Computer doesnt recognize fastboot - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Arc is unlocked and able to boot into fastboot, i connected it to my laptop and it could not install the drivers. After which i looked in device manager to see it there, but i could not find it. Now whenever i plug in my arc in fastboot, there is no icon that says that the driver could not be installed.
Help?
Edit: And to addon to that, when i try to flash boot.img it says FAILED Remote: invalid image format

Use the drivers found here:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-unlock-bootloader-xperia-arc-play-neo-pro/

I am and when i try to flash boot.img it says FAILED (remote: Wrong Range)

[Q] Clockworkmod Recovery and CM6 does not work

Hi there,
I consider myself a semi-noob, being an IT Analyst, I know a lot about computers, but this is a bit of foreign territory for me, since I got my Android phone only few month ago.
Anyways, I am looking for help with the following problem
Using ROM Manager I've installed ClockworkMod Recovery, and CM6.1 on my rooted HTC Desire. Beforehand I've backed up my phone.
The problem, CM6.1 does not load and is stuck on the flash screen.
Clockworkmod Recovery mode does not work either, when selecting recovery, it give me the picture of the phone and the triangle. Fastboot works though.
When on CM6 flash screen, I can connect to the phone using ADB, but in read-only, thus I cannot mount my SD card, and cannot do anything productive.
When in fastboot mode, I can connect to the phone with fastboot.
There I've tried a lot, with no luck yet.
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.7-bravo.zip
gives me
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
fastboot flash system system.img
gives me
FAILED (remote: data length is too large)
But I think even if the system.img wasn't too large it would give me signature verify fail
I've found out that to fix signature verify fail problem I need to update SPL first. I know it could be risky, and I wonder if there is any other and simpler way to fix it.
So basically I have CM6 that does not boot, recovery mode that does not doot, full system backup on SD card (and on PC of course), adb in read-only, and working fastboot.
What are my options?
Any help would be appreciated.
Another thing I've tried
fastboot boot recovery.img
gives me
FAILED (remote: not allowed)

Fastboot problem "Wating for device"

Hi
I was whit cm7 and flashed other stuff before and got no problems whit FastBoot. I flashed r800a_2.3.3_US Generic.ftt whit flash tools. And i wanted to go back to cm7 and when i enter "fastboot flash boot boot.img" i got the menssage "Wating for device" and nothing happens. I`ve tried whit a lot of drivers and nothing seems to work. When i connect the Phone in fastboot mode in the device manager name the device as "SEMC Flash device". Any help would be appreciated.
When i Flash the 2.3.3 ftf using FlashTool it says "Error Flashing. Aborted"

Failed to open usb master mode.

I have read lots of threads with the same error, but, after trying various methods, none of it worked for me...
Yesterday I upgrade my hboot from 1.12 to 1.39 (CID BSTAR301).
The firmware is for my CID, but not the same carrier.
So I relock the bootloader, flash firmware.zip on fastboot, unlock the bootloader again....
Until this, everithing was ok, but when I tried to install a rom, I can't access the sdcard via CWM....
Reboot again to fastboot, and I get the error Failed to open usb master mode.
With adb I push Sky Dragon Rom, but I can't access my sdcard from the rom, neither the pc...
I've tried:
- reflashing the firmware
- fastboot oem format (invalid command)
- reflashing everithing
- Use go-mtpfs
And nothing, I just can't access my sdcard, and I don't have a RUU tu reflash it...
Does anyone have any other suggestion???
Thanks in advance...
BTW, the hboot update was succesful, my HOX is now on hboot 1.39
The failed usb master mode error when you enter the bootloader is because the cable is connected. Remove the cable and try all things again.
Now for the sdcard acces, what happens when you mount the sdcard as a diskdrive inside the recovery ?
Try this :
Flash a new custom recovery
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot erase cache
http://db.tt/z07vyksQ
Try this one (rename it to recovery.img)

First, thanks for the answer..
I can mount the 2gb internal memory, but I can't access my 32gb sdcard...
It happens with the old recovery (CWM), and with the new one....
Also, when the phone boots up completely have the same issue...
Yesterday I was trying to send some files via airdroid, but It says that I can't.
Even if I try to format the sdcard, get an error...
Also, adb pus file sdcard pushes the file to the internal memory, not the external one
Strange ! So you select in the recovery the mounts & storage menu - mount as usb storage (last option in the list) nothing comes up in windows ?
Try it with another pc ! Original usb cable, no usb hub ?

Sorry, didn't try to mount...
After checking it works now, thanks a lot...
I'm thinking in post the firmware to update and this solution, if you agree
Yeah why not ....but mounting the sdcard as an usb diskdrive is standard for at least a year already
All good now ? Good
CASE CLOSED !
I have the same issue, ... but the link is dead ::

Could you repost it, or put it in google drive, etc. ??? or just tell me which Custom Recovery was ... that worked for that matter please ... =D

The HOX is not S-OFF you need to flash boot.img from fastboot with the command fastboot flash boot bootname.img where bootname is your name of boot.img. Just download fastboot and extract the zip file to c:\fastboot then open cmd go in fastboot with your phone, take the boot.img from your rom.zip paste it in c:\fastboot and then run the command

Xperia M C1905 Single Sim - flash recovery is impossible, why?!?

I want to install recovery image to my phone. I don´t know if it´s broken or bricked or something so please help me! :/
I can start my phone but I can´t access the recovery menu/mode and the whole thing stuck at the sony boot image :/
But I can hold the volume down or the volume up key and connect it to the pc with adb drivers and adb minimal + fastboot and both are working! One shows a blue LED, the other shortly a blue and green led, after that nothing.
My bootloader is unlocked
I can enter fastboot and flash mode (is it calling like this?)
When I try to install recovery via adb command "C:\adb>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" this error appears:
Code:
sending 'recovery' (9292 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.594s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.594s
And if I write "fastboot devices" my device is shown up, so the drivers are installed right?
So my phone won´t boot, I have no recovery to flash new images and no rom installed. Please help me, thanks!!!

Can you specify which recovery are you trying to flash?
And are you sure your bootloader is unlocked?
And if nothing works, then also you can flash stock rom using flashtool.
I got it. I used the Flashtool by Androxyde and flash the twrp recovery (nicki version) as Kernel. Then I restart my phone and it boot up in the recovery.
Now I have installed the custom rom, clear cache and userdata etc.
After that I reboot and the custom rom was installed

Question FAILED (remote: 'Unrecognized command boot')

Hello all together,
I recently have the problem that the fastboot boot "img" command gives me the error: FAILED (remote: 'Unrecognized command boot').
I had updated to Magisk 26.0 last week and later to 26.1. Unfortunately, Comdirect with Magisk 26 recognizes the root and refuses the service. So I wanted to downgrade again to Magisk 25.2.
I downloaded the patched 25.2boot.img from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...oos-13-f21-f75.4252373/page-109#post-88329359.
The 9Pro is recognized in Windows 11. ADB devices command recognizes it as well. Also the command fastboot devices is executed and shows the 9Pro as detected.
If I now try to boot the boot.img it is successfully copied but aborted with the error "FAILED (remote: 'Unrecognized command boot')".
The same happens via Live LinuxMint and via rootTerminal.
Boot.img is successfully copied but aborted with the same error.
This is really strange because 3 weeks ago I switched to A13 and successfully patched the Boot.img.
Also I had not installed/uninstalled or changed any programs, drivers or anything else on my pc in that time.
I have also tried all USB ports and different cables, all without success.
Use the cmd not the power shell and open the cmd from adb platfrom tools folder

Update the android platfrom tools
Like i said. They are the newest i use.
From here https://developer.android.com/tools/releases/platform-tools
Using the latest OnePlus USB drivers with " disable signed drivers" for windows? And I would change the 25.2boot.img to just boot.img. the extra period may be causing an issue...just my thoughts.
If you want change kernel you have to flash it via "fastboot flash boot magisk.img". You cannot directly boot other kernel with "fastboot boot magisk.img". This command is used for booting recovery without flashing it.
I dont want to flash a kernel. I want to boot temp root with the patched magisk image and then flash it via magisk.

And you can boot other kernel with fastboot boot (when the Other kernel is a full img)
When this is your boot.img than you can it flash direct no need boot this image

I mean i could. But like all the tutorials and how to guides say that booting temp root and flashing it with magisk is the safest way.
And it did it this way like a million times before. And now i get this strange error that i dont understand why it is happening.
Edit:
The fastboot flash command works just perfectly fine. But not the fastboot boot command?
