[Q] Enable CRT off animation?? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OK, so I read that on GIngerbread, the Arc S has the cool Android CRT off screen, however I can't seem to show it on my new Arc S.
It's running Android 2.3.4, specifically 4.0.1.A.0.266
Do I need something newer to get it? (checking for updates offers me nothing).
What do the 4.0.2.xxx releases do for me? And what one for a UK SIM-Free handset?
Thanks.
SO far VERY pleased with the phone, it's awesome... (Although not too keen on Timescape UK, Launcher Go EX fixed that thou!)

The CRT animation is no longer available since 2.3.4.
sbong had previously modded the 2.3.2 firmware to include the animation but mentioned here that he is unable to do the same for the 2.3.4 firmwares as the animation files seems to have been changed. You might want to ask him again.

If your using go launcher ex just select tv in the effects settings menu for whichever screen you want to use that effect on..

I don't think so. At least, not until either Sony implement it themselves or someone gets it working on an AOSP build.
It relies on the Samsung framework which you won't find in any phone other than a Samsung.
Do some ROM does have this feature / option? If some room (to xperia play) that it had I can copy the 2 files:
system\lib\libsurfaceflinger.so
system\lib\libsurfaceflinger_client.so

how to change home in cyanogen mod 9

i want to use xperia s home.apk but i cant change it on cyanogen mod (it uses trebuchet as default)
can anyone explain me how can i change it?
thanks!
(should i only rename home.apk to trebuchet.apk? jaj)
"i cant change it on cyanogen mod" is a bit vague - u gotta explain your problem...
r u sure installing unsigned apps is enabled?
Is the xperia s home not dependant on stock firmware? If so then you can't use it on cm9, aokp, miui etc. There's an xperia home for any rom in Android general, if that's any use.
install the apk or if you already did go to Trebechuet launcher in settings n pick clear defaults

[Q] Customization on Arc/ Arc S

Hi! Brothers and Sisters......
Good day to you from Myanmar.:fingers-crossed:
I'd like to know how to customize my arc S?
Don't want to use any custom ROM or something custom. I already tried and using the following:
1. Xperia S Live with Walkman port
2. Notification Toggle port
3. Default Themes change
4. Infinite View change
5. Onscreen button (already tried, but not work)
6. Xperia S Launcher (already tried but not using now)
So.... how can I customize or port something another great to my stock rom .587, Unlockedbootloader? Any great things left to add to my devices?
And also with stock firmware .587, my wifi signal is frequently lost especially when i enter to new address or new download even I stay beside the router. How can I fix this as Sony still don't fix that problem?
Thanks in advance for reading and your advices.
Sorry for my poor English language which makes you to fell something uncomfortable.
Have a nice day to all of Members and Guest. :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
You'll need to learn to theme and/or develop.
Sent from my CM9'd Arc

[Q] Changing the startup logos and softkeys (on Cyanogen 10.1.2)

Hi all
I've just flashed CM10.1.2 without issue, and I have to say that I'm MUCH happier with this than on stock. The interface is just so much smarter and the options are far improved from stock too.
However, I'd like to change the Free Xperia logo and Cyanogen Mod logos back to the stock Sony ones, if possible. Can I do that?
Also, can I change the softkeys (back, home and app switcher) back to the Xperia buttons instead as well. Can I do that too? The stock Google ones are too big and ugly for my liking.
Thanks as always,

To change the boot splash screen requires the boot image to be unpacked and modified which, although not difficult. requires the ability and know-how to do it. There are many guides to this and Doomlord has published something along these lines for previous 2011 Xperias amongst others.
The CM boot animation is in /system/media. I guess that if you have to ask this, you have little idea of how to modify or change this yourself and are therefore at the mercy of a prebuilt boot animation from the many sources on XDA.

Yes, you're right. I was hoping there'd be a good guide somewhere, as well as the location of the stock bootup animation (and splash screen) for the ZL.

A70 UI downgrade

Hello.
A70 android 9.0
UI 1.1
- great fight icons hi.
After the last system update, the Samsung boot screen was updated to version 10.0.35.14
I previously had 10.0.10.46
At 10.46 you could freely modify the screen (even through dpi or grid in the screen settings)
I uninstalled the applications in the Play store, turned off the phone base.
I downloaded the older version I'm interested in and when I try to install, "application not installed" pops up
I want the power to freely modify the screen, appearance and icons. I know that the solution to my problem is this particular application. (Rather its last update)
1. Will anyone tell me how to install an older version of the system application?
2. I don't have root, I didn't mean anything on this phone.
The phone is relatively fresh so it will probably receive updates. It would be nice to keep the updates possible. Is it possible to upload an older version of the system? Does it mean that I won't be able to update later?
Is it enough to do root to install the older UI 10.0.10.46 and install?
Best regards.
You mean the One UI launcher, right?
Just replace it with a better one like Nova Launcher. It'll. Do everything you want
