you should use http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen and try yourself, it's fairly easy and can be a bit addictive...

[q] [?] cm6 2.2.1

Okay I noticed on the new nightlies (cm6) say anderiod version 2.2.1 thats because the original platform is from the Nexus (FRF91) which had an update (FRG83) now Im having problems with Themes. Even thru Theme Porter, does anyone else experience these issues or can I get some suggestions or tips for me? Thx in advance to helpful ppl.
Apparently there was a change with the framework-res file.
this happens frequently to nightlies.you must apply your theme edits to the new framwork.apk, resign it,place back in theme, resign theme, then flash.

2.3.4 XXJVP? no one?

HI,
i searched this forum but it seems no one has talked yet about the 2.3.4 Version xxjvp.
How is this?
I'm down loading it.
Its talked about in the general section as its not actual development by us, rather by Samsung.
Wrong section and pointless thread.
Normally everyone goes crazy about a new firmware.
And the rom makers start to adapt their roms.
I just wondered why it isn't like that with this new and first 2.3.4 firmware
Hi, look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14574743#post14574743
Its 2x faster then 2.3.3. with some operation.
Try to recovery apps by titanium backup, awsome !
Take Dark core 2.7, install busy box and super user.
And enjoy

Upgrading Xperia X10 to ice cream sandwich?

Hi all
It has bee a while since my last post. But I hope you can help me to know in this new one.
I have an Xperia X10 with android 2.3 but lately it is very slow in almost everithing, e.i: at the moment to write some text, to make a call, etc. and I was thinking to re-flash it to Andorid 2.3 again to make it faster.
However, I saw that a new Android was released. The Andoid 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). So, I was wondering if is there already a version to this Android for the Xperia X10?
If so, could you give me a url where I can download it?
I've flashed my Xperia X10 the last time, however I'm not sure if for the new Android the steps to follow are different.
Any clue, you can write would be helpful.
Thanks in advance
Hi there. Think this may be what you are looking for. It's still in development. Tried it on my Xperia Pro however, there are still issues with WI-FI here on the CM9 ROM. Went back to CM7 until this is sorted out. You will find CM7 and CM9 ROM's here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445819
Note: if CM9 doesn't work out then, you could always reflash the boot. You will have to do that anyway before putting any of these ROM'S on. You are best to flash the boot.img each time you change out from CM7 to CM9 etc. Once you have flashed the boot.img then, it's the usual routine. Boot into Clockwork Mod and take it from there. Freel free to give me a shout if you need anything else.
From what I know, Android 4 isn't fully supported on the Xperia X10, it will run but many features won't work (for example, the camera).
I'd suggest you to do some research (Google is your friend... oh and XDA) before upgrading. It might make your phone even slower.

Go to the X10 Android dev page http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=617
Youll find all roms there but any ICS (miui or cm9) the camera and hotspot is not working. I have had personal use with DiXperia 7 'Avenger', ***FeraLab*** and M&M`S MiUI ROMs and they are all great. My favorite is M&M`S MiUI and it is what Im using right now but they are all fast

[Q] GB vs GB root vs ICS

Hello,
Had a quick question for anyone willing to give me a bit of feedback. I've been thinking about rooting my Xperia Play. I'm hesitant only because I don't want to get it if the functionality of ICS will be much of an improvement, if at all.
Should I stay with Gingerbread and wait to upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich or should I root now and wait till the root for ICS is available in the future? I've been reading the forums here and found plenty of people trying the Beta ICS and it seems like it depends on the person whether they are fond of it or not. I'm certainly not wanting to Beta test ICS.
I'm looking for a kick in the right direction. I mean, I know I can unroot the phone if necessary I've seen forums about such, but it seems like an ordeal to root and then just to undo the root and I can tend to be a bit lazy. So should I stick with plain Gingerbread, wait to upgrade to ICS, or go and root my phone for the boost now in terms of power?
I use my Xperia Play as a phone, emulator, music player, and for general apps. Basically, just general recreation and it can certainly feel slow when just pulling up my texts on my phone. Let me know what you think is best.
Why would you need to unroot to upgrade to ICS? Just root now and upgrade when ICS is stable
An ordeal to root? The rooting methods are 1-click, it couldn't be easier

Asking too many questions. If you wanted it, you would know you want it and you would have done it by now.
Stick with what you have. Wait for the official update. It'll be along soon I am sure

If you use DoomKernel with either the Official Sony Beta ICS or KA12 ICS beta roms you have Root.... if you flash KA12 it auto roots on install.....just FYI

Don't think one click rooting methods are available if he is on the latest firmware..
correct me, if im wrong..
Gonna comment to the OP's question about the speed difference as someone who has now tried (1) the standard GB rom (on verizon, so 2.3.3), (2) a super-fast GB replacement (Cola), (3) the Sony stock ICS beta, as well as (4) a custom rom based on the ICS beta....
IMO aside from a couple of very specific cases (email on GB releases really slowing the phone down when connected to Exchange ActiveSync, for one), no version of ICS will ever be able to match the speed of GB on this phone. I'm sure that some custom ICS roms will be great, but a custom GB rom built for speed will still be able to win in the end.
I could not help but upgrade to ICS lol, My boot loader has been unlocked since the day I bought it but when the Beta was released and they made progress on it (WiFi, and stuff) I just could not help myself , Once you remove bloatware its really stable and smooth.

[Q] Themes for unrooted and stocked ROM

Hi Guys,
I have a Note2 running on 4.1.2. I am not interested in rooting the phone ( as I dont want to lose my warranty ) but I am tired of the theme of the phone.
I had a look at the theme section of this forum but almost all the themes which I looked into were designed for custom Roms on rooted phones. I was wondering if getting a new theme on unrooted phone is possible and if yes, how..
Cheers,
K

It would be nice mate
in the mean time you can install nova/apex and install a theme from the market for these 3rd party launchers, that would revamp a little the stock look

I know flashing would be good..I used to flash my old cell..but since I bought SGN2, i havnt thought of flashing ( partly bcoz d interface IS good and partly coz of the warranty getting void)....but now with 4 months of warranty left, i've decided to leave it and will flash only after the warranty period is over.
anyways, coming back - i've heard great reviews of nova but people still stick to stock launcher as they say its as good as nova..I'll try nova and see how I find it...
Isn't there a single theme which would run on stock rom with unrooted phone??
