Any Dev's want to take a whack at this? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HAKA made an ICS ROM/PORT for the Nexus S, any Play devs out there think we can tinker with this so it can work on a rooted play? If so here's the link *fingers crossed*
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313337

There are only emulator ports at the moment so theres not really any point in porting it atm, its kinda just for fun.
Im no dev but I would wait for the source to be released first.

[Project] Ubuntu Nexus [CDMA]

So I have decided to take on putting ubuntu on the galaxy nexus. I am using a reconstructed img based on the HD2's build. To Start i will be using the same methond to boot ubuntu nativly on the nexus s. So this thread is to keep people updated on whats going on. just so everyone knows since i am busy with other projects there will be no eta. Once finished i will start a dev thread under the Galaxy nexus CDMA Development section.
UBUNTU NEXUS
UPDATE Progress
Working on kernal and recompiling a boot.img
Also If anyone is willing to help please let me know Shoot me a PM. If your interested in testing the builds also PM me,

Good luck with this. I will be following even though I dont have any interest in having Ubuntu on my phone unless maybe in a dual boot function.
Well eventually thats what im shooting for.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889433 <-- this is the thread for the hd2
but eventually once a stable build is created i want to have dual boot feature so.
Hoping the best for this with dual boot, thanks in advance for your efforts

This will be fully native right? As opposed to ones that use a vnc server/client?

Erm... "kernel"
why just because you can? i will follow this for knowledge but don't see the point ... isnt ubuntu making a moblie version of the os themselves with a possible hardware phone too? i dont think it really has a place ... never the less i wish you good luck
ubuntu would be best for tablets not phone imo
I'm not putting a desktop version of Ubuntu on the phones. And yes but its based on android GUI and android code. I am doing this because it becomes an option..... something different . And I had an hd2 the idea itself and the actual build was pretty interesting. But think about a mobile true Linux device. All the possabilities

Also I want to make point of this Ubuntu mobile OS will be similar to android with an effing unity interface. Personally I hate the unity interface. By porting Linux Ubuntu this opens the doors for things like idk for ex programming custom gui's. Ha aha if somebody wishes a true mobile hacking unit lol not that I support this fashion of hacking. But again its DIFFERENT. But all in due tine need to get through my exams

Also, provide kernel source and headers so if anyone who wants to build new modules/drivers it will be easier!
I would look at Backtrack-ARM too. I am running it in chroot but having native would be awesome! If we can find elite engineers to convert our broadcom wifi and make it monitor/injection working would be like the n900 but with way more power and bigger/better screen for mobile pentesting!

Jelly bean :D / I (almost) broke my phone :'(

If you don't already know jelly bean was released at Google recently. The source code isn't yet available for the public so I have decided to see what I can get working from the SDK (until the source comes out) as a little project.
On an extreme downside I broke 1/3 (the middle) of my phones touch screen by water damage - so... bummer. :'(
EDIT: It's been in dried rice for a good 4 hours now... time to test :/
EDIT2: THE RICE WORKED! - My touchscreen is now back to it's good, working state
Try porting the sdk? Good luck, it will be compiled for armv7 so pretty much impossible. Only porting via source is possible unless you are some hardcore machine code hacker!

Hahaha good luck to you on the work once the sources are released jelly bean is a nice upgrade, I espically love the "smart" app updates! Hopefully it shouldn't take too long as most of the base would be ICS which we already have running on our phone with a few minor bugs

I already dumped the system myself. But it refuses to boot. An error system errors out basically. Silly armv7 bins on an armv6 phone don't work so I use ics ones. That causes major errors apparently.

Think of it this way: the JB source code will be pushed to AOSP sometime after the Nexus 7 releases. So that means mid July at the earliest.
Then, from there, depending on the code and difficulties migrating, it could take a day, just as much as it could take a month. I'm not a developer so I can't accurately judge when we might be seeing something, but that's the best guess I can come up with.

Source was released right when it was announced at Google IO.
It just might require different drivers. Im not sure though of the changes.

Source has not been released yet. What was released was the SDK so that app developers have a couple weeks before JB gets released to the masses.
