Hey there,
just tried the new google music app introduced by today's I/O Conference.
(In case you cant download on the market due to regional settings try to search for the apk by twitter)
One thing I realized was that the application is incredible slow, sluggish and makes the desire feel like an old device that is not capable of the requirements of the new ice scream sandwich android release.
What do you think? In case the whole OS is sluggish as the music app the days of the desire seem to be over.
Regards
I used out both on my tab, and desire ! I'm not finding any lag what so ever! In fact it's bloody smooth
Tab - android 2.2
Desire - RCMix S - android 2.3.3
Edit: my only complain is there are no lockscreen controls

For root users who can't find it, use market enabler, and you'll be able to find it
CANADA FTW!!

Not really, the details in the Manage Apps list aren't accurate, Angry Birds takes up 17Mb but only shows as 384Kb
im running devnull myself, probably the fastest and cleanest rom around with the best performance. nevertheless you can see that the animations etc. are NOT fluid. I dont think anybody can deny that.

Hey,
Have you installed some background music enhancer.. in my case installing livefx was slowing the app down. Now it is up in flames

+1
i think its also pretty damn useless comparing to the other music apps on the market which have tons of useful settings etc
installed to try out the cloud which doesnt work anyway so it is a completely useless app for me

Thx, Danny.
Sluggish here in a Nexus One stock 2.3.4
got this on my desire and the xoom
my music beta website works fine, sync'd up some songs from the pc.
but can't seem to access the cloud songs on my phone/xoom
any idea how to authorize the phone device for the google account on the phone/xoom?
set it all up last night but still no sign of it working on my phone or xoom
Im trying to build a list of the most used apps
not games
I'm currently working on a personal project and I need a list of apps that I need to modify to streamline into my rom
I'm asking you XDA what apps would you like to see in a rom
Note: all apps must be free I'm not dealing with lawsuits

I'm Manning this for a list that I will keep updated

Set DNS .... there is a $4.99 app called Masked Crusader but I don't see it doing any caching our phones don't already do and i don't see it doing any adblocking that you would use AdFree for.
Well I'm trying to include some useful apps to my rom and trunk to streamline the kernal for those apps also working on a custom app to control CPU clock depending on the apps open in the fourground example if your only texting your CPU clock shouldn't have to be high
But if your playing games or something that needs more CPU it will make CPU change clock speed up so it runs smooth and each value will be able to be manually set to users specifications
Not sure if it makes sense or not

Well you should take in account some emulators, such as fpse, N64OID, and SNESOID.
I need stuff that most people use so I can work the apps needed into my rom

In simple terms it is the amount of memory apps can use as a virtual machine. Its a matter of opinion as far as larger or smaller sizes. Some preffer larger for data intensive apps and some say it can be a waste. You can play with it and find what suits you phone and setup best for you

So it means memory that can use by any single apps?

I'm curious about this too.
it is the amount of memory any one single app can use at any one point. if you have an app that is a memory hog you can increase the vm heap size and hopefully it will run smother and stop force closings. if you shrink it down then memory intensive apps wont run as well but you can multitask better
Anyone having an issue with AVG detecting AC!D SoundMod as malware on the Whomp 2.9 ROM? I selected to ignore this app but wanted to know if anyone has any info regarding it?
Thanks
Joe

Probably because of the extra coding required to run it on non-Sony roms?

Who can put the HTC mobile phone built-in media link apps release limits, so as to be able to install in other Android mobile phone.
Sense apps require special framework, that's why you can't use them in other phones.
