Hi guys! I would like to known from you some impressions about the arc..i'm an x10 user and i love the arc but i know that its hardware is just a little bit outdated compared to new dualcore phone..anyway i saw that are available some kernel to overclock cpu up to 1.86 and many other features! So i would like to know if you think that is a good idea to switch to the arc or wait to buy another new phone??from x10 to arc is a big step or not?
Thanks a lot guys
Best regards
Francesco

I'd say just get one of the dual cores out there. Plus their RAM and internal memory are bigger than Arc. I myself is leaning towards htc sensation as my next fone and handover my Arc to my mrs. Although Arc is not so bad in normal usage like surf, chat, music n movie. It's just that it's becoming boring at least for me as there's no other ROM to try out at the moment considering most of the users are bootloader-unlocked. Cyanogen is under development though.

For day to day use it's great, but if you want to play the latest games in a few months and want the highest benchmark scores go and get something else.
Atm everything works smooth on it.

As I've said many a time, the Arc is the best single-core handset on the planet.
Whether that's enough for you is something you and only you can decide.
Thanks guys for your opinions..

Has anybody converted his Arc to Arc S ??
Wotanserver says you can flash an Arc S firmware to and Arc phone, but I have not tested it yet. Has anybody had the guts to try ??
Also, and as long as I understand (please correct me if I'm wrong), the only difference between the Arc and Arc S is firmware (same chip, just overclocked)
Arc S has different processor.

I'm gonna dig deeper into that "T" difference
if im not mistaken the only difference are their clock speed.
Is that really a difference?
Just flash Arc firmware on Arc, oc to 1.4GHz and voila --> Arc @ Arc S

Other than the overclocked chip, no
14.4Mbit/s antenna in the Arc S is a difference

It just means that it's been "factory overclocked", tested extensively in higher frequencies.

hi
a lot's of people does not understand your question......
can The ARC-s bsband (Kernel , etc) flashed to an ARC to use (cheat) the ARC hardware for ARC S ?
i think this can be reality - BUt maybe nobody have flashed the arc S FW to and ARC to try it. ?!?!?
Arc with Arc S kernel will still boot @ 1GHz
Just use Doom's kernel and oc it, best and easiest way.
I know that the Arc S has the same CPU as Arc, just tested at higher frequencies, but why can almost every Arc S run stable @ 2GHz and just a few Arc?

Not really, but... ok!
they have different touchscreen and display drivers. the partitions of ROM are different. so you probably cannot flash ftf bundle for arc s on arc. get prerooted arc s stock rom zip and put it on arc. take oc kernel fron doom, patch up the baseband too if you want.

i think the "T" in the cpu name means that arc s cpu is an upgraded version of the arc cpu. they must have add something on the hardware, not just overclocked by software. that's why it's more stable at higher clock (2GHz).
besides the cpu, everything looks the same to me
se dev relations manager "kalle d" said on the ics alpha thread that arc and arc s have diff partition tables and diff display drivers.

Would you say arc knight is better than Sirkays?
can i use the roms of xperia s on xperia sl ????
do u recommend to buy the xperia sl ??
Buddy, Search before post. There is many thread answered same question.
XSL is just overclock to 1.7. And XSL has bluetooth 3.0. There is nothing else different between XS and XSL. You can install XS ROM on XSL. Is it same price on your place? If not I don't think it is needed to buy just for 0.2mhz.
