying that right now...
Thank you btw
If that works I just need to fix the Wi-Fi problem :s
Whatever I try, using System Recovery/Clockwork Recovery, when I boot up the phone it's still UK 3.4.3-11 Froyo, but now with a red motorola logo (Nordic firmwire I flashed I suppose) .
When wiping in recovery I get these errors: "can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 (File exists)" and "error mounting /sd-ext/!".
I've create a FAT (should this be FAT32?), Ext2 and Linux Swap partition on my SD Card.
My original aim was to install CM7 from Quarx. Here's what I did:
Stock Defy UK (Other than root)
Used clockwork recovery to wipe and update to CM7
Booted fine (CM7/2.3), tried to then install gapps as an update.zip, then got stuck on boot at "M" screen on every boot
Used RSD lite to flash 3.4.3-11 UK with Blur
Superoneclick etc., tried to install CM7 again, had no effect
Used RSD lite to flash 3.4.2_177 Nordic - comes up with red logo, but hasn't updated to the actual blurless froyo
Tried again to install CM7, had no effect, still have the 2 errors on wiping
I've also found that when using stock recovery, it no longer does anything when I press the bottom right of the screen, it just stays at the green robot screen, I have to remove the battery.
I did get an app2sd error, which was why I partitioned the SD card using Clockwork recovery (bad move?), I then did it on my PC instead with an SD card adapter.
The phone's not bricked, since I've got a working 2.2 rom, however I've no clue what I've done to make it like it is now, and I can't install CM7 using clockwork recovery and the default recovery doesn't work.
I think fixing those errors might do the trick? Any help would be appreciated.
I am also not able to install quarx rom, tried several times it does not boot and I had to reflash the sbf to get the phone working. Btw I do no have sd partition.
What I did was from cloclwork I tried restore, shall it be install from zip. No idea why I cannot get it running. I have nordic 005 at the moment

...maybe you guys should start to read a little more before attempting flashing any ROM...
If you would have done that, maybe you would have noticed that some people warned about some mounting of the SD card problems in some instances (I don't remember the specifics at this time..I beleive had to do with Super1click version used to root)
And most importantly:
that for CM7 installation instructions ask you to use '2ndinit' recovery and NOT CWM.... In fact you should even avoid having CWM recovery installed before starting the process...
I'm a noob too guys, I sometimes appreciate the help I can get from a post here. But I try my best to find existing answers and read as much as I can on the subject first. Obviously, you guys did not do your homework on this one.

I did in fact read around before I started, obviously in the wrong places or not enough. I've been pretty naive but all the guides I saw recommended that recovery, I must have missed the posts about 2ndinit (which sounds a lot easier). In fact I hardly read the actual CM7 thread since it's around 190 pages long.
It's interesting you noted superoneclick as the first time it worked and I used z4root.
I think for now I'll just use what I've got, which is ultimately better than what I started with (2.1), it's just a bit worrying as those errors I'm getting seem to suggest I've messed up the internal storage; and the default recovery won't work.
Probably installing a beta CM7 wasn't the best idea anyway since I'm very new to this.
Thanks al
I tried with cw recovery only. Tonight will try with 2ndinit. my sys info nordic 177_005 will I be able to get beta4 straight installing the zip

Some of my apks 'might' not be so 'official' [..let say] and who knows what kind of party they're having in my phone....
I got it working and its quite fast. GPS works for me. Camera photo works but not the video. Will test other later. Quadrant score is very high not sure if it is correct. I got 2200

Hi
I have updated my HTC desire HD to RCX HD Kingdom Rom with Sense 3.0 and After that the phone is very laggy. I know i can use set CPU which may help but i have no idead how to use Setcpu or of there any other solution.
can some one help me with this? I am starting new thread as i cant post in to any thread due to new user policy and i have to have 5 to 10 post to be able to reply to other post.
please let me know, if anyone has solution.
thanks
You can try re flashing again or go back to another ROM
Try reinstall the rom, the phone would be laggy st the first boot or once you restart the phone, but believe me, you would be satisfied

I'm using that ROM right now, and have to say that I am pleasantly surprised at the general speed of the ROM. You may things going on in the background that's causing your experience to be laggy. Wait until all apps re-install and see if it speed up. If all else fails, full wipe and re-install ROM.
hi,experts
i also have one question that after flashing this rom, my DHD get into the loop of rebooting itself.
the steps to flash are as following,
1.copy the ROM to SD card.
2. switch to recovery system.
3. wipe all
4. install for sd card
5. reboot the system.
but after all of the steps, it cant get the OS up.
could you give me some hints to fix the problem?
i heard that it's need to formate SD card for ext4 file system, is it really needed?
thanks in advance.
I've also flashed MDJ's v11 kernel, and using setcpu it's as smooooth as silk

I didn't have to format my SD card. Did you do a wipe using full wipe 1.3?
Could also be a corrupt download, in that case, re-download on pc, then use clockwork mod to mount the SD card and transfer it to your phone again & then try to flash again

I was also very suprised by the quickness of the RCMix Kingdom ROM. Runs soo smooth even tho it has few bugs, but soon everything will be solved and we wil be able to enjoy the ROM to its fullest potential
sorry, may be i cant help you
want to use ,but no well
I have also downloaded and tried this ROM. To original poster: I had the same problem until a reboot and then everything ran smoothly.
Anyway, I would love to report this bug or ask questions in the original thread, but I am not allowed to until I have ten posts. Kind of odd to add incentive to post ten useless replies in another forum. Heh.
Well, I was loving this rom until I realized I had NO cell phone signal. After going to Settings -> Wireless & Networks, the option for Mobilenetwork is grayed out and cannot be clicked on (i.e. nothing happens when clicking.) This is AFTER I choose my carrier (AT&T) and went through the set up choosing an option along the way that says "Wifi and Mobile Network."
So I re-flashed the rom, formatting the system, clearing the cache, clearing the davchek (sorry, forgot the word) cache. Then suddenly everything worked!
So I used the phone the rest of the evening and this morning with no problems when suddenly, I completely lost all cell phone service again (WIFI only works.) Tried restarting, pulling out the sim card, pulling out the battery, switching airplane mode on/off, but it will not work.
Why would my phone suddenly completely lose service for hours and hours?
Also I already sent a PM to the creator of the rom about this, but has anyone tried using the Chinese input with this? I can't get any of the input methods to work. After you type the pinyin, or strokes, etc, a box should pop up giving you choices of characters. The box won't pop up, so you can't pick a character, and the end result is that you can't type Chinese.
Other than that and the complete loss of service, I was loving this rom. Any help/idea would be appreciated. Thanks.
i had the same issue as the previous person & did exactly the same so far not had it happen again. I'll monitor though. Generally the rom does seem a little slow. But its far from a final release so i'm more then happy with this rom.

Same problem as me?
I just re-flashed. It connected to ATT, but the next time I restarted the phone, all service is gone. No way to get it back. Flashing back to an old rom. Hope someone can figure this problem out.
I'm using this ROM now, I really very satisfy this one even found some bugs, but it can acceptable
I'm having real trouble with installing these roms.(insertcoin 1.0.8 and rcmixS V2.0)
What I've done so far.
Rooted with unrevoked.
Created ext3 partition using gParted.
Successfully installed rom to working.
To get it working, I have to revert to my stock backup and then copy over the top of the data etc.
Problems once working:
1) Mail app refuses to connect to active sync server and pull down mail, I've reverted to my stock backup and copied the settings to the letter and it still refuses to connect and get the mail
2) Contacts, HTCContacts will not display my contacts or let me access their cards, however shows their details in call log including FB picture.
I want to wipe everything and do it from scratch, however I get stuck on the wallpaper and notification bar and it won't load the rest of sense so it's completely unusable.
I know my ext3 partition works correctly as I've installed loads of apps etc when i got it working and quick system info registered my partition of 1gb ext3.
Try to clear storage from hboot, and flash the latest radio the last thing worked for me

I'm happy for you that you managed to do it, it looks like a simple fix, but it's one of the things that can brick your device easily so be careful when you flash radio's, always charge you battery full if you'll ever have to do it again(not that it will use up all of it just for safety)
Fyi, I used clear storage. I'm still on stock radio and hboot.

Hello,
sorry if u will find this thread to be repeated, but I was searching so much, and nothing helped me. After all, I think you are my last chance.
So to the problem:
One day I rebooted my Desire Z - rooted, CyanogenMod 7.2.0 RC# ( # is number can't remember which one - 2 or 3). Then I haven't paid attention to it and when I came home I noticed that phone is turned-off. So I turned it on: HTC white screen with green htc logo, CM loading screen and PIN code screen. So i entered PIN everything started loading ( i mean icons in notification bar appeared ) and then it happened: reboot. So again: logo, CM screen, PIN. I was bit slow so I didn't manage to enter PIN code and phone rebooted again. So it appears like it reboots in periods. So I start searching around the internet. I tried some things which I knew how to do, but I always found some problem. For example I can't mount USB storage while in CWM v5.0.2.7.
It appears to be boot loop, but I am not sure because I got to entering PIN code.
Help me, pls... I'm clueless.
P.S.: Sorry for my english, it's not my native language.

Umm, don't do that ^^^^^
But it does look like you have some serious issues, try this, boot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik, now flash cm7 on top of it
If it still is causing issues then you need to do a full wipe (even better if you super wipe or fastboot -w)
Then flash ROM of choice, cm7 is great and there are many good Roms based off of cm7 I would also recommend, elitemod or ilwt for a couple nice options

I am at work right now and I left phone at home, but I can tell you I tried wiping cache. Problem appeared when I showed log of this wiping and there was something like app2s something with partitions or something like. I already formatted my card in PC (FAT32, not quick format, non-USB card reader - normal one). Should I try different card (card is gold card CID-11111111 (i don't know how many ones ))?
And if I will try what strip419 said, could something possibly happen to my phone ( in wrong way)?

I wouldn't bother with reflashing the hboot, I would try more 'non-destructive' solutions first.
Reflashing thé hboot is thé only way to format all partitions do away with any thing that could be doing this of cos you could brick your phone but if you follow rules its gonna be okay if you have adk on your pc then you could use the command tool to clear this but that could do worse damage if you are a noob so its up to you man try or keep looking for a. You can flash recovery from fastboot or via PC10IMG.zip the same way doing a hboot reinstall would work, except in this case you don't go to such extremes to do the entire hboot over again, just the recovery and go from there. If it's an ENG hboot can use fastboot directly to flash the recovery.img, otherwise you pack it into a PC10IMG.zip and place it on the SD card.
Worse case scenario, the internal memory is fried, and attempting to do a full hboot reinstall would most likely brick it as opposed to only trying to flash a portion.
I had a repetitive reboot issue when flashing a previous ROM as well.
My noob solution was to put PC10IMG.zip back on the SD card, boot to recovery using ADB and then going through the whole process of reinstalling hboot and putting on a known ROM. Didn't brick mine and I'm new to this...
Could have done with finding this forum earlier.
all should know to be careful doing that method, if it were a stock rom and you simply flashed the pc10img.zip with radio hboot, etc in it you could get a brick easy, especially if you don't have a working rom with adb functionality.
what would happen would be (this is if you have eng s-off as most root users do) your phone would begin by flashing the bootloader, after this it would reboot and attempt to flash flash the radio, only problem is the new hboot would be ship s-on and therefore would get stuck, leving you a soft brick with a little luck it would be possible to fix this but it could be that it is unfixable depending on the exact circumstances
all this is just to say be careful what you do, noob or not, if you aren't 100% sure what you are doing when flashing firmware a brick is easy

I have a similar problem but not sure if it's the same one... When I boot up my phone it goes through all the boot images fine, but when it starts it starts sometimes with my background showing and sometimes in a blank screen but both saying Android System at the top then shortly after shut down (usually shows shutting down not just straight up turns off) I have flashed new roms, reflashed backups, even got a jelly bean rom to go through the optimizing apps screen thing then would go to a blank screen with Android System on top again, and shut down.
Any help would be amazing! I've had my G2 since it's release and would hate to think it ran out of hearts :crying:

I also have the same problem. I attempted to use superwipe g2 to no avail.
I have clockwork recovery installed, and every custom rom I try to use seems to crash 5-10 seconds after finishing to loading screen for say cm7 or cm9.
I do not have a goldcard so am wondering what the best course of action would be. I am reluctant to follow the Hboot advise as the risks mentioned seem great.
everyone having these issues should go to irc freenode #g2root (just google it) and can receive real time help there. there are too many possiblities of what is going wrong and not enough information being given to help here well.
once things are figured out and all is working post back here to explain what the problem/fix was so future people finding this thread may have an easier time

What is the hboot way? What does that do? I'll try it, my G2 is already useless now, anything that will fix it including a dangerous way tell me
well hboot (also known as bootloader or spl) is sorta like bios on a pc. but I don't suggest trying anything rash and can't help much unless I know paticulars of your situation, if you give that I can see what I can do, but like I said before if you would like some realtime help go to freenode.
if you want help here give me details, what exactly is your problem, what have you tried to do to fix it, what method specificaly did you use to obtain root, write down everything on your hboot screen (again you get there by holding volume down while powering on)

Well I bought this phone at a swapmeet last year for 40 bucks. Everything worked and it was on gingerbread last year. In a week I googled and found a way to root by using the thread here in the forum by using adb and downgrading to froyo which was a pain for a noob using adb I just add lol, I was on elitemod gb for many months, until I was playing music a few days ago it just rebooted itself and it wouldn't boot correctly. Here's how it goes, htc white screen, boot animation, then it says android system on the top left and all black under and it shuts itself off. EVERY rom I have flashed it does that, I wiped completely and use the superwipe g2+ and still no dice. I couldn't find the 4ext recovery, I need it as a flashable zip to try it.
not really you should be able to flash it via fastboot (which is my opinion the prefered way anyhow) just google search for the image.
but I still need to know what is on your hboot screen or I can't help much further
